Speedy's Challenge #44, Include food!

This is my card for this weeks Speedy The Cat's Friends Challenge! This weeks challenge is to include food on your card!

Before I tell you about my card & the challenge, I'd like to thank everyone on the Design Team and at Mark's Finest Papers! This is my last card as Guest Designer, and I have truely enjoyed every minute of it! Thank you so much for the opportunity to meet and work with such a great bunch of talented stampers!

Now I originally had pictured this done in pastels, but some how I got this idea in my head, and I just couldn't make anything else work! So it may not be your normal spring/Easter colours, but I like it!

I made tye-dye eggs by stamping the eggs by the basket from the Spring Has Sprung set onto some dp from the $ store!

The card base is black, with white embossed with the swiss dots. For the main panel, I cut put & piled up the eggs, and then I stamped the bunny from the In the Forest set in black, cut him out and popped him up.

I used an oval punch for the sentiment and finished it off with ribbon!

I hope you can join in the challenge, please make sure to upload your card to the Mark's Finest Finest Papers Blog for your chance to win! There's an awesome new prize package, here's all the info:

Participate in at least 3 of the challenges for the current month,[enter as many times as you would like - must be new projects, no back dating please-] for your chance to be a Guest Designer for the following month on the MFP Sr. Design Team. (Each time you participate, your name is entered in the drawing. The more times you participate, the more times your name is entered!)
The randomly chosen winner will have the choice of participating in the following month's Blog Hop, and will receive a Sr. DT Member package that will contain the 4 stamp sets that will be released in that month, along with papers, and embellishments. MMTPT134, and a Sneak Peek!

Hello, I have a Sneak Peek for you, This is one of the New stamps being released Tonight at Totally Stampalicious!

Make sure to stop back tonight, Thursday February 24th, 9pm est for the Totally Stampalicious Blog Hop and Release! As always, there will be Awesome samples & Fabulous Prizes!

So I made this card for this weeks Teapot Tuesday challenge MMTPT134, we're off the the Academy Awards! This weeks Destination Station is to Lauren, a very talented actress who is having some medical problems & needs some cheering up!

OK I think I'm addicted to these Sliding Pop-Up Cards, it's all I could think of when I read the Teapot Challenge! So here's another...

First I stamped Scarlette onto white and coloured with copics. Then I decided her dress needed more sparkle so I stamped her again onto shimmery white & cut out the dress. I coloured the ribbon on the shimmer paper, so it looks shimmery too! I also added gems for earrings and stickles along the bottom of her dress & that big ol' ring!
Now I had to figure out how to keep her tiny bits sturdy, & then a light bulb went off!!! I stamped Scarlette onto acetate with stazon, which created sturdiness and you can still see all the whisps!

So the cards base is real red, the background is barely banana and I used so saffron & daffodil delight to sponge in a ray of light. The curtain was made with my favorite dp from Anna Griffin. The top curtain panel is popped up a bit!

The bottom strip is black dp from SU along with a piece of real red for the carpet!

I chose the sentiment from Mark's Finest Papers - In The Forest set. It's so positive, and I hope it helps Lauren get through this difficult time!

I hope to see you tonight!

For my card today, I used Cookie Riley, he's coloured with copics.

The card base is early espresso, with a layer of pretty in pink, embossed with the butterfly EF on the top. The bottom is dp from s.e.i. I also added a strip of pink punched with the scallop edge!

I finished it off with some ribbon and a little glittery butterfly made with a MS punch!

Have a Great Day!

TSMONDAY, Blue, Green & Brown!

Hello, time for another Totally Stampalicious Monday challenge, and this week it's all about colour! Join us and create a card or project with Blue, Green & Brown. Then all you have to do is upload to Mr. Linky on the Totally Stampalicious Blog!

I used Mr. Fixit Gus. I coloured him with copics, and his coveralls are dp from Basic Greys Wander. I also added crystal effects to his glasses.

The card base is chocolate chip, with a layer of the dp from Basic Grey and then a strip of dp from Crate Paper's snow day!

I really wanted to add some gears, but I keep putting off buying the punch!!! So I looked through my ricut cartridges and all the cartridges I borrowed from my girlfriend, and no luck! So I made my own!

Homemade Gears: I used 3/4" circle punch, 7/8" circle punch and the 2 smallest inverted scallop circles nesties, one from the sm & one from the lg. pkg.

