Speedy's Challenge #44, Include food!

This is my card for this weeks Speedy The Cat's Friends Challenge! This weeks challenge is to include food on your card!

Before I tell you about my card & the challenge, I'd like to thank everyone on the Design Team and at Mark's Finest Papers! This is my last card as Guest Designer, and I have truely enjoyed every minute of it! Thank you so much for the opportunity to meet and work with such a great bunch of talented stampers!

Now I originally had pictured this done in pastels, but some how I got this idea in my head, and I just couldn't make anything else work! So it may not be your normal spring/Easter colours, but I like it!

I made tye-dye eggs by stamping the eggs by the basket from the Spring Has Sprung set onto some dp from the $ store!

The card base is black, with white embossed with the swiss dots. For the main panel, I cut put & piled up the eggs, and then I stamped the bunny from the In the Forest set in black, cut him out and popped him up.

I used an oval punch for the sentiment and finished it off with ribbon!

I hope you can join in the challenge, please make sure to upload your card to the Mark's Finest Finest Papers Blog for your chance to win! There's an awesome new prize package, here's all the info:

MMTPT134, and a Sneak Peek!

Hello, I have a Sneak Peek for you, This is one of the New stamps being released Tonight at Totally Stampalicious!

Make sure to stop back tonight, Thursday February 24th, 9pm est for the Totally Stampalicious Blog Hop and Release! As always, there will be Awesome samples & Fabulous Prizes!

So I made this card for this weeks Teapot Tuesday challenge MMTPT134, we're off the the Academy Awards! This weeks Destination Station is to Lauren, a very talented actress who is having some medical problems & needs some cheering up!

OK I think I'm addicted to these Sliding Pop-Up Cards, it's all I could think of when I read the Teapot Challenge! So here's another...

First I stamped Scarlette onto white and coloured with copics. Then I decided her dress needed more sparkle so I stamped her again onto shimmery white & cut out the dress. I coloured the ribbon on the shimmer paper, so it looks shimmery too! I also added gems for earrings and stickles along the bottom of her dress & that big ol' ring!
Now I had to figure out how to keep her tiny bits sturdy, & then a light bulb went off!!! I stamped Scarlette onto acetate with stazon, which created sturdiness and you can still see all the whisps!

So the cards base is real red, the background is barely banana and I used so saffron & daffodil delight to sponge in a ray of light. The curtain was made with my favorite dp from Anna Griffin. The top curtain panel is popped up a bit!

The bottom strip is black dp from SU along with a piece of real red for the carpet!

I chose the sentiment from Mark's Finest Papers - In The Forest set. It's so positive, and I hope it helps Lauren get through this difficult time!

I hope to see you tonight!

TSMONDAY, Blue, Green & Brown!

Hello, time for another Totally Stampalicious Monday challenge, and this week it's all about colour! Join us and create a card or project with Blue, Green & Brown. Then all you have to do is upload to Mr. Linky on the Totally Stampalicious Blog!

I used Mr. Fixit Gus. I coloured him with copics, and his coveralls are dp from Basic Greys Wander. I also added crystal effects to his glasses.

The card base is chocolate chip, with a layer of the dp from Basic Grey and then a strip of dp from Crate Paper's snow day!

I really wanted to add some gears, but I keep putting off buying the punch!!! So I looked through my ricut cartridges and all the cartridges I borrowed from my girlfriend, and no luck! So I made my own!

Homemade Gears: I used 3/4" circle punch, 7/8" circle punch and the 2 smallest inverted scallop circles nesties, one from the sm & one from the lg. pkg.

First I punched the circles, and then I taped the nestie in place and ran it through the big shot! Pretty easy and I think they pass for gears!

Reminder: Totally Stampalicious New Release and Blog Hop is this Thursday February 24th, 9pm est. Hope you can join us, there's awesome prizes and lots of inspiration!

Have a Great Day!

NEW PRIZE PACKAGE: Participate in at least 3 of the challenges for the current month,[enter as many times as you would like - must be new projects, no back dating please-] for your chance to be a Guest Designer for the following month on the MFP Sr. Design Team. For my card today, I added pink passion as my third colour. The image is from the new Greet the Day With Gerber set. It stamped so beautifully with really nice detail.

The satin ribbon also from Mark's Finest Papers. I just recently purchased the bow easy, and it really helps make bows much quicker and it's great for ribbon that's good on one side!

Have a Great Day!

Lauren's Sliding Pop-Up Card!

Hello, I loved making the sliding pop-up card so much that I had to make another! This is for my Niece Lauren, she turned 10 on February 13th, and we are having our family Birthday Celebration for her this weekend!

Lauren loves to play school, so I used that as a theme for my card! You can find a picture and video tutorial here that shows how to make the sliding pop-up card!

My card base is real red. For the pop up background, I started with a piece of heavy white cardstock & then created the scene. I used a set from cdstamps.com called Little Learners (5842) and stamped the books along the bottom. I coloured them with copics and then stamped in the subject, which also comes in this set. I wanted it to look like a book shelf below the chalk board, so I added 1/8" strips of creamy caramel that are lightly sponged.

The chalk board frame is also creamy caramel, stamped with the wood grain background stamp, and then edges sponged with creamy caramel & close to cocoa. Then I attached it to black cardstock & glued the whole thing onto my pop-up background. I used some stamps for the words on the blackboard, stamped in craft white & I also wrote in her birthdate and name with a white pen.

Schoolgirl Sophie is from Riley and Company. I stamped her onto white with memento tuxedo black & coloured with copics.

I used acetate for the pop up mechanism so you can still see the background.

For the front slide out part, I wasn't sure what to put since the chalk board already says Happy Birthday! So I went with the best wishes sentiment from the Everyday Sayings set. The X's & O's along the edge are from a MS Valentine set from a couple years back!

Have a Great Day!
Laurie
