Rachel's an Artist!

Hello, this is a scrapbook page I made for Erika's (SunshineMama) challenge STVSCR5 on stamptv.

This is a picture of my Daughter Rachel. Her schools art dept was involved in a beautification project last year. They painted garbage cans with historical people and events of the city. This is her's of the workers who helped build our local hospital. It is currently sitting in front of the hospital. I'm so proud of her!

I used so saffron and stamped it with matching ink & the canvas bg stamp.The zebra is from 'Jumping for Joy'. I stamped him with versamark & embossed with black. I also stamped his head again, embossed, cut out & popped it up. I made small cuts along his leg to thread the ribbon through. A bow just didn't seem right for this, so I made a few knots along the ribbon.

All the stars and photo corners were made with punches. The smallest star was made with a fiskars punch which fits nicely into the center of the small SU star punch.I used 3 sentiments from the 'Jumping for Joy' set, great job, you rock, super star, and that she is!

For the very first time, I risked using my own handing on the page, it didn't turn out too bad! If you're leary about handwriting on your scrapbook pages, try this. First practice by writing on a piece of vellum. Then position the vellum over the spot you would write it to see if it fits & how it looks. Do this til you're comfortable & then take the plunge! that's what I did.

Mini Easter Basket

Hello, I made this for the 'Try a new technique' challenge TLC213. This week we were to make a mini easter basket, you can find all the info & instructions here.

I used pink pirouette cardstock & designer paper.The Bunny is from cdstamps, it's called Bunny nuggets . I stamped the head & tail on white & cut them out. The body is made with SU lg oval punch, and his paws are cut from the scallop circle punch. I popped his head up. I just happened to have the perfect pink bow already in my saved ribbon scraps!The bunny is attached to ovals cut with nesties.

The white edges on the basket & the handle edge were made with the EK dotted scallop edge punch.

Happy Frolicing Birthday Charlie!

Hello, I'm late posting this, but I made this for the sketch challenge last week, SC220.

I'm actually amazed at how well this turned out, considering it was not my favorite dp, and then I mixed it with old olive & yoyo yellow! But it looks better than it sounds!

The image I used is 'Charlie Daisy' from CDstamps. I coloured with copics, and added dazzling diamonds glitter to the flower centers & the butterflies.

I sponged around all the edges, even the yellow strips, I have yellow fingers to prove it! The sentiment is popped up.

Olivia & Nanny

Well I'm on a roll with the scrapbooking...I actually did another page! I used Erika's (SunshineMama) sketch challenge on stampTV STVSCR4. Following Erika's sketches has really helped me to actually put a page together.

This is one of my favorite photos of my Mom and my Daughter Olivia.

I used riding hood red for the base & then SU designer paper. The scalloped edge was made with the new EK dotted scallop punch. I punched a hole in the matted photo to thread the ribbon through.

The flowers are from "Flowers for Daisy" from GinaK. I coloured them with copics RV42 & E51. Then I added diamond stickles to the center.

Not having confidence in writing freehand, I decided to use the justrite new roman font stamp, but wish I had handwritten it, because I goofed up & got ink where it shouldn't be down near the date. picture #1

I've decided to cover this goof up with more flowers, hoping it doesn't through off the balance. The new flowers in the picture haven't had the stickles added to them yet! picture #2

A couple new things!

This is a baby card I made using Melanie Muenchinger's set "Hand in Hand'. It was a quick card, with non traditional colours, but I think it turned out ok! I used this sketch challenge hosted by Donna (dbaker3).

I started with the dp DCWV text prints, and went from there. I wanted to keep it clean & simple, so I only used very vanilla & old olive. The background panel is embossed with the swiss dot EF.

Stamps: Hand in Hand (GinaK), Paper: very vanilla, old olive, DCWV text prints, Ink: noir black, Accessories: brads, swiss dot EF, SU polytwill ribbon.

This an 8x8 scrapbook page I made for challenge #2 on the GinaK forum. The challenge is hosted by Erika (SunshineMama) and we were to include 3 things 1. a sketch she provided 2. journal something important to you (well me) 3. use stamps. I chose to make a page about my Hubby because he is definitely important to me.

I'm pretty much brand new to scrapbooking so I didn't want to risk wrecking this with my handwriting, so all the words are computer generated. I used cuddles & hugs and Hand in hand stamps for this page.

Childhood Memories

Hello, I made this for the colour challenge this week, krafty, riding, sun CC210. I also used the sketch challenge on Jenn Balcer's blog. I saw several cards online using this layout, & I loved them so I had to give it a try. The stamp set is "Dolls" from Hero Arts.

In the 1970's my parents went on a trip to Russia and brought back a huge set of these dolls for my Brother & Sister & I. Some of the set has been worn out or lost, but there are still some left at my Mom's, and now our kids play with them!

When I say this set, I had to get it! These colours fit perfectly with these dolls! I coloured the doll with prismacolour pencils & oms.

The card base is black, with a layer of dp on top & riding hood red on the bottom. There's also a strip of kraft across the middle that was stamped with an edge stamp from the same set, and embossed with black EP.

I used a nestie label #1 die to make the black & kraft panels that are tucked behind. The flowers were made with a fiskars & SU flower punch.

Spring Flowers Have Many Uses!

Hello, I made this for the March release challenge #1, GKMARTS on the GinaK forum. The theme is springtime, colour or flowers! I also used this weeks sketch challenge, SC219.

The card base is lavendar lace, with a panel of white embossed with the leafy branch EF. The triangle is also white, embossed with the swiss dot EF.

The flower was stamped 2 times on white, and coloured in with prismacolour pencils & oms. I cut out one & popped on top of the other with a dimensional. The center of the flower has amber coloured self stick gems.I like the way the ribbon placement kind of balances out the whole card!

I didn't add a sentiment, because this really could be used for many occasions.
