Sock Monkey Riley For Olivia!

Hello, I just wanted to share this Birthday card I made for Olivia. She had asked for a Sock Monkey for Christmas, but didn't get one. Her Birthday was on Sunday, Big party big party Saturday (you can see pics below), and she finally got one! I made this card to go along with it.

I used last weeks SCS colour challenge, CC254, bashful blue, ruby red & close to cocoa. I also used last weeks SCS sketch challenge SC264.

Sock Monkey Riley was stamped twice and coloured with copics. I cut the sock monkey with Riley's hands, hooves? hmmm not sure...anyway I cut that out as one piece & popped it up! You can see it better in this photo.

And below is a picture of Olivia & her new buddy, Sir Monks Alot! That's his official name. He's been to school, and is now loved & desired by all her friends!

Thanks for stopping by, please visit Riley and Company to see all the latest Rileys!

Spa Slumber Party Goodies!

The Spa/Slumber party was a hit! We had fun, laughed, ate and then 5 little girls stayed up way too late! But that's the price of partying!

So we started the party off with the chocolate bar game. It's a hilarious game, where you get to eat chocolate, I know what a perfect game! My SIL introduced our family to this game in the summer.

All you need is a giant chocolate bar, oven mitts, a fork & butter knife, cutting board & a timer.

This is Daisy, I think she has about 4 pieces in her mouth in this photo! Since the kids were fairly big, and fit into the oven mitts easily, I gave them 15 secs. In that 15 secs. you have to cut a piece and then you can eat it. If the time runs out after you've cut it, the next person can eat it.
Next we made Bath Salts, this is a super easy and and useable craft.
Bath Salts
epson salt
sea salt 1/2 cup per jar
fragrance (Michaels soap making isle)
food colouring
1/2 pint canning jars
1 shell each to scoop salt out of jar (it has to fit the jar opening)

I used the new SU scalloped heart of hearts for the front, printed there names on the computer and punched them out with the small oval. The cover on top is a napkin and this cool mesh I found at the Dollarama that has a sparkly thread woven into it!

They also made body glitter and chocolate peppermint lip gloss. You can see them in the photo at the top.

Body Glitter
clear aloe gel
fine sparkles
stick to stir
fragrance (optional)

Chocolate Peppermint Lip Gloss
peppermint extract
chocolate chips (a couple melted)
containers (these were actually pill containers from the Dollarama)

After making all the goodies we took a break for some food & drink and then returned to the Spa with homemade chocolate facial masks!

Chocolate Facial Mask

This creamy mask is an excellent moisturizer, leaving your skin baby soft. Recommended for normal skin.

1/3 cup cocoa powder
3 tbsp. heavy cream
2 tsp. cottage cheese
¼ cup honey
3 tsp. oatmeal

Mix all ingredients together (a bullet blender is ideal) and smooth onto face. Relax for ten 10 minutes, then wash off with warm water.

Don't let this picture fool you, they really did have fun, but the masks were starting to dry so they couldn't smile! lol After the facial, they soaked there nails and painted them.

Loot bags contained homemade bath salts, body glitter, chocolate peppermint lip gloss, eye mask, head band, nail polish, nail files, and chocolates!

Have a Great Evening

Spa Slumber Party Invite!

Well Our youngest Olivia has reached the double digits! She turned 10 on Sunday, and to celebrate this year, we had a Spa/Slumber Party!

This was the invite, Olivia was the designer, I took her ideas, and came up with this. The base is pretty in pink with the front embossed with the argyle EF. The inside has a piece of dp and the corner is rounder. Then I scored & folded the front down & it's held in place with a dimensional.

The card inside, is chocolate chip & vanilla, the edges are sponged with Tim Holtz distress ink. You can't see it in the photo, but I also stamped on the who, when, where for the party info.

The bookmark features the adorable Sleepy Riley from Riley and Company. I stamped him with memento rich cocoa and coloured him with copics.

I'll be posting more pics from the party and recipes, so please stop by again.

Stamps: Sleepy Riley
Paper: pretty in pink, chocolate chip, very vanilla, dp
Ink: memento rich cocoa, Tim Holtz distress ink antique linen

Yeah it's Riley Blog Hop Time!

Yeah it's blog hop time! I can't wait to see all the fantastic teasers the Riley and Company
Design Team has to show you!

Don't forget, if you leave a comment here, you have a chance to win a free new Riley! and if you leave a comment on each blog along the hop, you have a chance to win there too!

I made this card for my SIL Wendy. She's a florist, so I though of her right away when I saw this Flower Riley.

