MMTPT104, We'll Show Moe!

Hello I made this for 2 challenges. The first Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday challenge MMTPT104, you can find the whole story if you follow the link!

To make a long story short, our mission was to teach Moe some speed by making a speedy card! I must admit that is the biggest challenge for me! No layer, no nothing!!!!! okay I admit, I usually follow rules, but I cheated a little by adding ribbon and the tinyest of gems...I may have to go in thru the back door!!!

This cow was desgined by Heather Rolin and was in her set A Lil' Behind, when she had her own company H&M Stamps.

I stamped him onto white cardstock. I coloured them with copics. I finished them off with the forbidden ribbon & gem!

Olivia's Baking Birthday Party!

Ok so we had Olivia's party with her friends on Sunday. Last year they decorated giant cookies, made personel pizzas, and made crowns for their stuffed friends (mostly webkinz). We took lots of pictures of everyone individually & together. Then my Husband ran to the 1 hour photo booth, & brought back all the pics. I had premade a brown bag scrapbook for everyone, then we broke out the punches, designer paper, embellishments etc. & they made their own! It was great, but I had no clue what to do this year until....

A while back, Melanie Muenchinger decorated an apron for her son using her set "have a Cookie", have a look and this was pretty much my inspiration for the party!

I bought the aprons on Ebay, they were great quality, but Olivia's didn't fit over her head, so I ended up cutting all the neck straps in half, and added velcro. I also ended up buying a pkg of 3 in adult size from Michael's, which honestly, were not as nice!

I made this for my Nephew Jack so the girls could see one done.

I knew I wanted them to decorate the aprons, but how was I going to bake with 7 kids in my tiny kitchen? The wheels started turning, smoke was present and then bam! I solved the problem!

1st, we decorated the aprons, with stazon ink & the pentel fabric dye sticks Melanie used, I bought them on Ebay too!

2nd, they decorated giant cookies. This is easy, 1 pillsbury cookie dough pkg makes 3 cookies. use tin pie plates, cut parchment to fit in bottom, make each cookie using 1/3 of the dough. Put out topping in bowls with spoons (cho chips, white chips, m&m's, marchmellows, sprinkles etc....constantly remind them less is better! Have an adult bake them at 350F for 20-30 minutes.

3rd, Cookies in a Jar! so they get to measure everything, & make a cool layered piece of art, then they get to take them home & bake them! Each girl had a set of measuring cups in their loot bag. I bought the canning jars at 2nd stores, score! We passed the ingredients around one at a time & they measured them into their jars. For the top, I bought napkins & trimmed them so they were round. I copied & printed the instructions of the computer, & premade the name & recipe tags. It was easy for the girls to put them together.

4th, Chocolate sprinkled banana pops. We melted chocolate, gave each girl 1/2 a banana which they put on a wood stick. Dip the bananas in chocolate, cover with sprinkles, put in the freezer.

Then they watched Olivia open presents while I got dinner ready, nachos & rootbeer floats! I found the old fashion coke glasses at Dollarama they were perfect for the floats!

The colour scheme was bright and I got a great deal (25 cents) on sturdy black gift bags to use for loot bags. Each included brightly coloured oven mitt, pot holder, measuring cups, tea towel, recipe in a jar, apron, coke glass, and whatever was left of their cookies & banana pop!

I must be crazy, because I've really enjoyed these parties & the kids have such a good time. It wasn't any more expensive than paying per person to go somewhere, in fact I think it may have been cheaper, and who needs more little party bag junk!

Rock-On H&M sketch & colour challenges

Hello everyone, well it’s Thursday almost the end of the week, and we have snow on the ground! Boohoo…winters here!
I made this for the challenges at H&M stamps. I wasn't sure if we were to include all the colours, I have no red, hope that's ok! if not that's ok too! lol

This card is also for my daughters friend, he’s turning 16. His Mom has enlisted my Daughter in helping to plan a surprise party for him & his twin brother on Saturday! I made a card for the other brother using this set a while back. I’ll try to find that pic & post it too!

The card base is chocolate chip, with a layer of kiwi kiss, and dp from DCWV rockstar stack. The word 'music' was in the dp so I lined it up to fit on the bottom.The dp across the middle has guitars, which luckily are covered, because I glued the panel upside down!

