Charlie's Snow Day!

Hello, I made this as an entry for May's Guest Designer challenge at Clear Dollar stamps! The challenge was to include something that dangled on your card or project.

While Charlie Snowhorse is a little off season, this and the snowflake charm, were the first things that popped into my head when reading the challenge!

I stamped Charlie onto white, and lightly coloured his face & scrarf with copics. The circles and scalloped circles were cut with nesties. Then Charlie was covered with glue and made glittery with SU dazzling diamonds. The snow in the background was made with a stamp from the same set.

The card base is chocolate chip, then a layer of white, and dp by ATD called snow days. The strip in the center is blue bayou embossed with the snowflake EF and matted onto white. The sentiment is also from this set, and punched with a small oval punch.

I finished it off with small scalloped photo corners, brown velvet ribbon, and a nice shiney snowflake also from cdstamps, you can find it here.
Have a Great Day!

Birthday Pot Of Flowers!

Hello, I made this for my SIL's 50th birthday. I also used this weeks challenge colours CC215, basic grey, rose red & pink pirouette. The flower pot directions can be found under Mondays Try a New Technique, TLC215, flower pot card. Although I used going grey for the flower pot, I did sponge basic grey ink onto the pot.

I cut an extra piece for the front & embossed it with the textile EF. The edge is punched with a fiskars edge punch. The flowers were made with 2 sizes of marvy punches, and the smallest flower is made with a fiskars punch. The centers are silver brads. The leaves a made with the sizzix little leaves die (one of my fav's) in kiwi kiss.

The ribbon is kiwi kiss, and I added a butterfly charm.

I hope she likes it.

You Are My Sunshine!

Hello, this is an 8x8 scrapbook page I made using a photo of my Daughter when she was 5. I love the bright toothless smile! I used Erika's scrapbook challenge at stamptv, STVSCR8.

I'm not completely happy with this one, the area around the dp looks too busy to me, but I fiddled with it too long so settled for this.

I used textured cardstock for the bg. with pixie pink & DCWV dp blossoms & butterflies. The photo is matted on pixie pink. I used the CB Hippy Chick die to make the letter 'O" with DCWV summer glitter stack. The butterflies are also punched from this paper with the Martha Stewart butterfly punch.

Have a Great Day!

C.I. Will Miss You!

Well on Saturday my Daughter Rachel (15) hosted a going away party for a school friend. Her Dad has been transfered to the US, they move today.

I made a card for all the friends to sign. Their school is known as C.I. and their school colours are red, yellow & black.

I used riding hood red for the card base, then a layer of yoyo yellow, and the top layer is a piece of coredinations embossed with the bloom dots EF. The edges are distressed & the top was sanded a bit.

The sweatshirt is from a GinaK set called 'Just so sporty', designed by Melanie Muenchinger. I made the letters with the cuttlebug Olivia die set, with some alterations to the letter 'I'. Then I outlined the letters with a black marker. The sweatshirt is popped up.

I also used the SU set 'Make it count' for the sentiment. I used the 1/2" circle punch for the round bits & popped them up too.

Everyone had a great time! Here's a picture of the whole group! Yes you're seeing that right, one lucky guy amoung the whole group of girls!

I have to share this one too, when I was taking the photo, our dog Franky went and lined up with the girls! He's either a cheerleader wanna be, or he justs wants to fit in! LOL

Wish Big Birthday Card & A Cool Discovery!

Hello, I made this for the Friday challenge HSC64 on the Hanna Stamps forum, make a birthday card. I also used this weeks sketch challenge SC224 She looks a little naughty, and while trying to decide what sentiment to use, I laughed when I came across this one, so I had to use it!
The stamp is from "Dress up Hanna' she's stamped in black & coloured with copics. I also added pink stickles to fancy up her undies! This panel is popped up.

The card base is black, with a layer of white, and a layer of pixie pink embossed with the script EF. I sponged the edges with the same colour. The sentiment is from SU 'Short & Sweet' punched with the small oval. I also used the oval/scallop nesties.

I made a really cool discovery while making the black strips! You may have figured this out already, but I'll share just incase someone hasn't!

To make this cool strip, you need the Martha Stewart doily lace edge punch, and a strip of cardstock 1 3/8" wide and whatever length you need.

Line up the cardstock against the edge, this makes it easier to match the scallops on each side. Punch out the whole length.

Then flip the strip over and line up against the same edge. Punch the whole length. You've probably noticed this strip is shorter! I forgot to take a picture of this step!!! so I went back and redid it but I used a shorter strip (sorry for the confusion)...we'll just have to pretend it's longer!
Now your piece should look like this! I was totally impressed. It's so great to find new uses for your punches!

Hope you have a great day!

