Reindeer Fun!

My Girlfriend & I went to the big Creative Festival in Toronto a couple weeks ago. When I spotted this Reindeer stamp I had to get it, I love the expression on his face. The stamp is from Rosewood Canada and it's called Reindeer Toboggan.

I stamped the image in black & coloured with copics. Then added dazzling diamonds glitter.

I also stamped the card base with a great backgroun stamp I found that day from Local King Rubber. They had tons of fabulous background stamps!

The icicle edge was made with the Martha Stewart edge punch. The snowflake is also a Martha punch. I found the button in my button box from my sewing days.

Have a great day!

Orange Giesha Girl! HSC93

Hello, I made this for the Friday challenge on the Hanna Stamps forum. Jeanne is the host of this weeks challenge, but unfortunately she was called away on a Family emergency. Cathy aka emptynextstamper has stepped in to post the challenge for her, you can find it here HSC93, we are being challenged to use orange!

Well this Beautiful Giesha girl took on a life of her own! I only knew I was using orange, and from there I was drawing a blank! But somehow it came together & I really like the way it turned out!

The card base is black, white a layer of pumpkin pie. I used a fan in the Giesha Hanna set, stamped in versamark to make the background on the pumpkin layer. The edges are also sponged.

The next panel is just old olive, edges sponged layered onto black.

I used the new Fancy Tags nestie to make the fancy piece across the middle. I cut 2, one from black & one from Taken with Teal. The blue one has sponged edges, and I off set it a bit so the black shows through.

The Beautiful Giesha Hanna was stamped with memento tuxedo black, onto white & coloured with copics. Then I used the Nesties Label #6 die to cut her out. This panel is popped up, and I added black rhinestones & the tiny butterfly to finish it off.
The huge sale continues at Hanna Stamps, I think it ends this weekend, so you might want to shop now for the best deals!

So what do you think?

HSC92, Is The Moon A Halloween Shape?

Hello, I made this for the Friday challenge on the Hanna Stamps forum HSC92. The hostess this week is Kerry. She has challenged us to make a Halloween shaped card!

Okay have you seen the amazing cards the DT has made so far? They're amazing you have to check them out HSC92 Gallery.

I kinda went the easy route on this one, but it was what popped into my head, so I went with it. I know it's just a circle, but I did try to make it look like the moon! lol I used glossy cardstock, and cut a circle with the 2nd largest coluzzle circle. Then I sponged on yoyo yellow in the middle and various shades of green going from lightest to darkest towards the edge. Then I ran it through the CB with the spots & dots embossing folder.

The Witch on Broom Riley was stamped on white, and coloured with copics.

Stamps: Witch on Broom Riley

Paper: glossy white, white, black, orchid opulence

Ink: noir black palette, yoyo yellow, green galore, certainly celery, old olive, always artichoke, orchid opulence

Accessories: circle coluzzle, spots & dots EF, sponges, circle punch, Martha Stewart punch, dimensionals, circle nestie

So what shape will you make?

Laurie

Two Challenges, Detective Hanna & Sweet Sixteen!

Have you ever started a card, not been thrilled with it? That happens to me...too often! When I decided to pack it in for the night (last night) I really wasn't happy with this card! But today when I got back to it, it all seemed to come together! Sometimes that's all it takes, a little break & we see things in a new light!

I combined 2 challenges here, the Friday Challenge on the Hanna Stamps Forum, HSC91, Hosted by Sandra. She challenged us to pick an obscure Holiday in October & make something. I think mine fits for 'Awareness' month, and maybe even 'Sarcastic' month. lol

I also used the new challenge on the Crazy for Challenges blog, C4C8. Vicki challenged us to use a minimum of 3 geometric shapes. I used a rectangle, circle & oval.
I made this for my Daughter Rachel to give to her Friend for her 16th Birthday.
I used the new Detective Hanna. She's coloured with copics and her outfit is paper pieced.
The #'s are chipboard, covered in glitter. I used the nesties to cut out the circles. There's a brooch pin attached to this and I attached it to the card with velcro. So it can be pulled off, and worn as a badge!

Stamps: Detective Hanna, Sentiment -Totally Stampalicious
Paper: rose roed, white, Basic Grey DP lemonade
Ink: memento tuxedo black
Accessories: Happy Birthday EF, circle/scallop nesites, oval punch, copics, crystal effects, Martha Stewart glitter, chipboard #'s, brooch pin, velcro, dimensionals
Have a Great Day

I used the Totally Stampalicious set 'Hawt Dawg'. I stamped the dog in memento tuxedo black, and coloured with copics. The image panel is popped up.
I made the 50 with Justrite stamps.
The not quite navy & dp pieces have sponged edges. The black pieces have distressed edges.

