TSMonday, Teapot, Sketch!

Hello, sorry I've been absent for a few days! I took some time off to do some much needed house cleaning, which didn't really get done because I've kinda been feeling a bit under the weather! So this is a catch up card, combining 3 challenges! This weeks Totally Stampalicious Monday challenge is to make a card for your BFF! I used Stampalicious Scarlette because I'm going to send this to a fellow stamper. This weeks Teapot Tuesday Challenge MMTPT139, is to bring ribbon! The destination Station is a fellow Stamper Ashley, who lost all her stamping supplies in a flood...can you imagine! What a nightmare! I used the colours in the Teapot photo for inspiration! And lastly, this weeks sketch challenge SC326! I coloured Scarlette with copics, and made the dots on her dress with my new white Sharpie-fine tip poster paint, finally a white pen that works! The card base is pretty in pink, with a layer of white embossed with the sizzix floral vine and the edge is punched with a MS punch. The next panel is embossed with the swiss dots. I popped the main image up and finished it off with some satin ribbon and 2 glimmer brads! Have a Great Day! Laurie

Speedy's Challenge #47, 3-3-1 round!

Hi, you can find the Riley and Company Blog Hop Here!

I made this card for the Speedy's The Cat's Friends Challenge #47! We were to use 3 pastels, 3 embellishments, 1 image on a round card!

I used the bunny from 'In the Forest' set. He was stamped onto white with Tim Holtz vintage photo.

The card base is bashful blue, with a layer of so saffron and then the main image. I curved the sentiment from the same set and stamped in on the top.

The flowers were made with a marvy punch and the leaves from the 2-step bird punch. I finished it off with some rhinestones in the center of the flowers!

Have a Great Day!

Riley March Blog Hop!

Hello, and welcome to the Riley and Company Blog Hop! Leave a comment on each blog along the hop for your chance to win some rubber! All stamps are available now at Riley and Company!
This is the new Tooth Fairy Riley! Isn't he/she adorable! I know the kids in my life are always anxious to loose a tooth so they can leave it for the tooth fairy, so I made a little box with the matchbox die!
Riley is coloured with copics, and I added some glitter & gold! The tooth is covered in crystal effects. I went to my local Scrapbooking store today to get a tooth brad, but they were all gone so instead I used a tooth punch. The tooth is 2 layers glued together, covered in crystal effects & popped up!

Below is the new Policemoose Riley! Who doesn't love a moose in uniform! lol My first thought was to colour him the colours of our local police, but instead I went with the colours of the dp. I bought this a long time ago, but I knew it would come in handy one day!

And lastly, the New Parents Riley & Sophie! Ahhh they are so cute! I don't use purple tones very often, so I decided to give that a try! I think this card design is called a tent topper card! Super easy. The base is 8.5 x 4.25" scored in half so you have a 4.25" square. Then add the topper making sure it doesn't go over the 5.5" mark, then it fits in a regular envelope!

Okay you should have arrived here from Cathy's, and now you will be hopping onto Silke's! Don't forget to leave some love along the way for your chance to win some awesome rubber!
Here's the complete hopping list!
Laurie-that's me!
Happy Hoppin' and good luck!

Riley Sneak Peek Day #4, Shhhh.....

Hello, here's another peek to tide you over and entice you to come to the Riley and Company Release and Blog Hop tonight at 10pm est!

This is the new Moose in the Moon Riley! I decided to try something different, so I made a door hanger for a babies room! What a cute way to let everyone know baby is sleeping!

Riley was coloured with copics. Cut out and matted with a lacey circle.

For the background I tried a new technique to make it look like a quilt. It's really easy, first I cut a piece of white (cheap) cardstock slightly bigger than the mega curved rectangle nestie I wanted to use. I used 2 different DP's and cut 1" square pieces. Then I used a glue stick to stick them down. Then I ran it through the big shot with the mega rectangle die to cut it out!

The barely banana mat behind was made by taking the same mega rectangle die, I taped it to the cardstock in 2 places so it wouldn't move, and used my craft knife to cut around the outside!

The main image is popped up. The stars are sponged and I went around the edge with a gold copic atyou spica, and popped them up too!

The ribbon is sandwiched between the quilted part & the back so it looks neat on the back!

I look forward to seeing you tonigh at the Blog Hop, it starts at 10pm est. If you comment on the Design Team members blogs, you have a chance to win a Riley! All the New stamps will be available tonight as well!

Have a Great Day!

The card base is cherry cobbler. All the dp is from K&Co.'s lovely! I added a strip of vanilla on the bottom embossed with hearts. I used the MS edge punch on the cherry cobbler piece.

The words are also new this month. I cut then apart and sponged the edges the same as the main image.

