Manly Road Hawg, Monday Challenge!

Hello, I made this for the 2nd Monday challenge TSMONDAY2 over at the brand new Totally Stampalicious stamp company! We were to make it manly!I combined this with the TLC240 foil embossing.

The first thing I thought of when combining these 2 challenges was the diamond plate EF. I didn't have one yet, so I had to go pick one up at our local stamp store!

I started with a riding hood red card base (I'm so going to miss this colour when I run out!) and sponged the edges. The dp is from Memory Keepers Teen Angst. The 12x12 edges were black, so I cut it to fit & sponges the cut eges black. I covered a piece of cardstock with tin foil, and embossed with my new diamond plate EF, then attached this and added brads to the exposed corners.

The Hawg was so fun to colour, and don't you love his shocking green bike! You can't really tell, but I added sakura stardust pen to the pipes & handle bars. I popped this panel up.

The mailman brought me the new nestie Fancy Tags today, which were a surprise from my Husband, so I had to try and work one in. I cut out a black tag, squished it into my versamark pad, & added clear EP. What's great about this tag, the SU oval fits perfectly in the center. I stamped the sentiment in black & sponged the edge with silver.
You should come & play, the contest runs til Sunday, and you could win a $25. gift certificate to Totally Stampalicious! You don't have to use there stamps, but if you win, you could get some free!

Have a Great Day!

C4C4 Christmas Cards!

Hello, I made this card using Cindy Haffner's sketch on the Crazy for Challenges blog C4C4. I love Cindy's sketches, they totally inspire me!

I've been slowly reorganizing my craft area, and came across this already stamped & torn piece of vanilla. The background was stamped with gold but it almost looks like a pale green. I backed it with cranberry crisp. The card base is always artichoke.

The cute little Elf is a new release from Hanna Stamps. I stamped her onto very vanilla & coloured with copics. I used my quickie glue pen to add gold glitter to the ornament, belt buckle & bells on her hat. This panel is popped up.

Then I added some ribbon, which was the starting point for picking my colours!

This is another card I made using the same sketch.

The snowman image is from Sunshine Designs. I stamped him with noir black palette onto cardstock from the SU naturals pack. I coloured in very little with copics. I also added snowdots with the quickie glue pen & crystal snow. I was disappointed with this glitter, it's not sparkly like the SU stuff.

For the snowflakes, I made 2 of the same from the sizzix dies & glued them together to make them thicker & I did the same with 2 from a MS punch. Then I put them together with a glue dot & added the knotted ribbon on top.

Thanks for stopping by, Have a Great Day!

Laurie

Thankgiving & Pumpkin Pie!

Hello, this is my card for the Friday challenge on the Hanna Stamps forum, HSC88. This weeks challenge is hosted by Frances aka StampOwl, we are to make a card or project using fall colours. I also used the sketch challenge SC246
What a perfect time to use fall colours, and my new Farmers Riley!
I stamped the happy couple in noir black palette onto white and coloured with copics. All of the dp is from the SU autumn vine set from last year. The sentiment is from Everyday Sentiments from Hanna Stamps.

Studdly You Are One Hawt Dawg!

There's a brand new stamp company in town, Totally Stampalicious, and I made this for there very first challenge TSMONDAY1, which can be found on there blog!

This challenge was to make a funny birthday card. I used the 'Hawt Dawg' set. I had several good ideas for a sentiment, but of course I couldn't get either of our 2 printers to work! so image it says Happy Birthday stud, you've still got it! lol

He is kinda studdly don't ya think!

I used the tent topper layout, black, only orange & Harley Davidson dp. The faux firey edge is made with the MS icicle punch. I used leather jewelry cord to tie on the sentiment.

Hawt Dawg Studdly was stamped with memento tuxedo black, and coloured with copics & popped up.

Happy Thursday,
Laurie

Birthday Gift Bag!

Hello, I made this for the Hanna Stamps Friday Challenge on the Hanna Stamps Forum HSC87 . This weeks challenge is hosted by Cindy, and we were to make a Genie Bag you can find the tutorial here. I also used this weeks wednesday tutorial again felted cardstock, the background paper with the balloons was originally a napkin!