First I punched the circles, and then I taped the nestie in place and ran it through the big shot! Pretty easy and I think they pass for gears!

Reminder: Totally Stampalicious New Release and Blog Hop is this Thursday February 24th, 9pm est. Hope you can join us, there's awesome prizes and lots of inspiration!

Have a Great Day!

NEW PRIZE PACKAGE: Participate in at least 3 of the challenges for the current month,[enter as many times as you would like - must be new projects, no back dating please-] for your chance to be a Guest Designer for the following month on the MFP Sr. Design Team. For my card today, I added pink passion as my third colour. The image is from the new Greet the Day With Gerber set. It stamped so beautifully with really nice detail.

The satin ribbon also from Mark's Finest Papers. I just recently purchased the bow easy, and it really helps make bows much quicker and it's great for ribbon that's good on one side!

Lauren's Sliding Pop-Up Card!

Hello, I loved making the sliding pop-up card so much that I had to make another! This is for my Niece Lauren, she turned 10 on February 13th, and we are having our family Birthday Celebration for her this weekend!

Lauren loves to play school, so I used that as a theme for my card! You can find a picture and video tutorial here that shows how to make the sliding pop-up card!

My card base is real red. For the pop up background, I started with a piece of heavy white cardstock & then created the scene. I used a set from cdstamps.com called Little Learners (5842) and stamped the books along the bottom. I coloured them with copics and then stamped in the subject, which also comes in this set. I wanted it to look like a book shelf below the chalk board, so I added 1/8" strips of creamy caramel that are lightly sponged.

The chalk board frame is also creamy caramel, stamped with the wood grain background stamp, and then edges sponged with creamy caramel & close to cocoa. Then I attached it to black cardstock & glued the whole thing onto my pop-up background. I used some stamps for the words on the blackboard, stamped in craft white & I also wrote in her birthdate and name with a white pen.

Schoolgirl Sophie is from Riley and Company. I stamped her onto white with memento tuxedo black & coloured with copics.

I used acetate for the pop up mechanism so you can still see the background.

For the front slide out part, I wasn't sure what to put since the chalk board already says Happy Birthday! So I went with the best wishes sentiment from the Everyday Sayings set. The X's & O's along the edge are from a MS Valentine set from a couple years back!

Have a Great Day!

MMTPT133, MCWHOO AND MCWHOOLISTER SITTING IN A TREE!

Hello, this is my card for this weeks Teapot Tuesday challenge MMTPT133, McWhoo an McWhoolister Sitting in a Tree!

I've been dying to try the sliding pop-up card from last weeks Technique Lovers challenge TLC311, so I just had to use it today!

I also used today's colour challenge CC310, well I used a different green, hopefully that's ok!

Now this is one of those cards that I thought was going to be easy, and it would have been if I stuck to my original plan, which was pretty much the same, except the background was going to be either dp with clouds or a sponged cloud background!

But my Stampin Up order was due yesterday, and while flipping through the books I was inspired by page 2 of the sale-a-bration booklet and the beautiful cheery rainbow!

The owls are from the Love Bandit set, I stamped them with pacific point and cut them out. The tree and leaves were made with a die-namics from My Favorite Things. The grass was made with the MS edge punch.

The background is white and I sponged clouds in using a mask and soft sky & pacific point. The rainbow was made mosted with punches, the hearts, butterflies & stars were all from MS punches. The flower is from the SU bitty punch.

I ended up using acetate for the front pop up mechanism since the tree is so narrow and I didn't want to black out the rainbow!

The Destination Station this week is to Marie, the sister of SCSer/Teapotter PhilsMom (Fran, please follow the link to read her story!

I always struggle with what sentiment to use or what to say when sending a card to someone I don't know. But I wanted my card to be cheery so I thought this sentiment was appropriate!

I hope she likes it!

TSMONDAY, Bling It On!

Happy Valentines Day, it's time for the weekly challenge at Totally Stampalicious, and this weeks challenge is to bling it on, so I went crazy with the bling!

I was going to use Stupid Cupid Stella since it's Valentine's Day, but I decided to use JJ Cooks which could still double as a Valentine, specially if you're cooking for your Valentine!

