TSMONDAY--Late-Anything Goes!

Hello, well better late than never, I made this for the Totally Stampalicious Monday Challenge, anything goes!

I figured I'd take a break from Christmas cards, and use the New Truck Gus! I stamped him with memento tuxedo black, and coloured him and his truck with copics.

I picked the colours from the Basic Grey wander paper. The card base is not quite navy with a layer of more mustard embossed with the diamond plate EF and edges sponged.

This is also the first time I've used Mercy's Tuesday sketch MTSC102!

Everyone is welcome to join in the challenge, and it's really easy, make anything and upload it to Mr. Linky on the Totally Stampalicious Blog for your chance to win something!

Have a Great Day!

RILEY2310, Christmas!

Hello, it's time for a Riley and Company Challenge! This week Frances is challenging us to think Christmas!

The latest release from Riley and Company is perfect for this, and today I'm using the new Antlers Riley! I coloured him with copics and added tiny gems to his antlers.

The card case is handsome hunter with a layer of cherry cobbler and then dp, it was a scrap so I don't remember where it's from, sorry!

I cut Riley out with circle nesties and a lacey circle nestie and popped this up. The edges of the white were sponged with Tim Holtz antique linen.

The sentiment it from the 'Things Riley Might say' set I punched it out with the word window.

I finished it off with some twine and a bell!

Everyone is welcome to join in the fun, you can leave a comment with a link to your card on the Riley and Company Blog. If you upload to forums, please use the keyword RILEY2310.

Have a great Day,

Happy Birthday Jackie!

Hello, I made this for my Sisters Birthday! Every since I saw this image called Stepsisters, from Mo Manning, I knew I wanted to make my sister a card with it. Stamping Bella has this and several other Mo Manning images in stamp form, so I made sure to pick one up when I went to a big Craft Convention in Toronto last month!

I stamped the image with memento black, the lines are so fine, what a beautiful stamped image! I coloured the girls in with copics, and added some liquid pearl to their necklaces.

I used this weeks sketch challenge CC308.

The card base is certainly celery, with a layer of white embossed with hearts. I also used pretty in pink and so saffron cardstock. All the dp is from DCWV Nana's Nursery!

Have a great Day!
Laurie

Happy Birthday Sue!

Hello, I made this for my friend Birthday! She is also my Stampin Up dealer, so I used all SU products on this one!

I was totally inspired by this card by Sandi MacIver! I know hers is a Christmas card, but wreaths can be used all year long so I figured it would also work as a Birthday card. This is a Tent Topper card, the base is 4.25 x 8.5" scored in half. Then you attach the circle so that the top over hangs the edge and it measures 5.5" total!

I used one of my favorite colour combos, because I know Sue likes it too! The card base is black, with a layer of cherry cobbler and then a layer of very vanilla. I embossed the vanilla with the square lattice embossing folder and sponged the edges with Tim Holtz antique linen (ok that's not SU!)

The black circle is 3" punch, the cherry is a circle nestie, and the vanilla is a 2.5" circle punch. The wreath branches were made with old olive & the 2 step bird punch. The little flowers were made with the bitty punch. I made the brads sparkle a little by first coating them with black embossing powder and then iridescent ice embossing! The ribbon is the black taffeta, love that stuff!

To balance it out, I added the strip on the bottom with the sentiment from Warmest Regards. The flower here is slightly bigger, I used the 3 flower punch for this one.

I hope she likes it!

Speedy's Challenge #31, Add a Bow!

Hello, I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! It's time for this weeks Speedy the Cat's Friends challenge #31, this week Vicki is challenging us to include a bow on our card or project.

Please make sure to upload your creation to the Mark's Finest Papers Blog, for your chance to win a FREE stamp set! There is one winner for every 50 entries, you can enter as often as you'd like. If you use Mark's Finest Papers stamps, your name will be entered twice!

For my card today, I used the Greetings of The Season set, I love this cardinal! I can't take credit for this card design, I was totally inspired by these cards by Becca Freeken, so I decided to try something similar!

I used the labels #8, the second largest is the card base, this way it will still fit into a regular envelope. Then I used the next size down for the black and real red. I trimmed around the embossed edge of the red piece so you can see the black.

I stamped the cardinal onto watercolour paper and picked up colour from the lids of my ink pads with a paint brush.

