RILEY1413, It's All About Sophie!

Hello, it's time for a challenge from Riley and Company! This weeks challenge RILEY1413 is from Michele, and she's challenging us to use Sophie. I needed some cards recently for my Kards For Kids group, so I used Dorothy Sophie for the card above.

The card base is bashful blue with a layer of white and then Recollections blue gingham. I made a faux brick road with some so saffron cardstock and a brick embossing folder.
For the second card I needed a Goldilocks themed card so I used  a tip from Joy aka Daiseyfreak, and omitted the spider  on the Miss Muffet Sophie stamp so she looks like Goldilocks eating her porridge!

The card base is lavendar lace with a layer of close to cocoa that I stamped with a teddy bear stamp I had from Hanna Stamps.

Sophie was coloured with copics and layered on a pink oval scallop and a label die, sorry I forget which one! Then I finished it with twine.

Please join us in our challenge and upload your creation to the Riley and Company Blog. If you upload to any forums, please use the keyword RILEY1413.

Heads up, Riley and Company sneak peeks start on Sunday July 14th!

RILEY1313, Stars!

Hello, it's time again for a Riley and Company Challenge, and this Jovita is challenging us to use or include stars on your card or project!

This is Tooth Fairy Riley. I coloured the image with copics, added some glitter and covered the tooth with crystal effects.

The card base is marina mist, with a layer of white, embossed with a star EF and then I rubbed a veramark pad on it and embossed it with irridescent ice EP.

The Smile sentiment is also from Riley and Company!

Please play along in our challenge, and upload your creation to the Riley and Company Blog. If you upload to any forums, please use the keyword RILEY1313.

RILEY1213, Use Up Those Die Cut Scraps!

Hello, it's time for another challenge from Riley and Company, and this week I'm challenging you to use up those die cut scraps or any scraps you have around. For my card today, I used Graduation Riley.

I also tried a new card design, this is a Diamond Origami Fold Card, I found the tutorial on Splitcoast. It's super easy and you can use one sided designer paper.  The black oval and yellow piece were found in my die cut stash, along with the stars I used on the inside.
This is where I've been keeping my unused die cuts and punched items, but as you can see I am outgrowing this and need a larger container, since I have trouble opening the drawers! lol The top drawer is where I keep my masks of different stamps. I stamp them onto copy paper and cut them out, then use repositionable glue on the back. This way if I use a stamp alot I only have to make the mask once!

So if you want to join in our challenge and use up some of those scraps, please upload creation to the Riley and Company Blog so we can have a look too! If you upload to any forums, please use the keyword RILEY1213.

Riley Sneak Peek Day #4!

Wow I've been loving all the Riley and Company Peeks this week, I hope you have too! I have another one for you today, this features a new Funny Bones sentiment 'Let's eat Grandma.'

I used papers from Recollections small Back to School pack. The star and fishtale were made with die-namics. The button is cardstock, and I made the pencil...it's super easy!

Take a round wooden toothpick and cut to size. I used copic C7 on the tip. Then the body of the pencil is Y38, and the eraser is RV34. I also used a silver copic atyou spica to go around between the yellow & pink!
For the inside I used some leftover cardstock and stamped schoolgirl Sophie!

Were getting closer, please join us tomorrow Thursday May 23rd, 10:00pm est for the Riley and Company Release and Blog Hop! There will be lots more inspiration and your chance to win some Blog Candy!

Hello, it's time for another fun challenge from Riley and Company! This week Cindy is challenging us to include spring flowers.

I used the Red Riding Moose from the Fairytale release. I guess these aren't really spring colours, other than the yellow, but flowers of any colours would be nice to see outside right now!

I coloured the image with copics, The card base is riding hood red. the dp is from My Minds Eye dilly dally. I used so saffron for the band across and embossed it with the lattice EF.

I also used the Sweet Sunday Sketch SSSC182

Please join us in our challenge and upload your card to the Riley and Company Blog for your chance to win! If you upload to any forums, please use the keyword RILEY0813!

RILEY0713, International Children's Book Day!

Hello, it's time for a Riley and Company Challenge! Today is International Children's Book Day and Hans Christian Anderson's birthday! So Frances is challenging us to get our inspiration from a Children's book this week!

When we were little, we always had Nursery Rhyme books and so did my kids, so I used Little Bo Sophie for my card today!

I coloured the image with copics. The card base is bashful blue, with a layer of white embossed with the swiss dot EF and the gingham on the bottom is from Recollections.

I used Spellbinders nested pennants for the fishtails, and finished it off with some twine.

The sketch is SSSC179.

Please play along in our challenge and upload your creation to the Riley and Company Blog for your chance to win! If you upload to any forums, please use the keyword RILEY0713.

RILEY1612, Back To School!

Hello, it's time for a Riley and Company Challenge! This weeks challenge is hosted by Jovita, and the challenge is Back To School!

I used School Boy Riley and SchoolGirl Sophie. I coloured them with copics. I think I'll give these to my Niece & Nephew, and their school colours are purple and grey.

I've always loved this rolo pencil idea, and wanted to give it a try, found this tutorial. I did make a couple changes, I used silver cardstock instead of foil, and I scored the yellow piece every 1/2".

eraser - regal rose (or pink) 1" x 3.5"
pencil - yellow 4.5" x 3.5" score every 1/2"
metal ring - silver scardstock 3/8" x 3.5"

Please join us in our challenge, and upload your creation to the Riley and Company Blog. If you upload to any forums please use the keyword RILEY1612. You can find more details on the Riley and Company blog,  there is a randomly drawn winner for each challenge!

Riley Fairy Tale Blog Hop!

Yeah it's finally here, all the new stamps as well as the word set are available now at Riley and Company!

This is the new Captain Riley Hook, I Love this one, and I'm still excited about this card!

I coloured The Captain with copics, and added some copic atyou spica in silver & gold, you can see it better in this picture.

I drew in the background with a copic 0.3 liner and coloured it in. Now Captain hook reminds me of the crocodile and his tick-tocking so I went with that. I made the crocodile with punches.

and this is the beautiful Snow White Sophie. I cut the frame with the labels 9 spellbinders & it's popped up.

You should have arrived here from Kelly's and now it's time to head on over to Jovita's! And just in case there's any glitches along the way, here's the complete hopping list.

This is the new Merry Maid for Riley and Company. I thought this would make a great card for a friend to give as a thank you. It could be for a maid, or someone who's helped you out while recovering from surgery etc.

I coloured the image with copics. The card base is so saffron with white embosses with a Daisies EF. The dp was from my scrap bin, so I can't remember where it's from!
I had a bit of dp left over, so I finished the inside and stamped just the duster.

It's time now for a challenge from the Design Team, and this weeks Hostess is Michele, and she's challenging us to create a card or project using both Riley and Sophie!

My Daughter's 19th Birthday was on Sunday, so I made her card using the new Strike Up The Band stamp which includes Riley, Sophie and some of their new friends! I did change the flag, I just measured the original and cut a piece of cardstock a similar size and trimmed it a bit with scissors to fit.

The image was coloured with copics. It's hard to see, but the blue strip is embossed with a music note EF. The sentiment is from the Everyday Sayings set.

The finished card size is 4"x7".