I coloured JJ with copics, the pot is dp from Basic Greys Sugar rush, and so is the striped background. I used a Nellie die set MFD 020 and a circle nestie to cut out JJ and the mats. Then I added some bling around the image.

I bought the bling along the bottom a while back at Dollar Giant, and the glittery hearts are stickers that have been on my desk for awhile!

The sentiment is from the Bugaboo Brats boy (Sean) I stamped each word separately and punched them out with a MS heart punch. Then I added the stickers on top.

It's definitely a little more blingy than I'm used to, but I think it works!

Please join us in our challenge and upload your creation to the Totally Stampalicious Blog. Guest Designers will be chosen from those who participate in the challenges!

Have a Great Day!

MFP New Release, Spring Has Sprung!

Hello, it's New Release and Blog Hop time at Mark's Finest Papers! I made this card with a new set called Spring Has Sprung!

The card base is baja blue with a layer of MFP white that has texture. Then another blue piece that has a window made with a mega rectangle. I popped up the top layer.

The eggs were stamped onto Basic Grey's Olivia and the bows onto pink! They remind me of the beautiful painted European eggs. I curved each egg slightly by running it over the edge of my bone folder. Then I added dimensional tape down the centers.

RILEY0311, Chocolate Valentine!

If you're looking for the MFP post, you can find it here!

Hello, it's time for a Riley and Company Challenge! This weeks challenge is hosted by Therese and she's challenging us to make a chocolate themed Valentine! I made a heart shaped Valentine treat holder! You can find the tutorial for this on Valitia's Blog, it's so easy, and will hold some yummy treats!

I stamped Heart Riley onto white & coloured him with copics. I also stamped the heart and his hands again, cut it out & popped it up.

For the heart box, I cut 2 large scallop hearts from riding hood red and and 2 large hearts from very vanilla. Then I stamped them with the french script background stamp in Tim Holtz antique linen and sponged the edges with the same. As a final touch, I spritzed the vanilla pieces with gold smooch spritz, I'm not sure if you can see it in the photo!
Here's a side view, I thought I had some gold tissue paper, but couldn't find it so I used red and spritzed it with the gold too!

Please play along with us, and upload your creation to the Riley and Company Blog! If you upload to any forums please use the keyword RILEY0311!

I also want to share the card I made for today's Teapot Tuesday Challenge! Yep you heard that right, I have a Teapot card made the actually day of the challenge!!!!

This was made for MMTPT132, This Can't Be Right! There's Nuttin' In Sight!

I used Plane Riley and stamped him on white and coloured him with copics. I also stamped him on scraps of dp for the airplane!

Then I stamped plane Riley onto the background piece and sponged in the clouds using a mask and soft sky ink. I glued down the cut out plane and banner, popping up the end of the banner and the 2 small clouds.

The card base is black, with a layer of riding hood red and then the main panel. At the bottom I used the MS cityscape punch with basic grey and sponged the edges, then I popped that up.

This weeks Destination Station is Sean, he's 23 and battling cancer, please follow the link for all the info. I wanted to personalize it a bit, so the banner sentiment was hand written!

TSMONDAY, Valentine 3 Hearts!

Hello, Happy Monday! This weeks Totally Stampalicious Challenge is to make a Valentine with 3 hearts! Okay I went a little over board on the hearts, but the more hearts the better!

I used Stupid Cupid Stella, she's coloured with copics and added glitter to her wings. I also used last weeks MOJO sketch, MOJO176, but of course I used hearts instead of flowers!

This card was actually really easy, no intricate cutting or other fiddly stuff that I like, but it doesn't really look it!

The card base is real red, with a layer of white, embossed with the folder in the love language set by Provo Craft. The dp on the bottom is from DCWV text prints. I hand drew the curve and cut it.

All the flowers are made with the SU 3 heart punch, and the MS heart punch. I used real red, shimmery white and red glitter cardstock. I arranged these along the curve, some are popped up and so is the main image panel. I was trying to figure out how to fit one of the several sentiments on that Stella came with, and then I realized I could fit this one into the MS heart...perfect!

Please join us and upload your creation to the Totally Stampalicious Blog. They're still looking for Guest Designers, play in the Monday challenges for your chance to win!

Have a Great Day!

MMTPT131, Cherry, Cherry Mon Cherie!

