Rock-On H&M sketch & colour challenges

Hello everyone, well it’s Thursday almost the end of the week, and we have snow on the ground! Boohoo…winters here!
I made this for the challenges at H&M stamps. I wasn't sure if we were to include all the colours, I have no red, hope that's ok! if not that's ok too! lol
This card is also for my daughters friend, he’s turning 16. His Mom has enlisted my Daughter in helping to plan a surprise party for him & his twin brother on Saturday! I made a card for the other brother using this set a while back. I’ll try to find that pic & post it too!
The card base is chocolate chip, with a layer of kiwi kiss, and dp from DCWV rockstar stack. The word 'music' was in the dp so I lined it up to fit on the bottom. The dp across the middle has guitars, which luckily are covered, because I glued the panel upside down!
I stamped the main image from the ‘Rock-on’ set was stamped with burnt umber onto vanilla. I stamped it close to the bottom of my piece, then used a ruler & exact knife to cut a straight line across the top inbetween his limbs. Then I cut around his limbs. This panel is popped up. I stamped the sentiment in kiwi kiss, and sponged the edges with cool caribbean. The circles were cut with punches & nesties. The smaller circle with the hand is popped up too.I added 3 brads to finish it off.
aha I found a picture of the other card

This card uses the same stamp set as above.

The card base is chocolate chip, with a layer of old olive, and a layer of coredinations dp embossed with the allegro EF and lightly sanded. The image is from H&M's Rock-on set. I stamped the rocker in blush onto vanilla. The I stamped it in old olive, & brown, cut out the top and pants & glued inplace. The hair was coloured with a creamy caramel marker. The guitar was stamped with bravo burgandy craft onto vanilla, and embossed with clear EP.The music note is from a inkadinkado set, of course I can't remember the name! I stamped it in versamark onto old olive, attached an eyelet & cut it out. The trim is faux leather from the $ store.

Have a great Day!

I Love Bird Ornaments!

Hello, I made this for Faith's (Markie's Mom) Tuesday chat challenge on the Flourishes forum. We were to use stamps from more than 1 set. Well mine isn't as creative as Faith's example, The bird (I love), and the branch were from 'All that Glitters' & the sentiment is from 'Poinsetta & Boxwood'.

The card base is always artichoke, with a layer of this beautiful glittery paper from flourishes. I stamped the bird in versamark onto white & embossed with gold EP. Then I masked the bird, and stamped the branch with always artichoke craft. Then I embossed the branch with clear EP. Sue if you're reading this I know you'll think I'm crazy, but I made a mask of the branch & stamped it again! It really wasn't that hard.

I coloured the image with SU markers, and cut out with rectangle nesties. The sentiment was stamped with versamark & embossed with gold. I used a circle punch, & circle nesties.

I bought the beads at Michaels a few weeks ago thinking I could use them on Christmas cards, but hadn't used any yet. So I decided I had to use them today. I used a corsage pin, and to hold the beads in place I used crystal effects. There's tiny gold brads in the corners, and the finishing touch was the ribbon. I couldn't believe how well it matched!

Thanks for stopping by!

GinaK November Release Challenges

All of my items posted today were made for the challenges leading up to & after the November release on the GinaK forum.

The first picture is a chocolate lovers birthday card! We were to use 3 or more stamp sets from GinaK. Luckily I have lots!!!! This card uses Just so Sporty, Little Tee’s & Retro Boutique.

I love making fun cards, and this one certainly was! I used my scor-pal for the first time and covered the brads with iridescent ice EP, they look like they’re covered in sugar.

The second card was made for a sketch challenge posted by Jessica (Jessjean). I really liked this sketch, and I’m sure I’ll use it again. I may even make more poinsettia cards in different colours! The poinsettia is from Melanie’s set ‘A year of flowers’.

I just wish the beads in the center had been a solid white, I think that would have looked better. I was going to use liquid pearl, but I can’t seem to get it to look round on top…it always looks pointed! If anyone has any tips on getting a more rounded look, please let me know.

The first challenge on the Ginak forum for the release party was hosted by Erika (SunshineMama). When I first saw it, I was totally discouraged. I’ve never done a scrapbook page on my own before…and with a deadline!!! But since Erika mentioned we could make it the size we wanted, I decided to try an 8x8 page.

Of course I couldn’t find the picture I wanted to use, it may still be on the computer somewhere! So I flipped through some loose photos we had out, and decided on this one. I used to sew, like many other papercrafters. The photo was taken on Canada Day in 2000, I made them all something to wear that day, tops for the girls, & shorts for Andre. I’m really like how this turned out.

Melanie Muenchinger posted a challenge on the GinaK forum before the release night, for a chance to win one of her 2 new sets. The 1st challenge was to use Just so sporty, or Little Tee’s. I used the Little Tee’s set and made this t-shirt of hope with a pink sparkly ribbon.

The second challenge was to make something using any of her other stamps. I hadn’t used the poinsettia from “A year of Flowers’ at this point, so this is the first card I made with it, and I won a free set!!! Gotta love that!

I also used the colour challenge on SCS that week, CC192 pacific point, certainly celery, and basic grey.

Well that’s it for today…I hope you have a great evening! I’m going to check & see if the winners have been posted.

Warm & Cozy

Hello, I made this for Heather's sketch & colour challenge on the H&M stamps blog. The card base is chocolate chip, with a layer of dp from basic greys figgy pudding.

The top triangle piece is baja breeze embossed with the snowflake EF. I stamped the image in noir black onto watercolour paper, and the dp.

