RILEY Nov. Sneak Peek Day #1

Hi Everyone, WooHoo it's time for another Riley & Company Release, and this is Day 1 of the sneak peeks! There will be a Blog Hop on Thursday November 18, and the new stamps will be available for purchase after the Blog Hop at 10 pm EST!

Today I'm showing off the new Skating Sophie, isn't she cute! I knew I wanted to make an easel card, but what really pulled it all together was this dp. I've been hoarding this single sheet, don't remember where I got it, but it worked great for Sophie!

I coloured Sophie with copics, and added some glitter to the swirl under her skate and around the whole edge of the circle. I used circle nesties and a pinking circle to back the image and then popped up the whole thing.

I finished it off with some ribbon and I also cut out a couple of the stars in the dp and popped them up!

You can see more sneak peeks on the other Designers Blogs, just use the links on the right hand sidebar.

Recipe
Stamp: Skating Sophie
Paper: baja breeze, white, DP glittery night-A Rhonna Christmas
Accessories: copics (BG72, BG75, BG78 for dress & skates), circle nesties, pinking circle nestie, glitter, ribbon, dimensionals

Have a Great Day!

TSMONDAY, Paper Piecing!

Hello and Happy Monday! This is my card for today's Totally Stampalicious Challenge, paper piecing! When I was first introduced to stamping, like many it was Stampin Up, and looking through the book & seeing things cut out I thought...I'll never do that! ha I actually love it...I know crazy!

This is Let it Snow Stella! I stamped her onto vanilla neenah and coloured with copics. Don't ya just love her plaid coat, boots & hat! I used Basic Grey's Jovial pad for the plaid and the hmmm is it cream, yellow...not sure but I used it for the coat trim, muff, hat & scarf!

So when I first had this idea I thought it was going to look much better! I do love Stella, but I'm not totally thrilled with the background! I used the swirl frame embossing folder and embossed the poppy parade, then I went over the raised bits with a black sparkly sakura gelly roll pen...it does look better is you see the glitter.

The main middle panel is popped up, and I covered the little embossed stars with vanilla snowflakes!

So if you can play along that would be great, just upload your creation to the Totally Stampalicious Blog! There's usually a prize for a randomly drawn winner, and if you play, you may also win the chance to be the next Guest Designer!

BLOG HOP ALERT: This Thursday November 18, join the Totally Stampalicious Blog Hop at 9 pm. Look for 4 new fantastic sets being released!

Speedy's Challenge #29, Snowflakes!

Hello, it's time for another Challenge from Speedy's the Cat's Friends, and this week we are challenging you to include snowflakes! That's pretty easy as we enter the snowy months, it could be snowflake dp, embossing, brads, charms, punches etc. whatever you want!

Please make sure to upload your creation to the Mark's Finest Papers Blog. There is a FREE stamp set drawn for every 50 entries. You can use any stamps, but if you use MFP stamps your name is entered twice. You can enter as often as you like. This weeks challenge is open until Friday November 19th.

So I had a funny idea (well I thought it was funny) we have 2 cats, Oliver and Milo and a Dog Franky. Franky is a Border Collie and tends to herd the cats and push them around! But the animals always give the kids a gift at Christmas, and this year the cats are going to give Franky a gift! lol
I really couldn't resist when I saw this Speedy the Cat Stamp in the new set 'Christmas Postage Due', that's what came to mind! I think Franky will be really touched! lol
The box was made with the sizzix Box #2 die. Then I wrapped that beautiful satin ribbon, also from MFP around it, and that reminded me of Santa's belt, so I added the image where the buckle would go. The bag is filled with some yummy dog bones. I made the tage using a sentiment from the same set. I used Spellbinders Tag Shape #3, snowflake embossing folder and an EK snowflake punch.
The little card is 3x3". Super simple, red card base, then white embossed with snowflakes. I stamped the image in black, coloured the hat red, matted it with red and popped it up!
Have a Great Weekend!

G.I. Riley...Moosing You!

Hello, I made this for a couple of this weeks SCS challenges! First the sketch Challenge SC306, and the ways to use it challenge WT296 we remember!

G.I. Riley seemed like the perfect stamp for the We Remember challenge! I stamped him with memento tuxedo black onto white and coloured him with copics. I cut out the image with petite oval nesties and matted with riding hood red.

The card base is riding hood red, with a layer of crumb cake and dp I bought by the sheet quite a while back at Michael's it's made by creative imaginations. Here's my gripe for the day...the sale sticker was obviously put on by a non-paper crafter, because they put them right in the middle of all the papers and they left a really sticky residue!!!!

The center panel is crumb cake embossed with the star embossing folder. I finished it off with some taffeta ribbon, and the sentiment which is from the 'Things Riley Might Say' set.

Please be on the look out for Sneak Peeks of Riley starting on Monday November 15, with a Blog Hop & release on Thursday November 18! You're going to love these stamps!

Have a Great Day!

I finished it off with some ribbon and a music note charm also from MFP!

Paper Pieced Nutcrackers!

Hello, it's Day 2 of the Mark's Finest Blog Hop, and I get to show you something I made with the new set 'Christmas Postage Due'. I originally made this for the Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #28, paper piercing...because I thought it was paper piecing!!! So now I finally get to share it!

So before I tell you about the card, make sure to check out the Blog Hop List for today on the Mark's Finest Papers Blog, for your chance to win Blog Candy.

Now onto the card. I stamped the Nutcracker 3 times onto white, coloured in his face with copics, then I cut the Nutcracker out of the stamp! I stamped him onto 3 different colours in the Basic Grey Oliver pkg. Then I paper pieced his coat & hat, added gold pen to the stripes and backed them with white textured cardstock from MFP, and then red. The top was made with the fancy tag die.

The card base is riding hood red, with textured white (MFP) and dp from Basic Grey's Olivier. The Nutcrackers are popped up and I finished them off with buttons and linen thread!

Have a Great Day!

CC296, Christmas Nutcracker!

Hello, I made this card for today's colour challenge, CC296 poppy, tempting, white! Now I must admit, and maybe you felt the same, but when poppy parade was first released, I really didn't care too much for it! But paired with the right colours, it is beautiful!

So for todays card, I used a new set from Mark's Finest Papers which is available for purchase today, it's called 'Christmas Postage Due'! This is just one of many stamps in the set.

I stamped the nutcracker onto white and coloured with copics, I found copics R27, R17, & R05 were good matches for the poppy parade! I added stickles to the berries and backed it with black. This panel is popped up.

The card base is poppy parade, with a layer of white and poppy parade dp on the bottom. I also found a scrap of white that was already punched with a heart edge so I added it! The top part of the white was embossed with the Crafts-too snowflake EF.

I finished it off with some satin ribbon from Mark's Finest Papers, a little scrap of fibre and a mini Christmas ornament!

Today is Day 1 of the Mark's Finest Papers BLOG HOP, hop along and leave a comment for your chance to win some great Blog Candy!!

Have a Great Day!
