ABC, ipod Treat Holder & Tag!

Hello, the Bugaboo Team is back from our 2 weeks holidays, and I do believe my mojo is recharged!
It's Anything but a card day at Catch The Bug, and today I'm showing you the ipod treat holder I made. I had seen something similar on pinterest and decided to make my own pattern.
For my tag I used Johnny-music from Bugaboo Stamps. I colored him with copics and used a corner punch to make the tag.
Here's a side view, the headphones were made with a 1.75" circle punch and 1-3/8" (if I remember right!) I embossed the smaller circle with the swiss dot embossing folder and the black strip connecting them is 3/4" wide.
Here's a close up of the tag, Johnny-music is so cool!
This is the template I made to make the ipod treat box. I started with a piece of pacific cardstock 8.5" x 6".
score at 1/2", 3.5", 4.5" and 7.5 then turn and score at 1 inch. Fold on score lines, and cut along the bottom as shown. I used a Spellbinders Rectangle die for the window, it was the second from largest die in the small set.

Finished the box measured 5 inches tall by 3 inches wide and 1 inch deep. For the front I used circle punches and a white uni-ball pen for the menu and markings.

Lego Movie Inspired Birthday!

Hello, my Nephew Jack just turned 11 and we got him some new lego from the Lego Movie so I decided to make him a card and treat box to go along with the theme!

I couldn't find anything that really went with the movie, so I came up with this Bad Cop on my own! I used black and daffodil delight. I hand drew most of it, and my new white uni-ball pen worked beautifully (I'm still shocked...I had no luck with my last one, maybe it was a dud!) . The glass lenses were made with silver paper and the wing of the 2-step bird punch, I just rounded it out with scissors.
and this is the other side, with the scribbled on face, this side was easy! lol
This is the card I made, I loved this card by Joanne James, so I pretty much cased it! Jack seemed to really like the card and the treats!

Butterfly Basics Birthday Card & Treat!

Hello, this is the card and curvey keepsake box I made for my stepdaughter for her birthday. I loved this card by Jenn Brum, I pretty much copied it but changed the colours, I also added the vellum piece behind the butterfly that I coloured with copics.
I also made this lovely little Curcy Keepsake treat holder, which was also a case from Erica B Cerwin you can see here! I stamped the box with the Distressed Dots background stamp.
Not a great photo, but this is the two together!

OBG, Snowman Treat Jar with Tag!

Hello, it`s Oldie But Goodie Day at Catch The Bug, and today I`m showing you a Snowman Treat Jar with tag I made for Christmas. The tag is Christmas Tag - Snowman from Bugaboo Stamps, you can see a close-up below. I coloured the tag with copics and added stickles to the berries and the snow. The tag was cut out and backed with black cardstock.

I got this idea from pinterest. It`s a nice inexpensive treat jar, would make a great Teacher gift. All you need is a mason jar, some felt and buttons (I bought both the felt & buttons at the $ store). I filled it with yogurt covered pretzels and added my tag!
Quick and Easy, which is what we need right now with the Christmas rush on!

ABC, Paper Treat Purse!

Hello, it's Anything But A Card day at Catch The Bug, and today I have a Paper Treat Purse! I saw these purses on Pinterest and wanted to try them out. I started with a 8.5" square piece of cardstock. Then score opposite sides at 3.5" and the other 2 sides at 2".The finished bag is 4.5" wide by 3.5" tall (not counting the handles)
I covered the front and back with white cardstock embossed with a snowflake embossing folder. The image here is Candy Cane Bear from Bugaboo Stamps. I coloured him with copics and cut out with oval/scallop nesties.
This is the inside, it fits candy and a gift card easily, perfect for Christmas. I also wanted to show you the closure I used. I can never find thin magnetic closures here, so I spotted these at the $ store. They're plastic snaps with sticky tape on them.
I just cut it in half and stuck it in place, super easy and inexpensive, plus they don't add any weight!

ABC Witchy Treat Holder & Tag!

Hello, It's Anything But A Card Day at Catch The Bug, and today I have a cool Halloween Treat Holder to show you!
I actually found this idea on pinterest. I used a paper towel roll and cut it to the size I wanted. I alternated with orange and purple glitter tape I got at the $ store. The base is black cardstock wrapped around the roll and the bottom is just a 5.5" triangle piece and I curled the end a bit. I had a round buckle punch so I used that with silver cardstock.
I filled it with one of my favorites, black licorice!

And of course you can't forget an awesome tag to finish it off! This is Halloween CS - Best Witches from Bugaboo stamps. I coloured the image with copics and added some stickles in lemon to the stars, lavendar on her eyelids and silver on the buckle.

Make sure to pop by the Catch The Bug Blog for more ABC ideas.

A Star Is Born!

Hello, my Nephew Jack was in a school production of The Wizard of Oz. Our whole family went to see it, and what a treat it was, it was so well done, hard to believe it was a public school production!