I punch a circle in a scrap of paper and sponged in the sun. Then I used a cloud template a friend gave me to sponge in the clouds (love that). The grassy hills were cut and then I sponged the edges and stamped on some texture with the itty bitty background set. I even broke out my sewing machine for this one! Of course it was acting up, so you can see the knots here & there! lol
The flowers were made with one of those tiny punches you see in the $1 store. They aren't very user friendly, my thumb was killing me after punching out all these flowers! I filled the centers with liquid pearls...still haven't figured out how to use that and make it look rounded!

This beautiful Thoughtful Flower Riley was stamped onto white & coloured with copics twice. Then I cut out his whole image and for the 2nd one I cut out his head, arms & flowers all in one piece. I then popped up Riley in the field and popped up the head piece on that! The flowers he's holding have liquid pearl centers too.

I thought of the sentiment tag at the end, so it didn't get sewn on...I know doesn't look quite right! Maybe I can use a marker and do some faux stitching there!

Now onto the next Blog! okay you should have arrived from Cathy's and from here you will go to Cindy's! If you didn't start at Tanya's then you missed the beginning, and you don't want to miss anything, trust me!

Stamps: Flower Riley, itty bitty backgrounds
Paper: so saffron, certainly celery, white
Ink: memento tuxedo black, so saffron, certainly celery, kiwi kiss, soft sky
Accessories: copics, cloud template, circle punch, sponges, tiny flower punch, liquid pearls, dimensionals, sewing machine

Happy Hopping,

Riley Jan Sneak Peak Day 3

Hello, well today is day 3 of the new Riley sneak Peaks which means Blog Hop tonight at 10 pm! I hope you can make it. The new releases will be available tomorrow Jan 21 at Riley and Company.

This is the new Heart Balloon Riley. I used a Valentine theme, but you don't have to , he's very versatile, check out Frances's card today to see a different look!

So this Riley was coloured with copics, and then I thought it would be funny if he was wearing a pair of those silk boxes you see out at valentines! I tried making some but I was having trouble getting the silk look. Then I put a piece of ribbon across him & I loved that, but I thought it would be great if the sentiment was on the ribbon. Tried that several times so now I have a bunch of red satin ribbon in the garbage! lol Then I decided to return to the paper, but keep the ribbon idea...this is my usual process!

The card base is white, with a layer of red embossed with the heart block EF. I wrapped ribbon around that, I thought I had just bought some nice white ribbon with satin & sheer mix, but of course I couldn't find it! So this is two ribbons. I found the ribbon when I went to take the picture, my batteries died, and so I reached for my camera bag for more and was sitting on my new ribbon! I knew I bought some!

The main panel is the spellbinders pendant fleur de lis, then a panel popped up. The corners are rounded and the xo is a stamp from Michael's $1 bin $1.50 if you're Cdn.! Then Riley who is also popped up with his ribbon! lol

So what do you think?

Don't forget to come back for the Blog Hop tonight at 10pm est. Each member of the Design Team is giving away a new Riley to one lucky poster! Leave a comment on Everyones Blog for more chances to win!

Stamps: Heart Balloon Riley, $stamp

Riley Jan Sneak Peek Day 2

Today I'm featuring the sweet new Birthday Riley! He certainly comes to a party prepared!

I added a 2nd picture so you could get a better look at the crystal effects on the balloon, candle flame & plate, but it's not showing up very well! I also added stickles to the icing.

I used sketch challenge SC263 for my layout today.

Olivia's 10th birthday is on Sunday, and she mentioned several times how much she loves this Riley, so this may be one of her cards!

Glam Kitty & Putting those Spellbinder pendants to good use!

This is my favorite one so far and it's the first thing I made when my stamps arrived! I love this new sassy Glam Kitty from Totally Stampalicious!

One of the great things about it, you can make her cat colours, or skin colours with a cat costume! So today my Kitty is truely a Kitty, and doesn't she have expensive looking fashion taste!

Glam Kitty is coloured with copics, and I added crystal effects to her eyes, lips, necklace, and shoes. I used the Spellbinders pendant 'In Spades' to create some extra wow! I've added pictures below to show how I stacked them.

First with the large In Spades die, cut one real red piece and one black, well that's what I can use any colours! lol
Stack these and turn the top one 90 degrees. I put dimensionals inbetween them.

Next I cut one white piece with a die from the nesties labels #4. I can't remember which size it was, but if you need to know just leave a comment & I'll let you know. I only have the red piece behind so you can see the white piece. I also cut 2 from the red with one of the small dies from the In Spades set.
and this picture shows how I attach them!

Then take the white piece and attach it on on top with dimensionals. Easy right! Then of course you can bling it up and make it real fancy!

I hope you give it a try! If you're like me, I love having all the latest dodads & gadgets, so it's nice to have multiple uses for them.