The card base is black, with a layer of vanilla that I spritz with gold shimmer. The dp is from DCWV rock queen. The main image and the sentiment are popped up!

MMTPT138, Get Well Kim!

Hello, this is my card for this weeks Teapot Tuesday Challenge MMTPT138!

This weeks Destination Station is very dear to me, we are sending our cards to Kim. He's my Cousin, and he was recently diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer which has spread to his bones! Kim is only 41, we both lost our Fathers to cancer in the last 10 years as well as our Aunt, and our other Aunt is currently fighting breast cancer. Kim is the first of our generation to be diagnosed with this horrible disease. I requested Kim as a Destination Station so we can bring him so good wishes, cheer, anything to lift his spirits!

Kim is a fan of the Boston Bruins, so I used the team colours to make my card! The image is Hockey Riley, dressed in Bostons colours. I used copics to colour him in.

The back ground panel was made with the word 'fight' from a Totally Stampalicious set called Breast Cancer Stella set and a star from a GinaK set Just so Sporty.

I hope he likes it!

Have a Great Day!

I love the pompoms with this, and I fiished it off with some twine and a word embellishment from the $ store that I've had forever!

TSMONDAY, Piercing!

Hello, thanks to everyone who commented on my cards during the Totally Stampalicious Blog Hop! I enjoy reading your comments and appreciate every one! Congratulations to the winners!

This is my card for this weeks Totally Stampalicious Monday Challenge! This weeks challenge is to use some paper pieRcing!

I used the new Best Buds Brats, and coloured them with copics.

The card base is brocade blue with a layer of barely banana. It's not easy to see, but I stamped the banana piece with matching ink & the linen BG stamp, then sponged the edges.

The center piece is dp from 2bugsinarug called Lazy Summer.

The frogs were made with an EK punch. They are wild wasabi, edges sponged and googly eyes added! That's where my piercing comes in, I wanted to do something other than faux stitching! So I used a circle shaped plastic canvas as a guide to make the hopping pierced marks!

I finished it off with some buttons and some bakers twine!

Please join us in our challenge, and upload your creation to the Totally Stampalicious Blog! You never know you could win something & all the Guest Designers are chosen from challenge participants!

I'm also entering this is the Catch The Bug Challenge, Baby Steps, make a card or project for a child /baby!

Happy Birthday & Congratulations!

Hello, I have a couple cards here that I made for my Girlfriend! The first is a card for her Nephew, it's his 30th Birthday, and he is currently in training to be a demolitions expert!
I used Timber Riley and altered him a bit. I masked off the blade of the chain saw, and drew in some jeans and a t-shirt. He's coloured with copics. I'm hoping the piece of the chainsaw that's left will pass as a hand held detonater! I made a tiny hole with a pin, put 2 wires through the hole and taped then onto the back. Then I wrapped the wired around a toothpick to get the coiled effect.

I then ran these wires to the back of the hanging circle with the '30' on it...they're stickers from the Teen Angst pad.
The card base is black, with a layer of mose mustard and then dp from the Teen Angst pad. It reminded me of an explosion!
This card is also for my Girlfriend to give to her Neice, who is currently in training to be a Flight Attendant! I took several pictures, but they kept making her looked washed out, so this is the best of them!

I struggled with this one at first, but I'm happy with the final outcome! I went with the Easel Card design.
This is a Hanna image, she's actually a Nurse, but I hope she can pass as a Flight Attendant checking her passenger list! I coloured her with copics. She cut out & matted with petite oval nesties.

The card base is night of navy, with a layer of dp from Basic Grey's Wander. The sentiment is from Hanna's Everday Sentiments. The oval & the sentiment are popped up!

I also added a plane made with an EK punch. I layered a navy plane onto a vanilla plane, it's slightly off set.
For the bottom inside part, there's a white piece for writing on, dp also from the Basic Grey wander pad, and a skyline made with a MS edge punch.

I added a plane to this piece too!

Last day of March Break...boohoo!
Have a Great Day!

MMTPT137, Haeli Loves the Arts!

Hello, this is my card for this weeks Teapot Tuesday challenge MMTPT137! The challenge this week is to frame it!

The Destination Station this week is to a little girl in 6th grade named Haeli, who is undergoing chemotherapy for ovarian cancer. Haeli loves art, so I used Painter Riley for this card!

I stamped Riley 2 times on white & coloured with copics. The easel is from a Hanna set, I just masked off the legs to shorten it to Riley's size.

I drew in the wood floor with a fine tip marker and coloured it in with copics. I stamped the easel with a heart stamp from MS in pink pirouette. I also wrote Haeli's name with a copic, and added crystal effects to the paint tray & brush.

The frame was made with the Spellbinders classic frame die, it's attached to the polka dot dp and that whole piece is popped up, as well as Riley's head.