Buddy the New Puppy!

Hello, I made this for the STVSCR7 challenge on StampTV hosted by Erika Martin (SunshineMama). It's also for my sister. Their family just got a new puppy, and this is a picture of my Niece's, Meghan & Lauren, with their new puppy Buddy. He's only 12 wks in this photo, yep I think he's going to be a big one! He's so darn cute!

I tried to make the dp look like a collar. I also have to add the date to the bottom corner, I didn't have it handy at the time.

I hope they like it.

Happy Birthday Aerobics Instructor!

Hello, I made this for the 2nd release party challenge HSAC2 on the Hanna Stamps forum. We were to make a birthday card for a worker or particular occupation.

I decided to make a card for my aerobics instructor Brenda. She has been instructing for years, I try to attend 3 xs a week, but of course that doesn't always happen! I'm not sure when her birthday is, but now I have a card ready!

The card base is black with a layer of pretty in pink & dp from basic greys pocelain. I stamped Riley onto white and coloured with prismacolour pencils. His clothes are paper pieced, I also used some SU markers & a copic. I coloured the dumbbells in with a silver gelly roll pen. The ovals were cut with nesties, and this panel is popped up.

The photo corners are an EK punch. The ribbon is black satin and pink straight & narrow. The sentiment is also a Hanna stamp, and I used a word window & small oval punch for it.

I hope she likes it!

The card base is black with a layer of green galore embossed with spot & dots (reminded me of moon craters) The bottom edge was made with a MS star edge punch, and I attached a piece of yoyo yellow behind.

I used circle punches, and a new EK moon & stars punch for the circle, it's popped up. It's finished off with pretty in pink grosgrain ribbon.

Easter Bunny Bars for the Adults!

Hello, well both my Daughter's are selling chocolate bars to raise money for their schools. We didn't sell the whole box of caramilk bars, so of course I had to buy the whole thing!

I thought they would make good treats for Easter. So I made 5 of these, one for my Husband, Brother & SIL, Sister & BIL.

Quick & easy!

The dp is from Deja view - plum stripes. The bunnies are made with 1 3/8" circle for the bottom, 1 1/8" circle for the head, small oval for the ears, and a flower popped up on a dimensionals for the tail.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter Treats!

Hello, and Happy Easter!

I made little treat baskets for my 3 girls, and for my 3 nieces & my Nephew.

Of course I couldn't keep it simple and make everyone the same! There's just too many good ideas on SCS, so I had to try as many as I could! yep I'm crazy!

All the baskets were made with the top note die. I trimmed the top layers at the stitching line. Most edges are sponged.

The top bg was embossed with the swiss dot EF.

All the chicks are from the Martha Stewart edge punch.

The eggs are made with the largest & small SU oval punches.

I used various punches for each basket, you can find more individual accessories listed in my SCS gallery on each photo.

Or if you have any questions please feel free to ask in the comment section or pm me at SCS. I'd be happy to help.

Have a Great Day

Flowers for Easter

Hello, I made this for the Flower pot card challenge TLC215 & the colour challenge CC213 using so saffron, close to cocoa and bashful blue.
The flowers in the outside pic look a bit turquiose, but they are bashful blue! What a great challenge, a pot of flowers can be used for so many occasions. In this case, they will be for someone special at Easter.
The pot is close to cocoa. I used a scallop diamond edge punch (EK) for the rim and all the edges were sponged.

The flowers were all made using 2 sizes of the marvy flowers punches, and the SU 3 flower punch. The leaves were made with the sizzix leaf die. All the flowers have copper brads in the centers.

The sentiment from 'All Year Cheer 1' was stamped in so saffron.

I finished it with SU ribbon, and a little rabbit made with a Martha Stewart punch.

Happy Easter Weekend

Hanna is so Elegant!

Hello, I made this for the Friday challenge HSC63 on the Hanna Stamps forum. Last Friday's challenge was hosted by Adela, and we were to use red, white & black.

I decided to use my new 'Dress Up Hanna' for the first time! The picture isn't so great, I did colour her skin with copics but it's kinda washed out in the photo. She also has diamond earrings...only the best for Hanna!

The card base is black, with a layer of white, and then real red embossed with the textile EF. The little piece in the corner is from a cuttlebug die.

Hanna was stamped on white and so was her dress. I coloured her with copics & prismacolour pencils. After colouring the dress red, I went over it with a red sparkly gelly roll pen. The sash & shoes and her lips are covered with crystal effects. This panel is popped up.

I finished it off with some black satin ribbon, and a corsage pin with some matching beads.

What do you think?

What a Big Saw You Have!

Hello, I made this for the Friday challenge HSC62 on the Hanna Stamps forum hosted by Ilina ok it was last Fridays challenge, but there's still time to play!