I even broke out my new in colours for this one, melon mambo & crushed curry. The image is the new 'Happy Birthday Hanna' I love the look of surprise on her face. I stamped her with memento tuxedo black onto white, & coloured her with copics. I used the oval nesties to cut her out & all the mats.

The happy birthday banner is also in this set, I stamped it in melon mambo, cut it out & popped it up.

The bag is just a regular lunch bag, cut to about 7" then I used the medium oval punch to make handles.

Hope you're having a great day, don't be afraid to leave a comment, or I'll start thinking I'm talking to myself!

Falling leaves!

Hello, I managed to try 2 new techniques on this card and I used the layout from the new Crazy for Challenges group C4C3.

Of course I had to make things difficult & try the 5-layer buttons TLC239 using a very small punch, but it was the only leaf punch I had that would work, and I was dying to try this technique. I'm definitely going to do this again but with a larger piece. My leaf was so small & I was using SU cs so I only used 4 layers.

I also tried this weeks felted cardstock technique & although I had a bit of trouble getting the saran wrap to adhere to the cardstock, in the end I loved the results. The background leaf pattern is or was my napkin. You can find the tutorial here: felted cardstock

So I used the new Fall Time Hanna for this one, and stamped her with memento tuxedo black. I coloured her with copics, and decided for the 1st time to colour in the background. I'm not too sure I like how it turned out, but it's done now! lol

The pumpkin pie strip was embossed with the pumpkin harvest EF and then I sponged on a bit of pumpkin pie & close to cocoa ink.

Hows your day going?

He's Going to Be a Teenager!!!!

Hello, I made this for a friend of the family who's turning 13 soon, oh where does the time go!

The card base is brilliant blue, with a layer of white. I cut 4 panels of glorious green, stamped them with a stamp from the 'itty bitty background' set & sponged the edges using the glorious green ink. Then I matted these on black.

The center panel is Soccer Riley. I masked out the #7 which was on the shirt & used a fine tip marker to make the #12. The image is coloured with copics.

The soccer balls are from the See D's mighty sporty set.The star is made with the SU large star punch. The sentiment is from the 'riveting' set. I popped the star and the soccer balls up.

Hope he likes it.
Have a Great Day!

Carly's turning 3!!!!

Hello, this is a card I made for my Niece Carly for her 3rd birthday. I used the layout from C4C2, but got behind last week fighting off this infection, so I was too late to submit it! I also used last weeks colour challenge CC236, whisper white, soft suede, pretty in pink.

It may sound crazy giving a 3 year old a golf card, but it fit the theme of her gift, a Gatorgolf game.

I used Golfing Riley, and made little shorts from a scrap of dp. The image was coloured with copics. I used the sakura stardust pen to make the golf club look metallic, and the ball is covered in crystal effects.

The card base is soft suede, the a layer of pretty in pink. The 4 panels are white, 2 embossed with the tiny bubbles EF, and 2 with the Happy Birthday EF. Then I covered them with versamark, and heat embossed with iridescent ice EP. The main image was cut with square nesties and it's popped up.

Have a Great Day!

It Feels Like Christmas!

... bah humbug! actually it's still far enough away that I can enjoy making Christmas cards, I'm not stressed out at the thought of Christmas....yet!
So my friend Sandee showed me a magazine she bought that's full of Christmas cards, and so I have been inspired. I even went out & bought my own copy!

So the layout on each of these cards was inspired by cards I saw in the magazine.

I came across the "Santa Collage' stamp image last year, and wanted it so bad! Of course there were none to be found. Then my Husband found one on ebay, I think from the UK and he surprised me with it! The company has since re-released it, and I've even seen it at Michael's. But mine is still special!

For this card, I stamped Santa with close to cocoa onto very vanilla. The ovals were cut with the nesties, and this part is popped up.

The card base is kraft, with a layer of riding hood red dp. Then I embossed a piece of kraft with the Christmas ornament EF. I have been dying to use this EF, but every time I think I have the perfect idea for it, it just doesn't seem to work, I think it works here!

The ribbon is from last Christmas, and was so easy to work with.

The snowflake brad was white, but I coloured it with a copic E53 so it would blend in.