Stamps: Glam Kitty
Paper: real red, black, white, DP DCWV all dressed up
Ink: memento tuxedo black
Accessories: copics, nestie labels #4, Spellbinder pendant In Spades, glitter, crystal effects, black sakura pen, black gems, dimensionals

Don't forget, if you order from Totally Stampalicious today you will get 15% off, even on the new sets! Plus there's still a chance to win the new sets, you can find all the info on the Totally Stampalicious blog.

Tomorrow is another exciting day, the Monday Challenge at Totally Stampalicious will be posted and it's the first day of the sneak peeks for the new Riley & Company stamps.

The whole idea for my layout today came from this $ store paper I found this week! I could picture Mr. Hawg leaning on these bricks, and it looked like it might go with purple, so I went with it! lol

Mr. Hawg was coloured with copics, then cut out and added to the dp panel. The sentiment in the sign is from the new Farmer Hawg Sentiments set.

The 15% off sale is on til Sunday Jan 17, great time to get these new sets!

Stamps: Farmer Hawg & Farmer Hawg Sentiments

Totally Stampalicious NEW Release!

Well I'm Totally thrilled to be designing for Totally Stampalicious, and wait til you see this fabulous new set Glam Kitty! It will be on sale today Friday Jan 15, and don't forget there's a sale going on right now, how great is that!

I always seem to focus on the main stamp image in a set, so I decided to try using just the smaller pieces. I love how this turned out!

The card base is rich razzleberry, and the white was made with the spellbinders classic frame, sponged with pale plum. The pale plum layer was cut using the scallop rectangle nestie, this layer is popped up.

The purses were stamped onto the white, and then on cottage wall dp. The sentiment also from the Glam Kitty set, was stamped in rich razzleberry and punched with the SU oval, then layered on the scallop oval & popped up.

I finished it off with the old olive taffeta, I love that stuff!

Please visit the other Designers and see all the great things they've come up with! I promise you won't be disappointed.

There's lots more to come, so make sure to pop back in over the next few days!

Grinch Treat Box for Daisy!

My Daughter's friend Daisy loves Jim Carey & the Grinch, so when I came across this Grinch by ILdyson76, the wheels started spinning & I came up with this Grinch treat box for Daisy! Jen (ILdyson76) was nice enough to post the instructions on her blog here.

I changed the colours a bit and embossed the fur on his hat, but other than that I used the same parts.

You can see from the side, that I made a little box out of the green (if I remember right it's old olive) and I also made a back.

Paper: Old Olive, Real Red, Whisper White,so saffron, Basic Black

Punches and Die:Boho Blossoms trio punch, scallop edge punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, Top Note Sizzix die

Ink/markers: Old olive, Basic Black Stampin Write marker

Accessories: Red gems, sponge, d'vine swirl EF

Have a great Day!

CC252, Sympathy for a Friend

Hello, it seems that although I have boxes of cards, when I need one for a friend, I never have the right one!

Our Friend lost his Mother and although I have a few sympathy cards, I didn't have the right one! So I needed it fairly quick and decided to use this weeks colour challenge CC252 bermuda celery hunters, and I took inspiration from Faith aka markie'smom, she always has beautiful cards.

The card base is handsome hunter, with a layer of bermuda bay and and then a layer of white that was embossed with the victoria EF and I punched the edge with Martha Stewarts botanical scallop edge punch.

The image from Flourishes Birds in Vines set, was stamped onto white with memento tuxedo black & then I coloured the leaves with copics. The coloured was sponged on with daubers, and I used a white inkssentials pen on the flower. I cut this out with oval nesties and popped up.

The sentiment from SU Warmest Regards was stamped with handsome hunter and punched with the modern label punch. I popped it up and added tiny pink gems.

It's finished off with white satin ribbon.

TSMONDAY11, Rockin Frawg!

It's Monday, and there is a fun sketch challenge over on the Totally Stampalicious Blog! I swear I hadn't seen Joycelyn's card before I made mine! I thought I was being so clever using the Rockin' Frawg set with stars! lol I guess great minds do think alike!
The card base is pretty in pink with a layer of dp from Basic Grey's Sultry. I added dots with a chocolate chip marker, and all the pink edges & the white panel are sponged with pretty in pink ink.
I didn't colour my frog, instead this time I stamped him on dp from Basic Grey's Eva. I stamped his whole body, and then his head twice. I also stamped him on white for the guitar & the whites of his eyes. The guitar is coloured with copics. So then I glued everything in place, including the eyes & eyelids then the head is popped up.
The music notes in the background are also from the Rockin' Frawg! set I stamped them in chocolate chip. I just realized while typing this that I could have punched out a circle from my strip since the chocolate circle is bigger! duh It took me 3 times stamping it to get the right placement! Well that's my lesson for today! lol
Not much else to tell, the main panel is popped up as well as the circle & the stars.
Don't forget to sign up for the Totally Stampalicious Newsletter, for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate.

Have a Great Day!
