Anything Goes Saturday Challenge!

Hello, it's challenge time at Bugaboo's Catch The Bug, and this weeks challenge is Anything Goes!

For my card today, I used one of the new Hedgehogs...this is March Hedgie from Bugaboo Stamps. I coloured him with copics and added some green glitter to the clover.

The card base is white, with a layer of green from Recollections and then another layer of white embossed with a Shamrock embossing folder. The piece of designer paper is also from Recollections and the strip across is gold glimmer paper from SU.

I also used this weeks MOJO Monday challenge MOJO437

Please make sure to join our challenge and upload your creation to the Catch The Bug Blog for your chance to win!

Have a Great Day!

ABC, Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! It's Anything But A Card Day at Catch The Bug, and I have a treat holder for you today that I'm calling  St. Patrick's Day Pockets of Gold!

I used Edward Elephant Happy St. Patrick's Day  from Bugaboo Stamps to decorate the front. I coloured him with copics. Then layered him on glittery gold cardstock from the $ store and early espresso.

I got this idea from a kittystamp at SCS she posted this awesome treat holder, here's  her Blog Post with a tutorial. I altered it just a bit, I started with a piece 4.25" x 11" and scored in the same place she did.

Instead of using treat bags, I made 2 pockets with designer paper (this works best with paper weight). Sorry my photo isn't the best, but I started with a piece 8.5" x 8" then score at 2" and 6" along the 8.5" side.

. Fold on the score lines and use double sided tape to seal. This puts the seam in the middle so you won't see it.
Then score down the middle at 4" and add double sided tape down the center of the middle and on the outside of each pocket to glue inside the cardstock holder.
You can see in the photo below how it looks when together but open.
To make the cards for the pockets. I used a piece of cardstock 4.25" x 3 5/8". I used the SU envelope punch board for the notches at the top. Then I used double sided tape to glue down the chocolate coins.
What a fun easy way to give a gift and or a treat!

Have a Great Day!

Bugaboo & FS214 Challenges!

Hello, I combined two challenges for this card! First the Bugaboo challenge on the Catch the Bug Blog, use scallops and I also used this weeks Bugaboo Freebie 'Coffee Time'! This weeks featured stamper FS214 is bfinlay, I chose this card to case!

I coloured the image with copics. The card base is garden green, with a layer of dp from Cosmo Crickets garden variety! I used Tim Holtz antique linen to sponge on the white pieces so they looked like the dp!

I used an oval scallop nestie, and an EK scalloped edge punch.

This is going to be a St. Patrick's Day card, so I added some shamrocks made with a fiskars punch.

Have a Great Day!

Hanna Stamps Challenges - February

Hello, I made these for challenges 1&2, posted during the release party. If you like the stamps from Hanna Stamps (I love them) then you should check out the challenges on the Hanna Stamps forum at SCS. There's a challenge posted every Friday, and during each release party (usually at the beginning of the month) there's challenges posted & chances to win FREE stamps!

The first challenge was to use fabric. I also anted to make a card for my Niece's birthday. The slumber party Hanna was perfect for this, and my original idea was to use sheer ribbon to make curtains or one of those sheer things that are usually on a ring over the head of the bead (for the life of me I can't think of the name!!!) anyway that was working to my satisfaction, so then I took another root, til I ended up here! lol The ribbon is stitched & gathered to make a flower/rosebud valance! The centers are crystal brads.

I hope she likes it!
This is the 2nd challenge, we were to make a card with different shape. There were some great ideas, check out the Hanna stamps Gallery. I decided to get a jump on St. Patrick's Day, and make a clover.

That's it for Today,
Have a great one!