The cat is coloured with SU crayons. I cut out the bed, and with a craft knife, I cut around the cats tail. I attached the bed to the image, slipping the bed under his tail, and his tail is attached with a glue dot. The whole image is outlined with copic W-1The ovals were made with nesties. To finish it, I used snowflakes made with a Martha Stewart punch, the cuttlebug snowflake die #2. & some stick-on pearls.

Doesn't he look cozy!

Pink Flourishes Tree

Hello, this is last weeks sketch challenge, and I used Faith's (Markie's mom) Tuesday colour challenge on the Flourishes forum. We were to use pink & brown. I love these colours together!

The card base is chocolate chip, with a dp panel on the bottom, the dp has pink foil hearts! The image from Forest of Trees was stamped with versamark onto white, and embossed with copper EP. Then I sponged pixie pink on the tree with a dauber. The top panel is pixie pink stamped with matching ink, and the top of the tree to give it some texture. The sentiment is from 'Garden Silhouette' I stamped it in versamark & embossed with copper. The finishing touch is the copper clip (which I'm never sure how to attach) and some pink ribbon & copper cord. The ribbon looks to me like it should be going the other way, I may have to change that!

Thanks for stopping by
Have a great day

Hanna Challenges from Mom & Daughter

Hello, these are my entries for the November release challenge on the Hanna Stamps Forum.

#1 was a sketch challenge hosted by Candice. I used diet Sophie for the first time, she totally reminds me of myself!

The dp is from the DCWV sweet stack. I stamped her on white & coloured her with koh-i-noor pencils and oms (odorless mineral spirits) This is currently my favorite way to colour Riley & Sophie. I also stamped on soft sky dp & cut out the scale, then I stamped of white & cut out the dial of the scale, and I coated this with crystal effects so it would look like glass. The muffin is covered in dazzling diamonds glitter. The main image is popped up.

The sentiment is computer generated!

#2 challenge hosted by Beth (MyPrecious) was to make a non-traditional baby card, NO pastels.

I used the Stroller moose stamp. I chose the dp first, and picked out orchid opulence & green galore to go with it. The dp had hearts so I used the heart block EF and stamped little hearts on the card base. The heart stamp & the sentiment are from SU Short & Sweet.

The image was stamped onto white, coloured with koh-i-noor pencials & oms. I also stamped on green dp, and cut out the stroller. The main image panel is popped up.
#3 is for the Friday challenge on the Hanna Stamps Forum, there’s a new challenge every Friday! This weeks was hosted by Bev (TexasGrammy), we were to use chipboard.

I don’t have much in the way of Chipboard! I do have a big letter set, so I decided to use the Sleepy Time Riley for the first time. He is so adorable!

I picked the dp first again, and went with some paper from the Basic Grey two scoops pad. I used the koh-i-noor pencils, oms and SU markers to colour him in. I goofed & went outside the line in a couple spots cause I ran out of small blending stumps so I was using one that was too big on the pjs! Hopefully you didn’t notice til I mentioned it!

I used the letter Z, and covered it with dp & then stickles.

My Daughter Olivia (8) is always hoping to catch me working on a challenge so she can join in! I don’t have the heart to say no, and she has some great ideas.

For the chipboard challenge Olivia really was faced with a challenge because she had an idea, but we didn’t have chipboard to make it! She wanted a Riley sitting at a desk, with letters, like a,b,c, behind him. So she settled for school Riley and made her chipboard. The black strip is cardboard, taken from the recycle box, covered with black & then she added sticker letters!

I think my favorite is her non-traditional baby card! The before & after is so funny! She used Expecting Sophie, and stroller moose stamps.

Hope you like them!
Have a great day

Some Christmas Cards

Hello Everyone, having been the lucky winner of the Parade of Stamps contest at H&M Stamps, I having been receiving LOTS of new stamps. I LOVE getting packages! So here’s some of the things I’ve made recently.

The first is made from a stamp from H&M Stamps called Percy Builds Frosty, he is even more adorable when you actually have him in your hand!!! I paper pieced his mitts, hat & scarf. I also couldn’t believe it when I realized I had paper I bought last year with almost the exact same design as the new EF called snow dots, so I had to use them together. And of course the dazzling diamonds for snow always looks so nice & sparkly!

The second card is also made with a stamp from H&M Stamps, it’s from the set ‘Christmas is a time for Cookies’. I’m really happy with the way this turned out, and it reminded me of the plate of cookies that is of course important to leave for Santa. That’s what led me to create the ‘Hi Santa’ sentiment with the Justrite roman font. I also love the way the punched edge reminds me of a lacey tablecloth.

The third card is made with the new Flourishes set called ‘Sleighride’ This deer is very similar to the deer in the “Flourishes Christmas’ set, except he’s smaller & facing the opposite way. Isn’t he elegant!

I made this for Faith’s (Markies’ Mom) Tuesday Chat challenge. Every Tuesday Faith posts a challenge on the Flourishes forum at SCS. There’s also a chat at 7pm every Tuesday, you should check it out!

I have admirerd Faith since I first found SCS. She has influenced many of my stamp purchases, and now Paper! I just love the Basic Grey figgy pudding paper. I first noticed it last year on Faith’s creations, and I finally have a pkg of my own, it arrived last week! I’m so proud of myself for actually using it, I’m terrible for saving the stuff I love best, it’s habit I’m trying to break!

I hope you all have a great day,
Don’t forget to vote!