I finished it off with ribbon that I sprayed with the gold shimmer spritz!

Have a Great Day!

TSMONDAY, Cheers!

Hello, this is my card for this weeks Totally Stampalicious Challenge!

With St.Patrick's Day just around the corner, we thought we would say an Irish 'CHEERS!' to St.Patty himself by creating a card or project featuring our FAVORITE LIBATION (alcoholic beverage)!
So whether that's beer, wine, martini's or even coffee & baileys let's see your
cheers!!!

Make sure to upload your creation to Mr. Linky on the Totally Stampalicious Blog! Guest Designers will be choosen from those who participate in the challenges!

So for my card today, I used Chef Pierre! Whether you prefer white, rose or red it doesn't matter, he has them all!

I stamped the Chef 3 times, coloured him with copics. I decided to make it look like tags by using a corner punch and matted them with bravo burgundy.

The words were computer generated and I used the little jewelry tag punch from SU. Then I lightly sponged the edges with blushing bride and tied them to the ribbon with blushing bride.

The card base is bravo burgundy with a layer of kiwi kiss and then dp from Basic Greys Indian Summer.

The tags are popped up.

Please join us for the new Totally Stampalicious Release & Blog Hop, Thursday March 17, 9pm est! There's always great fun, inspiration & prizes!

Bugaboo & FS214 Challenges!

Hello, I combined two challenges for this card! First the Bugaboo challenge on the Catch the Bug Blog, use scallops and I also used this weeks Bugaboo Freebie 'Coffee Time'! This weeks featured stamper FS214 is bfinlay, I chose this card to case!

I coloured the image with copics. The card base is garden green, with a layer of dp from Cosmo Crickets garden variety! I used Tim Holtz antique linen to sponge on the white pieces so they looked like the dp!

I used an oval scallop nestie, and an EK scalloped edge punch.

This is going to be a St. Patrick's Day card, so I added some shamrocks made with a fiskars punch.

Have a Great Day!

Speedy's Challenge #46, CAS Cat!

Hello, I made this for this weeks Speedy The Cat's Friends Challenge on the Mark's Finest Paper Blog. This weeks challenge was to use lime, green & grey and have up to one layer!

I used the More of Speedy The Cat's Friends set. I love this siamese cat! I stamped the cat with basic grey, and coloured his eyes green with copics.

The grass was punched from old olive with the MS edge punch.

The sentiment is from the same set, also in basic grey.

I finished it off with some old olive ribbon and a couple pearls!

Totally Stampalicious/Bugaboo Storage!

Hi, I'm so excited about the way my new Totally Stampalicious/Bugaboo stamp storage turned out I had to share! This was originally the large poptart box that has 3 boxes of 8 poptarts inside.

I cut each box down to size and covered with my favorite velvet embossed paper by Anna Griffin, I bought it at Michael's. I cut four flaps for each box from purely pomegranate with the labels 5 die. They're just folded in half over the edges and I sponged them with some purely pomegranate ink.

The outside box was cut down to 1.75" and covered with pureply pomegrante cardstock & a strip of the dp.

The dividers were cut from the cardboard that comes in the Stampin Up dp pkgs. I printed all the names out on the computer and used the 7/8" circle punch and the 1" punch to back them. Then I attached these to the label punch.

I finished them off with some satin bows! Who would guess these started out as poptart boxes!

Did you notice the one on the end labeled 'New'...those are the new Totally Stampalicious stamps that will be released next week, Thursday March 17, and as usually there will be a Blog Hop with lots of great prizes!

Have a Great Day!

MMTPT136, A Night at The Roxbury!

Hello, I made this for today's Teapot Tuesday Challenge MMTPT136. This week the Teapotters are heading to the Roxbury and busting a move!

This weeks Destination Station is Roxie (akaRoxie71)! Roxie will be bringing us sketch #323 tommorrrow, and we are sending her Thank You cards! I love using Roxie's weekly sketches for inspiration, and appreciate the time she takes to make each one, so this card is for her!

I used a sketch from a while ago, SC305 and I also used this Writing Riley because he's getting sketchy!

I stamped Riley twice, coloured with copics and cut out the head from one & popped it up. I used a fine tip marker to sketch out the sketch, and sponged some soft sky in the background & Tim Holtz antique linen along the edge.

The card base is black, with dp from October Afternoon's Thrift Shop. The glittery music paper reminded me of the Roxbury movie clip, it's from DCWV songbird.

The sentiment is from MFP Ladybugs & Carnation, and it's popped up.

You can find this weeks Riley and Company Challenge here.

The card base is night of navy, with a layer of white & then dp from Basic Greys Oliver.

I also used last weeks sketch challenge for this card SC322.

Speedy's Challenge #45, Bleaching!