I finished it off with the bow and a music note charm, also from Mark's Finest Papers!

I look forward to seeing your creation!

Have a Great Day!

MOJO166, Fruitcake Stella!

Hello, This is an image I won for last weeks Catch The Bug Challenge! I got to pick 2 images from Bugaboo stamps, so I picked Fruitcake Stella as one! I think she's hilarious, but I actually like fruitcake!

I'm also using this weeks MOJO Monday sketch MOJO166. I've never played before, but always notice the great MOJO sketches in the SCS gallery and on blogs!

I coloured Stella with copics and sponged the edges with Tim Holtz antique linen.

The card base is always artichoke with a layer of cherry cobbler, all edges sponged. The bottom dp is from Basic Grey's Jovial, and the top was embossed with an EF from the preserves set.

I used circle punches for the sentiment and backing, and it's popped up. I finished it off with some always artichoke ribbon and some gold beads.

Have a Great Weekend!

Catch the Bug Challenge and Tutorial!

Hello, I made this for the Catch the Bug Challenge, Gearing up for Christmas! We have 2 Teens and one 10 year old who loves to shop with her Sister, so Gift Card Holders come in handy at Christmas time!

I used Poppixmas snowballs to make this gift card holder, I've included a picture tutorial below. Poppi is a Digi Bugaboo Image, he's one of several Christmas Penguins available! I coloured Poppi in with copics, and added some glitter to the snow. The main image is matted on real red and popped up on the garden green base. I also stamped snowflakes onto the base using a background stamp I have from Local King Rubber Stamp. The ribbon helps tie the holder closed.
Top make the gift card holder, start with a piece of cardstock 4.25" x 11" (half a sheet).

Score at 4", 5.5" & 7".

Fold the card as shown below.
Add scor tape or adhesive to the edges as shown below.

Now your cardstock should look like this!

Make an opening for your gift card. I used the word window punch and a circle punch for the center.
You can see below what it looks like with a gift card in it, unfortunately this is an empty card I used already! lol
There you have it, super easy to make and decorate, and it fits into a regular envelope!

Have a Great Day!

Totally Stampalicious SALE!

Hello, Just wanted to let you know there's a SALE going on at Totally Stampalicious! It's a Black Friday Sale, but this one is Friday, Saturday and Sunday! Both the Willameana and Snowmen Sets are on sale for $9.95 each, and that includes the Digi Sets too!

I made the card above using the Snowmen set. It was really easy to make this cute Snowman family. First I stamped the snowman onto regular copy paper twice and cut them out to use as masks. Then I stamped the smaller one in the front, cover it, stamp the Mom, and then cover her and stamp the Dad, voila!

I stamped their hats and scarves separately, coloured them and cut them out. The snowmen themselves don't need much colouring, I used BG10 around the outsides, C-1 on the snowmen, YR68, YR16 for the carrot nose and R00 for the cheeks.

The white background was made with a background stamp from Local King Rubber Stamps. First I covered it with versamark and then baja breeze, and then I embossed it with iridescent ice EP. It has a nice sparkle, but you can't see it in the photo. I added glitter around the edge of the main image too.

The sentiment is from 'Let it snow Stella'.

Happy Shopping!

CASwinter10CR, Mother's Day!

Hello, this is my entry for the second round of the CAS winter design team challenge! Sorry the photo isn't the best!

The second challenge was to make a card for a family member, I chose Mother's Day because I had this great stamp!

Both the sentiment and butterfly are from Mark's Finest Papers set called Daffodil & Anise.

I stamped the sentiment in black and the butterfly too. The butterfly is covered with Niji pearlescent watercolours, you can see the shimmer better in the second photo. The oval and the butterfly are popped up.

I scored the edges and added some yellow gems in the corners.

Have a Great Day!

CAS94, Attempt #3!

Hello again, this is my card for this weeks clean & simple challenge CAS94, sponging! Well CAS does not come easy to me, so it took me 3 tries to get something I liked! I entered a card into the CAS winter design team challenge on SCS and made it though the first round, woohoo, so I have to get better at these CAS cards, they really are a challenge for me! lol

So this is my card for today, the card base is marina mist. I used the sizzix swirly die to make a mask and then sponged in craft white to make the swirls.

