A Star Is Born!

Hello, my Nephew Jack was in a school production of The Wizard of Oz. Our whole family went to see it, and what a treat it was, it was so well done, hard to believe it was a public school production!

Jack was one of the tough boy Munchkins as well as a flying monkey. I made this treat for him, for a job well done.

I found this awesome Tutorial for Hersey Kisses Star treat holders by Brenda of Qbee`s Quest. She has tutorials for several Hersey Treat Holders, there`s super easy and so clever!

To finish it, I used the Flying Monkey Riley, from Riley and Company and the sentiment is from Stampin Up Picture This set.

Riley2613, Anything Goes!

Hi Everyone, it is with a very heavy heart that I say this is my last challenge post as a member of the Riley and Company Design Team, and hopefully I don't regret this decision!

It is my turn to pick a challenge this week, and I chose a super easy one, Anything Goes! For my project today I used Elf Riley to make a tag for this treat jar. I thought this image was good because 1. he's so darn cute and 2. he's holding a candy cane which is part of my treat!

I coloured the image with copics, and used the oval nesties to cut him out, then added some Christmas ribbon.
I made this for my Sister. She's loves the peppermint kisses, and I found a recipe for Peppermint Bark puppy Chow on pinterest. Mine didn't turn out exactly like the pinterest photo, my chocolate started to burn so then I had to put it in a double boiler...wish I had started with that! Anyway it tastes good, so I hope she likes it.

Please join us in our challenge and upload your card or creation to the Riley and Company Blog. If You upload to any forums, please use the keyword RILEY2613.

Wishing You and your Families a Very Merry Christmas!

I used Sledding Riley for my card this week, I coloured the image with copics and added some stickles. The card base is garden green with a layer of white embossed with snowflakes. I used dp from Echo Parks Holly Jolly Christmas pad for the fishtale strips. The main panel is popped up.

I also used the Freshly Made Sketch FMS116.

RILEY2413, Thanks!

Hello, it's time for a Riley and Company Challenge, and this one is brought to us by Michele. She's challenging us to make something using the Thank You theme, but it doesn't have to be fall! I made a box of cards, that can be given as a gift of Thanks!

I used Swinging Riley and coloured him with copics. I love this box for giving cards, it's finished six is 6" wide by 3" deep and the back is big enough to fit a 6" square card easily. You can find the box tutorial here.
I used some bazzill cardstock and found some designer paper in my scrap bin that matched pretty good! The branch is from the bird punch and at first I just had it there, but it needed something, so I added the little flowers.

Please join us in our challenge and make a Thank You card or Project. Then just upload it to the Riley and Company Blog, and if you upload to any forums, please use the keyword RILEY2413.

RILEY2013, Buttons!

It's time for a Riley and Company challenge, and this time Frances is challenging us to use buttons! I'm sorry, I was wanting to make a halloween card, and decided on the Pirate Riley, and just realized he is reitred so I apologize for that!

I coloured him with copics. and added gold atyou spica to his belt buckle.

The card base is black with a layer of crumb cake I distressed and sponged. I used riding hood red and embossed it with the Skeleton Scroll EF and then rubbed the basic grey ink pad over it. The designer papers are scraps from my scrap bin.

The button was made with a sizzlits die from gold metallic cardstock, I made two and glued them together so it's stronger and thicker.

Please join us in our challenge, and upload your creation using buttons to the Riley and Company Blog. If you upload to any forums, please use the keyword RILEY2013.

This is my card for #7 of the questionaire. I would love to visit Paris one day, who wouldn't! For this card I used Moostash Riley, from Riley and Company.
And this is for Challenge #8 of the questionaire, to make a bookmark using this sentiment and a travel theme. This is Zip Line Riley, he's on vacation and decided to try something daring, brave little guy!

RILEY1813, Make It Male!

Hello, it's challenge time at Riley and Company, and our hostess this week is Frances! It was Father's Day this past Sunday in Australia, so she's challenging us to make a card for a Male!

I must confess I had no idea Father's Day was different in other countries. The other night my Daughter went to bed and came out looking real upset. She had looked at her calendar and saw it was Father's Day and thought she had missed it! lol

So for my card today, I went with a card shark/poker theme! This is Poker Riley, I coloured him with copics. The designer paper is from Kaiser Kraft, called Shaken not stirred, perfect for this Riley.

I also used this weeks MOJO Monday Sketch MOJO309.

Please join us in our challenge and upload your creation to the Riley and Company Blog. If you upload to any forums, please use the keyword RILEY1813.

Hello, it's challenge time at Riley and Company, and this week Jovita is challenging us to make a Vacation themed card or project!