Ink: memento tuxedo black, black, not quite navy

TSMONDAY4, Spooky Lighting!

Hello, this weeks challenge over at Totally Stampalicious, is to stamp on something other than paper! You can find the challenge and all the details on the Totally Stampalicious Blog here, so you can play along!

Okay I'm not 100% sure mine counts because I stamped on vellum, does it count as paper?

I used black cardstock 8 1/4" X 3". Score at 2",4", 6" and 8"

The top was made with the Martha Stewart fence edge punch, but would probably look great with the spooky fence punch, or the web or whatever you have on hand.

I made the windows with the lg square punch from Stampin Up.

I stamped the spider & web from the 'Witch Brawd' set in black onto vellum pieces measuring 1- 7/8" square.

I used the little battery operated tealights for safety. Sorry the pictures aren't too great, I was having trouble getting the light right!

Thanks for stopping by, and you should give these a try, they are super easy!

Hanna Stamps Fan Blog Hop!

Running a bit late, but here it is! I have been dying to use Mason Riley on a gift jar filled with candy lego! Don't you think he's perfect for that!

I bought the glass jar at the Dollarama. I also found the wire mesh in the craft section at the Dollarama. I'm not sure if it was a great idea though, because the edges are sharp & I now have a few cuts on my hands! Maybe I should wrap it around the chocolate I shouldn't eat! LOL

OK so I used my stamp-a-jig and stamped the brick wall on 2 strips of white. Then I coloured them in with copics. By then my eyes were blurry and my hand was cramped!

I also stamped Mason Riley and coloured him with copics. I used nesties to cut the image, mesh & cardstock.
For the lid, I used the bricks & graffiti set. Then cut them out with nesites.

Stamps: Mason Riley, Brick wall, Graffiti
Paper: white, black, metal mesh
Ink: black
Accessories: copics, nesties,

Now I'm going to hop! Here's a list of all the participants.

She's A Rebel!

Hello, I loved the easel card so much I had to make another one. This time I used the new Goth Riley from Hanna Stamps. Isn't she/he cute!

I coloured the image with copics and added glitter with the star dust pen to the earrings and a bracelet.

The cardstock is sponged and the dp is from the Teen Angst pack from Memory Keepers.

The arrow was made with the sizzix curves ahead die. I used the 'Graffiti' set also from Hanna Stamps for the sentiment on the bottom. And keeping with the theme, I used safety pins as a stopper!

So what do you think?

Laurie

Flying Monkeys!

Hello, I made this for the colour challenge this week, CC240, chocolate chip, bermuda bay & apricot appeal. I also used this weeks sketch challenge SC250 .
And of course I really wanted to ink up my new stamp from Totally Stampalicious. This is just one image & one sentiment from the set, Witch Brawd, there are several others!

I stamped the images in memento tuxedo black, & coloured with copics. The sentiment was stamped in chocolate chip. All 3 panels are popped up. I finished it off with some chocolate pearls.

Thanks for stopping by!

Laurie

Super Mom!

Hello, I made this for this weeks TLC242 easel card challenge, what a great idea for a card! I love this idea!

I used the new Super Hero Hanna, and what better combo than super hero + Mom!

I coloured the image with copics, and you can't tell from the photo, but I added a bit of glitter from the stardust pen onto the highlighted bits of her outfit. I cut Hanna out, and only popped up her hair. You can see a close up of that in pic #2.

Rather than use a button as a stopper, I popped up the whole panel on the bottom to create an edge.

I'll be back with a couple more later!
Have a Great Day

Have a Swine Time!

Hello, I made this for the Monday Challenge on the Totally Stampalicious Blog This weeks challenge is to make a card in a shape other than the usual square or rectangle!
So I used the new Farmer Hawg to make an octagon card!
I stamped the image twice with memento tuxedo black, and coloured with copics. I also stamped the image onto paper to make a mask so I could sponge in the clouds. Then I cut out the Farmer from one coloured image. His right side is glued down directly to the cardstock, his left side (with the sign) is popped up.
Thanks for another great challenge!
You should join in the fun, the prize this week is a $10. gift certificate.

Get Well Treat From Nurse Sophie!

Hello, I made this for the Friday challenge HSC90, on the Hanna Stamps forum. This weeks challenge is Hosted by Cindy Haffner, make a treat holder!

I hope it doesn't matter that I didn't use the Halloween theme!