The snowflakes were made with the sizzix northern frost die, I fancied them up a bit by adding some glue to the tips and dipping them in glitter.

The sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers set 'Ferns & Chickadees'. I punched it out with the MS tag punch.

I finished it off with some white taffeta ribbon!

Have a Great Day!

Speedy's Challenge #30, Circles!

Hello, and welcome to this weeks Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #30! This week we are challenging you to add a circle on you card or project!

My card was really easy to make. I love the combo of the new cherry cobbler, black and the newsprint dp, so I made my own!

The card base is cherry cobbler, with a layer of black and then a layer of very vanilla. To make the background, I stamped the music sheet stamp from the Mark's Finest Papers set called 'Musical Holiday'. First I stamped it in the middle, and then on some scrap paper and cut it out to use as a mask. Then I stamped it on the sides to fill in the vanilla piece. The edges were antiqued by sponging on Tim Holtz antique linen.

I added the some MFP black satin ribbon. Then I stamped the music note in black, punched with circles and sponged the edges. The circles are all popped up for dimension.

I hope you can join us in this weeks challenge. Make sure to upload your creation to the Mark's Finest Papers Blog for your chance to win. There is a free stamp drawn for every 50 entries! If you use Mark's Finest Papers stamps, you will be entered twice. You may enter as often as you like.

The card base is 8'5"x4.25", score in half and then I attached the image so that it measures 5.5" in height!

The dp is from a K&Co. pad called peppermint twist. I finished off with some ribbon and the tree was a brad, I cut the back off and attached it with glue dots!

Please join in our challenge and leave a comment on the Riley and Company Blog with a link to your creation! If you upload to a forum please use the keywords RILEY2210.

I used the new Snowglobe Riley! Wait till you see all the New Riley's, there's 10 and you're going to love them!

This was a really easy fast card, but I really like how it turned out! I coloured the image with copics, then added glitter and cut it out.

I coloured Sophie with copics, and added some glitter to the swirl under her skate and around the whole edge of the circle. I used circle nesties and a pinking circle to back the image and then popped up the whole thing.

I finished it off with some ribbon and I also cut out a couple of the stars in the dp and popped them up!

TSMONDAY, Paper Piecing!

Hello and Happy Monday! This is my card for today's Totally Stampalicious Challenge, paper piecing! When I was first introduced to stamping, like many it was Stampin Up, and looking through the book & seeing things cut out I thought...I'll never do that! ha I actually love it...I know crazy!

This is Let it Snow Stella! I stamped her onto vanilla neenah and coloured with copics. Don't ya just love her plaid coat, boots & hat! I used Basic Grey's Jovial pad for the plaid and the hmmm is it cream, yellow...not sure but I used it for the coat trim, muff, hat & scarf!

So when I first had this idea I thought it was going to look much better! I do love Stella, but I'm not totally thrilled with the background! I used the swirl frame embossing folder and embossed the poppy parade, then I went over the raised bits with a black sparkly sakura gelly roll pen...it does look better is you see the glitter.

The main middle panel is popped up, and I covered the little embossed stars with vanilla snowflakes!

So if you can play along that would be great, just upload your creation to the Totally Stampalicious Blog! There's usually a prize for a randomly drawn winner, and if you play, you may also win the chance to be the next Guest Designer!

BLOG HOP ALERT: This Thursday November 18, join the Totally Stampalicious Blog Hop at 9 pm. Look for 4 new fantastic sets being released!

Speedy's Challenge #29, Snowflakes!

Hello, it's time for another Challenge from Speedy's the Cat's Friends, and this week we are challenging you to include snowflakes! That's pretty easy as we enter the snowy months, it could be snowflake dp, embossing, brads, charms, punches etc. whatever you want!

Please make sure to upload your creation to the Mark's Finest Papers Blog. There is a FREE stamp set drawn for every 50 entries. You can use any stamps, but if you use MFP stamps your name is entered twice. You can enter as often as you like. This weeks challenge is open until Friday November 19th.