For my card today, I used waterslide Riley. My Sister and I are taking the kids to a waterpark this week, so this seemed appropriate!

I coloured the image with copics. The card base is gumball green with a layer of white and then a layer of bashful blue embossed with the D-vine swirl EF.  The spotted dp is from Bo Bunny Barefoot & Bliss and the little tails are from my scrap bin.  I finished it off with a starfish made with an EK punch.

I also used this weeks MOJO Monday sketch, MOJO307.

Riley Sneak Peek Day 3!

Hello, it's day 3 of the Riley and Company Sneak Peeks! Today I paired one of the new Funny Bones sentiments along with the Mixing Bowl Riley. I separated the sentiment and put half on the front and half inside.

I had this dp from TPC studio-so delish which I think goes well with the image and sentiment. I made a chocolate chip cookie with circle nesties and scrunched up the top piece then sponged it so it had more cookie like texture.

RILEY1213, Use Up Those Die Cut Scraps!

Hello, it's time for another challenge from Riley and Company, and this week I'm challenging you to use up those die cut scraps or any scraps you have around. For my card today, I used Graduation Riley.

I also tried a new card design, this is a Diamond Origami Fold Card, I found the tutorial on Splitcoast. It's super easy and you can use one sided designer paper.  The black oval and yellow piece were found in my die cut stash, along with the stars I used on the inside.
This is where I've been keeping my unused die cuts and punched items, but as you can see I am outgrowing this and need a larger container, since I have trouble opening the drawers! lol The top drawer is where I keep my masks of different stamps. I stamp them onto copy paper and cut them out, then use repositionable glue on the back. This way if I use a stamp alot I only have to make the mask once!

So if you want to join in our challenge and use up some of those scraps, please upload creation to the Riley and Company Blog so we can have a look too! If you upload to any forums, please use the keyword RILEY1213.

Riley Peek - Shit Creek Survivor!

Riley and Company will be releasing 19 New Funny Bones sentiments Tonight Thursday May 23rd, 10:00 pm est. Please come by for the Release and Blog Hop that will start on the Riley and Company Blog! Leave comments along the way for your chance to win some awesome Blog Candy!

All New stamps will be available for purchase at Riley and Company at 10 pm est.

When I first saw this sentiment, it reminded me of a time years ago, when I was having complications following surgery and my Mom would say I had a shit cloud over me! So to remind myself that I am a survivor, I made myself a bookmark. I am writing this ahead of time, and when it posts I will be in having another surgery, yep I'm a little scared, but I'm going to keep this in my book to remind me it will all work out in the end!

I paired the new 'Shit Creek Survivior' sentiment with Fishing Riley, and coloured him with copics and cut him out. The tag itself was made with the Shapeabilities Page Maps. I covered that with dp then stamped the image onto it. The clouds were made with a die-namics and the top of a cupcake punch.

Please make sure to come back tonight for your chance to win some Blog Candy!

More Kards For Kids!

Hello, I made these card for the Kards For Kids group I belong to, and also used a couple challenges!

I used Sunflower Riley for both cards.

The top card is a Sweet Sunday Sketch SSSC179. I coloured Sunflower Riley with copics, and stamped an extra flower head and popped it up.

The card base is chocolate chip with a layer of bashful blue on the top embossed with the new Cloudy Day EF. The bottom is dp from the DCWV summer stack pad that I've had for a few years but still use!  I also added some more mustard with the circle pinking nestie, and twine.

The flags were made with the spellbinders shapeabilities nested pennants dies.
I made this one using the Freshly Made Sketch FMS76. The papers are all the same. For the flower, I used some post-it notes to mask off Riley and just stamp the flower, 3 were cut out and popped up.
The inside was finished by using some of the dp, stamping Riley in memento rich cocoa along with the Smile sentiment, also from Riley and Company!

Kards For Kids Virtual Cruise Challenges 4-8!

Hello, If you read my precious post, you know I was playing with my fellow Kards For Kids team members this weekend, we went on a virtual cruise, while playing in challenges and making cards for the kids!

Above is my card for challenge #5 Paris France, we were to make a card with a Paris flair! Bela provided us with the image, designer paper and flowers!
For Challenge #6, we were shown a beautiful picture of Greece and had to make a card using blue, white and a summer theme! I used Sailboat Riley, and Shoreline dp from American Crafts.
For Challenge #7, we were to create a card with florals, using a photo from Venice, Italy as inspiration. I used Window Riley with some glittery designer paper!
and lastly Challenge #8, the 50's shows. We had the image and papers provided, along with the die cut ice cream float. I added some tiny circle punch outs to the top for bubbles and then covered them with stickles.

Fabulous cruise,
Laurie