Hello I made this for this weeks Speedy The Cat's Friends Challenge #45. This weeks challenge is to use bleach!

First I tried stamping and image with bleach, but I wasn't too happy with the outcome! Instead, I scrunched up a small portion or paper towel, dipped it in bleach and then used that to sponge it onto my cardstock! I love the way it turned out, the cardstock is from MFP and it's like a cross between kraft & creamy caramel, the bleach made it look weathered!

The cardbase is black with a layer of dp from Basic Grey's Oliver, edges distressed.
I stamped the bleached cardstock with the anise stamp from the Daffodils & Anise set. The sentiment is from the Greet the Day With Gerber set. The edges are also distressed on these pieces. The sentiment is popped up and I finished it off with some twine.

Have a Great Day!

TSMONDAY, Try a New Technique!

Happy Monday, it's time for another Totally Stampalicious Challenge, and this weeks challenge is to try a new technique of your choice! Try something that's new to you, or a technique you haven't done in a long time!

On Saturday it poured rain here all day, and it looked like it was finally going to get rid of the snow that's been lingering, but Sunday we woke up to snow...lots of snow...well 4-6", which is 4'-6" too much! lol So that made me think of sunny yellow, cause we are all craving some sunny spring weather!

I made the background paper using MariLynn's W.I.S.H Technique I found at SCS TLC299.
Cut open a sandwich bag
scribble on some colours with markers...I used SU barely banana & daffodil delight
spritz lightly with water
fold the bag back in half to combine colours
open bag and press paper into ink
*I added a step by spritzing on some vanilla smooch spritz & pressing my paper into that
You can't see it in the photo, but it looks pretty!

I used the new Bling Thing Scarlette. She's a Bugaboo image now available in stamp form at Totally Stampalicious! I coloured Scarlette with copics, and added some gems.

Please join in the fun and upload you creation to the Totally Stampalicious Blog for your chance to win a great prize! The Guest Designers are chosen from the challenge participants!

I am also entering this in the Bugaboo Catch the Bug Challenge, Anything Goes!

My Brother is a Dr. Who Fan!

Hello, I wanted to share the Dalek card I made for my Brother's Birthday! My Brother Sean was a big Dr. Who fan when he was younger, and when I saw Valita had made a Dalek card for her son, I was so excited because I knew this was going to be perfect for Sean's Birthday!

If you have a Dr. Who fan in your life, Valita's pattern is perfect, easy to follow and she has the pattern for sale on her blog here!

It's a big card, I had to put it in a big packing envelope, but he really liked it!

Hello, I made this for this weeks Teapot Tuesday Challenge MMTPT135 ,HE SLURPED UP A NOODLE GAVE ONE TO HIS POODLE! AND SAID, "OH, WHAT A GOOD BOY AM I!"

This weeks Destination Station is a young man named Bobby, who is recovering from an accident, please follow the link for more info.

Since Bobby loves sports and has coached kids all his life, I thought the sporty Riley's would be perfect.

I coloured all the Riley's with copics and added a bit of glitter with a star dust pen to the helmet & the golf club.

The words are from Gina K's Just So Sporty. All the stars were made with the MS punch.

The card base is night of navy with a layer of real red. The soccer Riley and the words are popped up.

TSMONDAY, 1 Ribbon, 2 Papers, 3 embellishments!

Hello, well I'm a day late and and to top it all off, as I was typing the title I realized I didn't
really follow the directions!!! This is for this weeks Totally Stampalicious Monday challenge, it's a 1-2-3 challenge, 1 ribbon 2 designer papers & 3 embellishments...that's where I slipped up! But I do have a buckle, handmade ticket, and I used crystal effects on his glasses, hope that works!
This is the new Beer Guzzlin Gus, he's a Bugaboo image just released last week at Totally Stampalicious in stamp form!
I also used this weeks MOJO180 for the sketch, and the Technique lovers challenge TLC314, to make and use handmade tickets!
I coloured Gus and his chair with copics. Then I remembered a stamp I bought a long time ago from Prima called newsboy collage. I stamped it onto copy paper then stamped the newspaper over it 2 times. I cut these out and layered them with a bit of dimension to look like a newspaper! You can see it better in the photo below!
The card base is black, with a layer of kiwi kiss and then dp from Memory Keepers Teen Angst. The circle was made with a 2" circle punch from scrap dp. The tree line was punched from kiwi kiss with an EK edge punch and the black strip is embossed with the spots & dots EF.
I made the ticket with the ticket corner punch, sponged the edges and then finished it all off with some black grosgrain and a small buckle!
Please join us in our weekly challenge. Just upload your creation to the Totally Stampalicious Blog. There is usually a prize, and Guest Designers will be chosen from those who play in the Challenges!