So I had a funny idea (well I thought it was funny) we have 2 cats, Oliver and Milo and a Dog Franky. Franky is a Border Collie and tends to herd the cats and push them around! But the animals always give the kids a gift at Christmas, and this year the cats are going to give Franky a gift! lol
I really couldn't resist when I saw this Speedy the Cat Stamp in the new set 'Christmas Postage Due', that's what came to mind! I think Franky will be really touched! lol
The box was made with the sizzix Box #2 die. Then I wrapped that beautiful satin ribbon, also from MFP around it, and that reminded me of Santa's belt, so I added the image where the buckle would go. The bag is filled with some yummy dog bones. I made the tage using a sentiment from the same set. I used Spellbinders Tag Shape #3, snowflake embossing folder and an EK snowflake punch.
The little card is 3x3". Super simple, red card base, then white embossed with snowflakes. I stamped the image in black, coloured the hat red, matted it with red and popped it up!
Have a Great Weekend!

G.I. Riley...Moosing You!

Hello, I made this for a couple of this weeks SCS challenges! First the sketch Challenge SC306, and the ways to use it challenge WT296 we remember!

G.I. Riley seemed like the perfect stamp for the We Remember challenge! I stamped him with memento tuxedo black onto white and coloured him with copics. I cut out the image with petite oval nesties and matted with riding hood red.

The card base is riding hood red, with a layer of crumb cake and dp I bought by the sheet quite a while back at Michael's it's made by creative imaginations. Here's my gripe for the day...the sale sticker was obviously put on by a non-paper crafter, because they put them right in the middle of all the papers and they left a really sticky residue!!!!

The center panel is crumb cake embossed with the star embossing folder. I finished it off with some taffeta ribbon, and the sentiment which is from the 'Things Riley Might Say' set.

Please be on the look out for Sneak Peeks of Riley starting on Monday November 15, with a Blog Hop & release on Thursday November 18! You're going to love these stamps!

Have a Great Day!

I finished it off with some ribbon and a music note charm also from MFP!

Paper Pieced Nutcrackers!

Hello, it's Day 2 of the Mark's Finest Blog Hop, and I get to show you something I made with the new set 'Christmas Postage Due'. I originally made this for the Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #28, paper piercing...because I thought it was paper piecing!!! So now I finally get to share it!

So before I tell you about the card, make sure to check out the Blog Hop List for today on the Mark's Finest Papers Blog, for your chance to win Blog Candy.

Now onto the card. I stamped the Nutcracker 3 times onto white, coloured in his face with copics, then I cut the Nutcracker out of the stamp! I stamped him onto 3 different colours in the Basic Grey Oliver pkg. Then I paper pieced his coat & hat, added gold pen to the stripes and backed them with white textured cardstock from MFP, and then red. The top was made with the fancy tag die.

The card base is riding hood red, with textured white (MFP) and dp from Basic Grey's Olivier. The Nutcrackers are popped up and I finished them off with buttons and linen thread!

Have a Great Day!

CC296, Christmas Nutcracker!

Hello, I made this card for today's colour challenge, CC296 poppy, tempting, white! Now I must admit, and maybe you felt the same, but when poppy parade was first released, I really didn't care too much for it! But paired with the right colours, it is beautiful!

So for todays card, I used a new set from Mark's Finest Papers which is available for purchase today, it's called 'Christmas Postage Due'! This is just one of many stamps in the set.

I stamped the nutcracker onto white and coloured with copics, I found copics R27, R17, & R05 were good matches for the poppy parade! I added stickles to the berries and backed it with black. This panel is popped up.

The card base is poppy parade, with a layer of white and poppy parade dp on the bottom. I also found a scrap of white that was already punched with a heart edge so I added it! The top part of the white was embossed with the Crafts-too snowflake EF.

I finished it off with some satin ribbon from Mark's Finest Papers, a little scrap of fibre and a mini Christmas ornament!

Today is Day 1 of the Mark's Finest Papers BLOG HOP, hop along and leave a comment for your chance to win some great Blog Candy!!

Have a Great Day!

CAS92, Greetings Of The Season!

Hello, I decided to play in the CAS92 challenge today, CAS cards don't come naturally to me, but this weeks is a colour challenge pink, krafty, olives and I love these colours together! and I have to say, I am really pleased with this card!

I used a set from Mark's Finest Papers, called Greetings of the Season! I stamped the image and sentiment in memento's rich cocoa, onto watercolour paper. It was super easy to colour, I used a paint brush and picked up the colours from the lid of the pads. I used always artichoke & old olive for the branches, soft suede and crumb cake for the pinecones, and marina mist for the background! I stamped the pinecone twice and after colouring, I cut one pinecone out, curved the sides a bit to give it a rounded look, and then attached it with a dimensional.