This card uses the Winter Post set, and the Short & sweet set for the sentiment & snowflake on the larger circle.
The skaters were stamped in blue bayou onto very vanilla, and I did the same with the snowflake stamp. The circles were all cut with nesties. There's dazzling diamonds on the snowflakes, and the centre panel is popped up.
I also used one of the dies in the new sizzix Lots of tags set to make the sentiment tag.
This card uses the Deer from Merry & Bright, and the sentiment is from Heritage & Holiday.
I used kraft, riding hood red, and the dp is called candy lane, I think it was from Valentines!
I love the taffeta ribbon, I wish SU would make it in all colours!
So there you have it, I hope I've inspired you to get a jump on those Christmas cards!
Have a Great Day!

Safari Hanna found a Vampire!

Hi Everyone, still a bit under the weather, but I do have some new stuff to show you!

First is the new Safari Hanna! This is just a part of her, as I had to make her fit the sketch challenge! This was made for the Friday challenge on the Hanna Stamps forum at SCS. HSC86, is hosted by Kerry D-C, and it's a sketch challenge.

This was the first time I inked up Safari Hanna and what fun!

The card base is garden green, with a layer of black, and then a layer of creamy caramel! I crumpled it up, distressed the edges and inked it up with creamy caramel, more mustard & a bit of close to cocoa ink. The black panel on the bottom is just a piece of black cardstock with the top layer pealed off so it has a softer look.

The zebra panel was made with a stamp from "Simply Safari' from Stampendous. I stamped in versamark onto white, & embossed with black EP. The main image was stamped with memento black & coloured with copics.

This is another tent topper card, and I also used last weeks colour challenge CC235, black, elegant eggplant & old olive.

The image got a bit washed out in the light, don't know why, but I've taken about 20 pics & they
all look the same!

Vampire Riley was stamped with noir black & coloured with copics. The card base is black, with a layer of old olive that has the edge punched with the MS drippy goo punch. The purple is Bo Bunny paper embossed with the spiderweb EF.

The sentiment is from Spooky Silhouettes(GinaK). I used the Provo craft tiny tags die to cut it out. I unfortunately don't have a spider punch (say what!) so I Olivia suggested I use the bat punch, I guess it works!

Have a Great Day!

Teacher/Classroom Gift!

Hello, sorry this isn't the best picture, but I just wanted to share this jar I made for my Daughter's Teacher & the classroom.
I totally cased this from the awesome Katie on the CDS blog. She always has the best ideas.

This was very inexpensive to make too! I used a canning jar I picked up at the 2nd hand store. The DP is basic grey. The stamps for the tag & the jar are both from the Teacher Treats set from cleardollarstamps.
The sentiment on the jar was stamped onto white, cut out with the nesties label #9 die & then I cut a large piece from brilliant blue & turned it, then I attached it with brads to the dp.
The tag got washed out by the light, but it was stamped onto white, coloured with copics & layered onto an only orange tag.

SU Birthday & Christmas!

Hello everyone, I caught some horrible bug over the weekend! Came on pretty sudden, it's that awful cold/fever type stuff & now it's moved into my chest! I think the kids went back to school & brought home all the germs! lol

Anyway to pass the time I have been able to sneak in a bit of time at my craft table. First off is a card I made for Olivia's friend Daisy! I used SC245 for the layout, although I changed panel #3 to a circle & kinda flipped the layout! I think it still counts! lol

I was undecided what to make for Daisy this year, but when I saw the Limited supplies challenge this week LSC237, I let it guide me!

Old stamp - Cool Cat, I think it was the 1st set I bought!

New Tool - Daisy texture plate...I got a big shot for my birthday last week!

Favorite Colour Combo - I love the colour combo of this SU dp (can't remember the name)

Least Favorite embellishment - would be primas hands down, but I dislike them so much I don't own any! So although I love these tiny gems, my big hands fumble with them alot trying to get them where I want!

Daisy and her family just got a new pale orange kitten named 'Mister'...he's so cute! So Cool Cat seemed like a good choice. I stamped him in apricot appeal & then ran a pumpkin pie marker around the edges.

The crown was stamped in versamark & embossed with iridescent ice EP, same for the scrap DP on the collar.