This is the new Nurse Riley/Sophie from Hanna Stamps. She looks so happy, she'd cheer anyone up!

So here is a 2,5,7,10 box, you can find the tutorial here. I coloured the Nurse with copics and added a tiny heart gem to her name plate.

Now originally the front edge was beautiful, I had used a MS edge punch with a tiny scallop edge & tiny hearts. But when I used the hole punch for the ribbon, I didn't notice it was wrecking my beautiful edge leaves indents! So I decided to repunch it, but I was doing it the lazy way, with the box already full of mints & the end result looked like I did it while drinking & the hearts didn't line up! darn it! so since I was running out of flap! I made it straight & rounded the corners!

I made the window in the box with an oval coluzzle, then backed it with acetate. The glittery heart was made with the Martha Stewart punch. I also punched a heart from a dbl sided sticky sheet, put it on the cs heart & dipped it into red glitter. The Nurse & the heart are popped up.

So that's my story!
Have a Happy Thanksgiving

So this is a softer girly look to the same stamp I used during the blog hop!

Stamp: Ribbon Riley

Paper: pretty in pink, white & pretty in pink dp

Ink: noir black palette, pretty in pink

Accessories: nestie label #4, Martha Stewart edge punch, brads, stickles, prisma colour pencils, oms, ribbon, dimensionals, sponge dauber

Have a Great Day!

So you should have arrived here from Cindy's blog. If you didn't you might want to go back and check out her fabulous creations! If you didn't start at the beginning, then you need to go back to Kristi's Blog.

Ok so tonight I'm showing you how darn useful the Ribbon Riley is. I googled ribbon colours & their meaning, and found this great site Craft's n' scraps

These cards are pretty simple, I wanted the ribbon & colour to be the focus.

All the Ribbon Riley's were stamped onto white & coloured with copics. I matted each with the matching ribbon colour.

The card base is white and I scored 1/2" in of each side. The image panel is popped up, and the sentiment from 'Everyday Sentiments' was stamped in black. Thanks for hopping by, leave a comment for a chance to win a free Riley stamp. Leave a comment at each stop, for more chances to win, as we're all giving away a Riley stamp! When you get to the end of the hop, you can leave a comment for a chance to win a $50. gift certificate to Hanna Stamps...how awesome is that!

Please leave a comment by Monday Oct. 5th at 7pm est to be entered.

The winners will be announced at the Release Party tomorrow, Monday October 5th 9pm to 11pm est. on the Hanna Stamps Forum at SCS. Next stop, Cathy's Blog!

World Card Making Day!

Hello, this is a card I made for WCMD09L. It was a sketch challenge, and I decided to use Safari Riley.
The card base is brocade blue, with a layer of apricot appeal, and then a layer of dp from my momenta-born to be wild.

I stamped the image on white with noir black palette. Coloured with copics & used circle/scallop nesties to cut the layers.

The sentiment is from Stampology-Always & forever seals. It was stamped on white & the opposite side of the animal dp which is red. I used circle punches and hand cut the red piece. This is popped up.

Happy WCMD!

Name Badge for Stampin Palooza!

Happy Saturday everyone! I had a wonderful day today, my Friends Sandee & Sue treated me to the first annual Stampin Palooza event in Toronto! It was a full day in a room filled with many talented stampers.

There was a name badge contest and both Sue & Sandee encouraged me to make one! Okay so needless to say I was up way too late trying to come up with the perfect badge, funny, unique, etc. So I had 2 ideas, flowers, or sock monkey hmmmm..... well I started with the flower from 'Pretty Amazing' stamped it 3 times on so saffron & embossed with clear emobossing powder. You know when you play around waiting for that aha moment, which often comes when not expected? well I didn't get it with the flower, and time was running out, so I moved on to the monkey!

First I stamped a piece of kraft & a piece of natural (cream?) with the canvas bg stamp & creamy caramel. Then I stamp Ms. Monkey on both with close to cocoa. I also stamped the monkey on a plain piece of Kraft so I could make it a bit thicker. I then cut out the lighter pieces and glued them in place! Then I cut along the inside on the arm near the bottom. My husband then cut a piece of a flat kabob stir stick thingy for me and I attached a small piece of rubber scrap, and voila Ms Monkey has her own stamp! I attached the stamp under the arm with a glue dot.
The sentiments were computer generated. Then of course you need gems, because what's a party without sparkle, and this stampaholic loves sparkle! I added a brooch pin on the back with crystal effects.
My badge didn't win, and even though it took awhile to get the aha momento while making, in the end...I'm really happy with it!
Have a great evening