I finished it off with a pink taffeta bow, and some glitter on the pinecones!

Just So You know, the Mark's Finest Blog Hop Starts tomorrow, Tuesday November 9th, make sure to check it out and leave comments for your chance to win!

I stamped Stella onto white, and coloured with copics. Her sleigh was paper pieced with irridescent white dp.

All the other dp is from a s.e.i. winter song pad. The tag was embossed with the SU northern flurry EF, then I sponged on white craft in to the raised parts and added stickles in some spots.

I finished it off with white taffeta ribbon and fibre.

Speedy's Challenge #28, Paper PieRcing!

Hi Everyone, it's Saturday, and that means time for another challenge From Speedy's The Cat's Friends! This weeks challenge #28, is to use piercing on your card. Please take note that's piercing, not paper piecing, lol...I guess I was speed reading and made a paper pieced card first...so you'll just have to wait to see that one!

I used piercing around the Santa stamp image and down the little faux strap holding the Ho, Ho, Ho!

The main image and both sentiments are from a new Mark's Finest Papers stamp set, Christmas Postage Due. It will be released next week. I lucked out when I found this dp with stamps on it, so I thought it would be great for this set!

I stamped the image onto vanilla and coloured lightly with copics. I also outlined Santa's glasses with a gold atyou spica.

I got the sketch from MTSC98, The card base is cherry cobbler then always artichoke embossed with 2 different folders. The first was the Christmas Countdown, but because I made my card 5.5 x 5.5, it didn't completely fit and because it's a big folder it doesn't fit sideways in the Big Shot! So I used the snowflake EF on the edge.

The aged paper panel was made using a Tim Holtz notebook EF, and I sponged on some TH antique linen & vintage photo!

Please come and join in the challenge, just add some piercing to your project, and upload it to the Mark's Finest Papers Blog. There is a FREE stamp set drawn for every 50 entries. You can use any stamps, but if you use MFP, your name will be entered twice! You can enter as often as you like, this challenge will close on Friday afternoon, November 12th!

Have a Great Weekend!

RILEY2110, It's A Fun Sketch!

Hello, it's time for another Riley and Company Challenge! This week's challenge is Hosted by Cindy, and she has a fun sketch for us to try! This sketch would work with any Riley stamp, so it was hard to choose which to use, but our Nephew is getting married next Saturday so I made them a wedding card!

I used Wedding Riley and Sophie. Both the invitation to the shower & the wedding were hand made and used brown and blue, so I went with those colours for this card!

I stamped Wedding Riley with memento rich cocoa onto white and coloured with copics. Then I cut them out and added some glitter to Riley's flower and some on Sophie's dress. The image is popped up.

The card base is early espresso, with a layer of soft sky, and very vanilla. The vanilla was embossed with the textile EF and the edges are sponged with Tim Holtz antique linen.

The small squares were stamped with French Script onto vanilla with early espresso and the edges are sponged with the antique linen.

The bottom piece is the soft sky and I used a MS edge punch with little hearts. I finished it off with vanilla taffeta ribbon and aan antique brad!

Please join us in our challenge, and get those Riley stamps all inky! You can go to the Riley and Company Blog and leave a comment with a link to your card and if you upload to a forum, please use the keywords RILEY2110.

TMONDAY, Add A Red Bow!

Hello, so how much Halloween candy did you eat? I know I had too much! lol
So it's time for the Totally Stampalicious Monday Challenge, this weeks challenge is to include a red bow somewhere on your card or project!

I used the new Christmas JJ, isn't she cute in her reindeer outfit! I stamped JJ onto vanilla cardstock. My favorite cardstock for copics is Neehan and it's now available in vanilla at CDStamps...love it, it blends beautifully just like the white! So I coloured JJ with copics and added some crystal effects to her shoes, bubbles, glasses etc.

The dp is from Basic Greys Jovial pad, with chocolate chip cardstock. I finished it off with the red ribbon and bow and a hat pin with some beads!

Please join us in our challenge, include a red bow on your card or project and upload it to the Totally Stampalicious Blog there's usually a prize!

Have a Great Day!
