Baby Sweet Baby!

Just wanted to share the 2 cards I made using 'Hand in Hand' designed by Melanie Muenchinger. I love this set, there's so many possiblilities with the images & sentiments.

I made these for 2 of the challenges on the GinaK forum at SCS. The first was to make something sweet. Well baby girls are sweet, so I made this for my Daughter's Teacher who just had her first baby, a girl. I just love that saying too, 'love at first touch' how true is that?

This one was a sketch challenge. As it turns out I needed another baby card, so I used the same image. I decided to really personalize it, and used the Justrite roman font to make her name. Then I embossed with clear EP.

This was my first time using the hands & copics. I wish there was somewhere nearby where I could learn how to use these properly, I feel kinda intimidated by them!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day.

Olivia loves to knit!

I made this card for the HSC52, we were to make a card with more than one fold. But more importantly, I made this for our Daughter Oliva (9). At Christmas, Olivia asked for a knitting kit, so she could learn to knit. I swear she spent the majority of the holidays knitting, she caught on real quick! So this image of Sophie, from Hanna Stamps, was the perfect image for her birthday card this year.

I made a gate fold card. Sophie was stamped on white 2 times, and once on the dp for her chair. One white image was cut with the circle nestie, then I added the chair, cut out Sophie and added her to the chair! The ends of the needles and the ball of yarn are popped up (I cut a really tiny dot in half for the needles). I coloured the yarn to match the yarn Olivia is using.

It's finished off with glittery dp & gems, for just the right amount of glitz for a young girl!

Here's a pic of Olivia lounging and knitting over the Christmas holidays.

A couple new things!

It's Olivia's 9th birthday on the 24th. We are having a baking themed party, so I made apron invites. I thought it would go well, since the first thing they will be doing is decorating aprons. We aren't having the party til Feb.1, so I'll try & get some pic's to post!

I made this card a week or so ago for my step daughter's boyfriend. He's in University, not easy thinking of an appropriate card for a guy at his age! But I know he likes Smallville, & what guy doesn't like a super hero! So of course super moose Riley came to mind! Then I used the sketch challenge SC211 and added stars & dada a perfect guy card!

Thanks for stopping by!

Out of Order!

Just incase you're popping in and wondering 'where the heck is she!' I have been layed up due to a lower back problem also known as excrutiating pain! don't know if that's spelled right! I will hopefully be back at it soon...cause it's driving me crazy not being able to stamp! Thanks for popping in.

Ride Spohie Ride!!

Hello, I made this card for Mondays Technique lovers challenge TLC202, on SCS. I loved using the bella rose dp yesterday, so I decided to use it again.

When my Hanna Stamps order arrived a couple months ago, I was totally surprised to find this motocycle Riley! Thanks again Kristi. This stamp is being released tomorrow, you should come join the fun over at the Hanna stamps forum.

It's so simple to change most of the Riley stamps to girls. So today it's Sophie riding the motorcycle, she's a Wild Thing!!!!!

The card base is kiwi kiss, with a layer of bella rose dp.

The image was stamped onto white & coloured with prismacolor pencils & oms. I cut her, and the glitter panel with the nesties label #1 die. I hand cut the green & red layer so the border wasn't too big. I finally used one of the filigree brads that I've been hoarding, I love them so I can't use them!!! I know crazy!

Hope you have a great day/evening, don't forget about the party tomorrow, everyone is welcome!

Framed Bella Rose

Hello, I want to share with you a project I made today, for a challenge Melanie Muenchinger is having on her blog, Hand, Head & Heart.
We were to make something featuring a sentiment. I chose one of the verses from her set ‘Say It With Flowers’ I love this verse, to me it says look at the bright side, I try to live my life by that! Even named my blog with that thought! Lol
The frame is a shadow box type frame I bought at our local Dollarama. The paper is SU bella rose. The layers were cut with the new label #1 dies, and I sponged the edges. The rose is cut from the paper, but the leaves are from Melanie’s “A year with flowers’. I stamped the leaf 3 times, colored with prismacolor pencils & oms, then cut out.
I used dimensionals to pop up the rose & the main panels. Then I finished it with a ribbon & some tiny gems.
The picture makes it look a little dark, sorry about that!
Have a Great Evening

Sophie is so Sexy!

Hi Everyone! I made this card for the Friday challenge on the Hanna Stamps forum at SCS. I was a sketch challenge with a twist! meaning follow the sketch & make a funny card!

I used couch Riley, but turned him into Sophie! either that or he's a cross dresser! lol Anyway He/She is wearing a new bra & pantie set from Victoria Secret, made glittery with stickles.

I drew in the wood floor. The bg panels, couch & wall are dp all from the same pad, Daisyd's maybe baby valentine.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

It's a New Year!

Well I have been absent for too long! But it's a New Year, I chance for new beginnings! So who's got resolutions for the New Year? I know I do, and one is to be more organized in the blog postings. Actually I have several, which I will list, in the hopes of embarassing myself if I can't do what I set out to do...not change the world, just some of my terrible habits that have multiplied at 2008 came to a close!

Blog on a regular basis
complete more daily challenges on SCS
spend less time on the computer & more time crafting
exercise regularly
eat a proper diabetic diet
clean the house regularly (LOL)

My overall goal for 2009, is to end it weighing less, have a neat clean orderly house. Have an active blog. Get published, and or be asked to be a guest designer! I know I might be asking too much...a girl can dream!

OK enough about me, feel free to leave me a comment including your resolution, and maybe we can keep each other on track!

So to start the New Year off, here is my first card for 2009! I made it for the Hanna Pin Up challenge on the Hanna Stamps forum. There's still time to enter, the winner will be picked Thurs. Jan. 8th during the January release party!

Thanks for stopping by