I love these colours together, I used not quite navy for the card base, a layer of very vanilla, the bottom is kiwi kiss, and the top is soft sky. The tree line was made with the EK alpine trail edge punch. all the edges of the grass & sky were sponged. I also used a stamp from SU itty bitty bg set on the grass area.

Timber Riley was stamped on white with black & coloured with prismacolour pencils & oms. His outfit is paper pieced with dp scraps. I used a fine black marker to draw in a collar, buttons for his shirt & pockets, belt loops & fly for his pants.

My favorite part on this card is his saw! The blade is actually a piece of the metal strip from a parchment paper box! The body of the saw was stamped on grey, cut out & glued on. Then I stamped another of his hands, cut is out & popped it up, so it kinda looks like he's wearing gloves! The image is mounted on circles cut with the nestie pinking die! It reminds me of a circular saw blade! This panel is popped up.

I finished it off with blue bayou ribbon & a little silver buckle.

Cool & Fabulous Meghan!

Hello, I made this for Erika's scrapbbok challenge STVSCR6 over on stamptv.

This is a picture of my Niece Meghan, the photo is a bit washed out due to the light, I had trouble getting a good pic with no reflection!

Anyway, when Meghans sister Lauren turned 7, my Sister planned a dress-up party. The kids dressed up, we took photos, printed them & then they painted & decorated frames to put their photos in. This is Meghan just being a cool older sister! (Note: you couldn't see the lines on the background sheet in the pics of the younger kids! lol)

The flowers on the bottom are from 'Flowers for Daisy' and the smiley face & sunglasses are from 'Little Tee's'. The edges of the flowers are sponged.

The glasses were stamped on black with versamark, and then embossed with black EP to give them a shiny look. I also popped the glasses up with tiny pop dots. The sentiment stamp is from SU Fabulous Flowers, it fit so perfectly!
Have a great weekend

Lavendar Dreams

Hello, I made this for the potluck challenge on stamptv hosted by Melanie Muenchinger. We were to use something other than a stamp to stamp on our creation! I used the fine net sleeve that garlic comes in to dab on colour in the background.

The card base is lavendar lace, with a layer of very vanilla. The corners have been punched with an EK corner notch punch. I masked off the edges at the top & dabbed on lavendar lace ink with the garlic net. The bottom is a torn piece of lavendar lace also dabbed with colour & the edges are sponged.

The image was stamped onto very vanilla with chocolate chip ink & I coloured in the buds with the lavendar lace marker. I then dotted the buds with a quickie glue pen & dipped them in dazzling diamonds glitter. The edges of this panel were distressed.

The sentiment was stamped in close to cocoa, because I thought the choc. chip might be to dark, and then I punched it out with the lg SU oval. The sentiment is popped up.

I finished it off with purple gems & a bow of vanilla taffetta ribbon.

Happy Friday

Lots & Lots of Bunnies!

Hello, I made these bunnies, all 40 of them for the 2nd annual Easter Egg Hunt, put on by my SIL Wendy.

They are so cute & easy to make. The bunny head, tail & body stamps are from cdstamps.com, in a set called Bunny Nuggets. The images were stamped with basic grey onto white. I added pink to the ears & cheeks with a prismacolour pencil.

Last year when I made these for the kids in my family, I cut out the tails. This year I punched out the tails with the SU 1/2" circle punch! much easier & quicker, but still looks good...well I think so anyway! lol I used 4 of the soft subtle colours, and stamped them onto address labels. The labels are wrapped around Hershey's nuggets. I had trouble finding these in my area, the bulk store only carries they at Christmas! My local Shoppers Drug Mart has them, but they're expensive, so I just wait for them to go on sale, which they often do.
note: you can click on most of the pictures on here to get a closer look. I have no idea why it doesn't work for all of them! something I have yet to figure out!
Have a great day!

Thankful Charlie in purple!

Hello, I made this for the guest designer challenge for cdstamps.com. We were to make a card of project using purple in some way.

I decided to use 'Charlie Daisy' He was stamped 2 times on white. I used copics to colour Charlie & the bg. I cut out Charlie's body & popped it up. The flower petals & butterflies have some sparkle added with the stardust pen. I also added stickles to the center of the flowers.

The flowers were made with a marvy punch, and the centers are made from a regular hole punch, I used the brown from the dp, I still might add crystal effects to the centers. The little butterflies were made with the Martha Stewart punch, and then covered with stardust pen.

I didn't come across this challenge til yesterday, and didn't have time to stamp til later in the evening. I was too late to enter the contest, darnit, I'll have to try again another time!

Thanks for stopping by, leave a comment and let me know what you think.