Hello, well I'm not quite as late to this weeks Teapot Tuesday Challenge as I was last week, but there's still room for improvement!

This is my card for this weeks MMTPT131, Cherry, Cherry Mon Cherie! Cherry Cherry Go Jerry! Bet you can't say that 3 times fast! So as you probably guessed, we were to have cherries on our card!

The Destination Station this week is to Shari, she is Cindy's (Mothermark's) niece. She is battling breast cancer right now, and could use some cheering up! If you'd like to help cheer Shari up, just follow the link for all the info.

I used Breast Cancer Stella for my card, she's comes with several sentiments, but I really like this one because it's funny and positive! I coloured with copics, and paper pieced her dress and shoes. Then I added crystal effects to her glasses.

The card base is pear pizzazz, and then a layer of dp from Basic Grey's Lemonade, I'm so glad I had paper with cherries! I wanted to sew around the edges, but then I'd have to drag my machine out and find some thread blah..blah...blah so instead I pierced all around the edges and used my pear pizzazz marker to make it look like thread!

The main image is popped up, and I finished it off with some ribbon and a brad made with the dp!

I also used this weeks sketch challenge SC318, but I had to flip it for this image!

Have a Great Day!

The randomly chosen winner will have the choice of participating in the following month's Blog Hop, and will receive a Sr. DT Member package that will contain the 4 stamp sets that will be released in that month, along with papers, and embellishments. The winner will also receive a blog button and a watermark for their MFP creations.
How exciting is this! Oh so fun - we can't wait to see what you create, and who will be the next GD!!

Sneak peek alert, for today's card, I used a new set called Greet The Day With Gerber. It will be released along with 3 other new sets on Tuesday February 8th, which will also be the first day of the Mark's Finest Papers Blog Hop!

The cardbase is so saffron, with a layer of white, and then another layer of white that I stamped with a flower head and so saffron.

The frame was made with the Label#9 dies. The sentiment was embossed with white onto a tag from the Spellbinders fancy tag set. I love how delicate it is and it embossed beautifully! I attached the tag to the frame and popped it up.

The flower was made using 3 marvy punches. The branches were made with the SU 2 step bird punch. I sponged the edges a bit and added a flat back pearl to the center.

I finished it off with some ribbon and pearls, I really like the way this turned out!

Have a Great Weekend,

MMTPT130, Double the Fun!

Hello, well I'm really late with this one, maybe I should change my name to Laurie the Late! lol Well I made this for last weeks Teapot Tuesday challenge MMTPT130, IT'S PINK AND IT'S BLUE! IT'S ALL ABOUT TWO! THROW A MONKEY IN THERE TOO!, The destination station being to the new Parents of twins, who just happen to be the newest Grandbabies to Pat aka Kokirose!

I used this cute little monkey stamp from Clear Dollar Stamps called Monkey Surprise! I stamped it twice and coloured one blue & one pink! I used the mega scallop rectangle for the mat, but I had to cut some out of the middle to get it to fit!

The dp is from DCWV Nana's Nursery and I finished it with some ribbon and a button from SU!

Have a Great Day!

TSMONDAY, Hello!

Hello, well it's been snowing non-stop here for the second day! The storm wasn't as bad here as predicted thank goodness, but it's a snow day, all the schools are closed and Olivia & I have been watching movies and stamping inbetween shovelling that is!

This is my card for the Totally Stampalicious Monday challenge, to make a non celebration/occasion card and just make a Hello card! Mine is more of a hey you with a tease! lol

This is Stampalicious Scarlette, she is only available at Totally Stampalicious and is a promotional stamp. You can get Stampalicious Scarlette free with an order of $50. before shipping!

I also used the 'Hey Girlfriend' sentiment from the 'Scarlette I'm so Excited' set and the other sentiment (which I altered a bit) from the Mr. Fixit set. All of these are Bugaboo images available in stamp form at Totally Stampalicious!

I coloured scarlette with copics, added a couple spots of copic atyou spica, and sponged the edges with Tim Holtz antique linen.

The card base is black, with a layer of vanilla and dp. Sorry the pink dp was a scrap so I don't remember where it's from. The leopard has black velvet on it, I got it at Michael's.

The tickets were made using the SU Admit It set and sentiment from Totally Stampalicious.

Please join in our challenge, and upload your creation to the Totally Stampalicious Blog!