Jack was one of the tough boy Munchkins as well as a flying monkey. I made this treat for him, for a job well done.

I found this awesome Tutorial for Hersey Kisses Star treat holders by Brenda of Qbee`s Quest. She has tutorials for several Hersey Treat Holders, there`s super easy and so clever!

To finish it, I used the Flying Monkey Riley, from Riley and Company and the sentiment is from Stampin Up Picture This set.

ABC, Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! It's Anything But A Card Day at Catch The Bug, and I have a treat holder for you today that I'm calling  St. Patrick's Day Pockets of Gold!

I used Edward Elephant Happy St. Patrick's Day  from Bugaboo Stamps to decorate the front. I coloured him with copics. Then layered him on glittery gold cardstock from the $ store and early espresso.

I got this idea from a kittystamp at SCS she posted this awesome treat holder, here's  her Blog Post with a tutorial. I altered it just a bit, I started with a piece 4.25" x 11" and scored in the same place she did.

Instead of using treat bags, I made 2 pockets with designer paper (this works best with paper weight). Sorry my photo isn't the best, but I started with a piece 8.5" x 8" then score at 2" and 6" along the 8.5" side.

. Fold on the score lines and use double sided tape to seal. This puts the seam in the middle so you won't see it.
Then score down the middle at 4" and add double sided tape down the center of the middle and on the outside of each pocket to glue inside the cardstock holder.
You can see in the photo below how it looks when together but open.
To make the cards for the pockets. I used a piece of cardstock 4.25" x 3 5/8". I used the SU envelope punch board for the notches at the top. Then I used double sided tape to glue down the chocolate coins.
What a fun easy way to give a gift and or a treat!

Bugaboo Freebie Friday, Spring Block!

Hi All, It's Freebie Friday at Bugaboo Stamps, and this week this great Spring Block is Free! I coloured the image with copics, and added stickles to the dragonflies wings.

Then I backed it with black cardstock and added it to a pink bag and made a purse/treat bag. I was inspired by this bag I found on SCS a while ago.

I trimmed the bag to be 3/4" taller than the image panel. The flap was made with the SU framelits label collection die. Below is a side view.
Make sure to pop on over to the Catch The Bug Blog to see some more great samples using this new image.

Riley2613, Anything Goes!

Hi Everyone, it is with a very heavy heart that I say this is my last challenge post as a member of the Riley and Company Design Team, and hopefully I don't regret this decision!

It is my turn to pick a challenge this week, and I chose a super easy one, Anything Goes! For my project today I used Elf Riley to make a tag for this treat jar. I thought this image was good because 1. he's so darn cute and 2. he's holding a candy cane which is part of my treat!

I coloured the image with copics, and used the oval nesties to cut him out, then added some Christmas ribbon.
I made this for my Sister. She's loves the peppermint kisses, and I found a recipe for Peppermint Bark puppy Chow on pinterest. Mine didn't turn out exactly like the pinterest photo, my chocolate started to burn so then I had to put it in a double boiler...wish I had started with that! Anyway it tastes good, so I hope she likes it.

Please join us in our challenge and upload your card or creation to the Riley and Company Blog. If You upload to any forums, please use the keyword RILEY2613.

Wishing You and your Families a Very Merry Christmas!

Freebie Friday Time at Bugaboo!

It's Freebie Friday time at Bugaboo Stamps, and this week it's this Cupcake! So make sure you hope on over to Bugaboo Stamps and get your Free!

I tried my hand at making a Diaper Fold Pouch I found on SCS here. My paper was only one sided, so I cut some dp to cover the white flaps. All the cardstock is from Recollections.

For the Cupcake, I coloured it with copics, and printed the image out twice so I could cut out the top of the cupcake and pop it up. I also covered it with stickles and the cherry with crystal effects.

I didn't really have anything on hand to put in my pouch, but you could add any little treat, cookie, or even crayons or something like that!

Make sure to stop by the Catch The Bug Blog to see what the other Designers have created!

RILEY2511, December Holiday Theme!

Hello, this weeks Riley and Company Challenge RILEY2511, is Hosted by Joy and she's challenging us to make something with the December holiday theme in mind!

This is a Secret Box, with a Grinch theme that I will be giving as a gift, I'm making 3 for the Grinch lovers in my life!

I coloured Riley as the Grinch with copics and added glitter to the fur on his outfit.
Here you can see the little box shelves, lots of room to add candy of presents!
I wanted to include some Grinch earrings, but was having trouble finding any in the stores, so I did the next best thing, and made my own!

I used white skrinky dink, and coloured using a sharpie for the red and prisma colour pencils for the rest. If you want to try this, just remember to make a hole for the hardware before you skrink it. They shrunk up beautifully and then all I had to do was add the earring hooks!

Make sure to check out what the others Designers have created for this challenge, you can find links to their Blogs on the right hand sidebar!

Please join us in our challenge and upload your creation to the Riley and Company Blog. If you upload to any forums, please use the keyword RILEY2511.