The sentiment is from 'So many scallops' I coloured it with markers, & the candle flames have dazzling diamonds glitter on them.

Daisy's Mom Sandee lent me a new magazine she bought with christmas cards. There were so many great ideas, and this was inspired by a card I saw.
The card base is from the naturals, I think it's ivory. The center is Candy lane dp, and I used edge punches on some riding hood red, and close to cocoa.

The little deer from the Merry & Bright set was stamped onto the natural ivory. I added a tiny gem for his nose, and popped this up on a red scalloped circle layered onto a 1 3/4" close to cocoa circle.

I finished it off with the riding hood red taffeta ribbon. I wish they made the taffeta in all the colours, I love it & it's so easy to work with.
Have a Great Evening!

Red & Silver Christmas!

Hello, I made this for the sketch challenge on the Flourishes Forum, FLLCSEPT. This also fits the ways to use it challenge this week WT235, revved up for red. I'm drawn to red, I love most shades, so this was too much of a stretch for me. I don't have a whole lot of red showing, just enough to make it pop!

I love the ornaments in the Flourishes 'All that glitters' set, so although we're heading into fall, I used this opportunity to get a Christmas card made!

The card base is real red, with a layer of silver. I also have a panel of white, embossed with the swiss dot EF, and I used a snowflake edge punch. The image was stamped onto white, embossed with silver & mounted onto real red. This panel is popped up. The sentiment is from the 'Poinsetta & Boxwood' set, and also embossed with the silver.

I finished it off with some red satin ribbon!

Have a Great Day,

Laurie

The Debut of Crazy 4 Challenges!

Hello, I bought these cute little snowmen stamps at my local stamping store yesterday, and couldn't wait to combine one with the 1st ever Crazy for Challenges challenge!

I stamped the snowman in noir black & coloured with copics...not a whole lot of colouring but I did use some copics! lol and of course snowmen have to have dazzling diamonds glitter!

The card base is bashful blue, with a layer of white embossed with the snowflake EF, and a strip punched from the new MS icicles edge punch & dipped in dazzling diamonds. The circles were all cut with the nesties, except the 2 small ones for the sentiment, I used punches for those. The ribbon is SU taffeta bashful blue.

The snowmen stamps are from Sunshine Designs.

Have a Great Day!

You can't tell from the photo, but the surf board is covered in crystal effects. I distressed the edges, crumpled & pierced the red piece, & embossed the yellow piece. It's almost School Time!

Hello, I made this for the September Hanna Stamps HSSEPT09, hosted by Jeanne. We were to use sewing. I also used last weeks sketch challenge SC244.

My Daughter Olivia is going back to school tomorrow, and she will have a male Teacher to start off the year as her regular Teacher is off on maternity leave. I had wanted to use school girl Sophie to make the Teacher a card, but Olivia thought the boy would be better!
I coloured Riley with copics, and added crystal effects to his glasses & the apple.

Have a Great Day!

Primary Painter

Hi Everyone, I haven't posted much lately, but I have been busy! I have been wanting/needing to expand my crafting area, so I decided to get started on that last week! I'm not done, but I can see the light at the end! lol It's going to be so much better!

Yesterday was my birthday so I had a great day, many phone calls from friends and family as well as visitors! I truely am fortunate to have so many wonderful people in my life! Later in the afternoon, Andre & I went out for pedicures, a movie & dinner...it was a great day!

I know Shannon has probably been wasting her time checking to see whats new here so I think I should post a new card today! lol

I made this for the August new set challenge hosted by Frances (Stampowl) on the Hanna Stamps forum. We were to make something using the new set 'Painter Hanna', and the primary colours red, yellow & blue!

I stamped Hanna & coloured her with copics then cut her out. I put her on ovals made with the nesties. The background was made with a stamp in the set, but of course it's supposed to look like Hanna painted it!

I also added crystal effects to the paint, and I think you can actually see it in this photo! I used the MS drippy goo edge punch to make the dripping paint. It's always great to find new uses for your punches!
I do have another card made, but may not have time to post today since I still have to get some groceries and we're off to my Mom's for dinner.
Have a great day!