I stamped the main image from the ‘Rock-on’ set was stamped with burnt umber onto vanilla. I stamped it close to the bottom of my piece, then used a ruler & exact knife to cut a straight line across the top inbetween his limbs. Then I cut around his limbs. This panel is popped up. I stamped the sentiment in kiwi kiss, and sponged the edges with cool caribbean. The circles were cut with punches & nesties. The smaller circle with the hand is popped up too.I added 3 brads to finish it off.

This card uses the same stamp set as above.

The card base is chocolate chip, with a layer of old olive, and a layer of coredinations dp embossed with the allegro EF and lightly sanded.The image is from H&M's Rock-on set. I stamped the rocker in blush onto vanilla. The I stamped it in old olive, & brown, cut out the top and pants & glued inplace. The hair was coloured with a creamy caramel marker. The guitar was stamped with bravo burgandy craft onto vanilla, and embossed with clear EP.The music note is from a inkadinkado set, of course I can't remember the name! I stamped it in versamark onto old olive, attached an eyelet & cut it out. The trim is faux leather from the $ store.

Warm & Cozy

Hello, I made this for Heather's sketch & colour challenge on the H&M stamps blog.The card base is chocolate chip, with a layer of dp from basic greys figgy pudding.

The top triangle piece is baja breeze embossed with the snowflake EF. I stamped the image in noir black onto watercolour paper, and the dp.

The cat is coloured with SU crayons. I cut out the bed, and with a craft knife, I cut around the cats tail. I attached the bed to the image, slipping the bed under his tail, and his tail is attached with a glue dot. The whole image is outlined with copic W-1The ovals were made with nesties.To finish it, I used snowflakes made with a Martha Stewart punch, the cuttlebug snowflake die #2. & some stick-on pearls.

Doesn't he look cozy!

Some Christmas Cards

Hello Everyone, having been the lucky winner of the Parade of Stamps contest at H&M Stamps, I having been receiving LOTS of new stamps. I LOVE getting packages! So here’s some of the things I’ve made recently.

The first is made from a stamp from H&M Stamps called Percy Builds Frosty, he is even more adorable when you actually have him in your hand!!! I paper pieced his mitts, hat & scarf. I also couldn’t believe it when I realized I had paper I bought last year with almost the exact same design as the new EF called snow dots, so I had to use them together. And of course the dazzling diamonds for snow always looks so nice & sparkly!

The second card is also made with a stamp from H&M Stamps, it’s from the set ‘Christmas is a time for Cookies’. I’m really happy with the way this turned out, and it reminded me of the plate of cookies that is of course important to leave for Santa. That’s what led me to create the ‘Hi Santa’ sentiment with the Justrite roman font. I also love the way the punched edge reminds me of a lacey tablecloth.

The third card is made with the new Flourishes set called ‘Sleighride’ This deer is very similar to the deer in the “Flourishes Christmas’ set, except he’s smaller & facing the opposite way. Isn’t he elegant!

I have admirerd Faith since I first found SCS. She has influenced many of my stamp purchases, and now Paper! I just love the Basic Grey figgy pudding paper. I first noticed it last year on Faith’s creations, and I finally have a pkg of my own, it arrived last week! I’m so proud of myself for actually using it, I’m terrible for saving the stuff I love best, it’s habit I’m trying to break!

H&M Challenge

Well I finally had time to join in one of the challenges hosted by Heather, owner of H&M Stamps. Heather recently released a huge amount of stamps, so if you haven’t checked out the new ones, you should click on over to H&M when you get a chance!

I made this card with the new set, Lil’ Behind, for both the HMSC14 sketch challenge, & the HMCC11 colour challenge which can be found here.

I had a hard time finding paper in these colours that didn’t remind me of Halloween, but I decided to look through my scrap bin, and there was the perfect paper in the amount I needed with a tiny bit to spare!

The card base is black, with a layer of purple, and the white strip I used the fiskars edge punch on.

The threee middle panels are white layered with DP from Amanda Blu.

The cow was stamped 3 times on white and coloured. The first panel only has the udder, the neck and the bell showing, the second layer is just the cows butt and legs, and third part is the head which is popped up. The bell was coloured with a pumpkin pie marker and then some stardust pen on top.

The sentiment was punched with the 1 ¼” and 1 3/8” punches and popped up.

I had to turn the sketch on its side, I hope that’s ok!
