Hanna Friday Challenge & DTGD - Here's the Scoop
This weeks challenge was hosted by Silli, and we were to make a circular card. I used the new Ice Cream Riley, and picked colours to resemble neopolitan ice cream! The card itself was made with circle/scallop nesties.
When I first saw Ice Cream Riley, I thought about these candy cones. But do you think I could find them anywhere!! So I have been on the search, not doing so well, and while we were at Giant Tiger the other day, Olivia spotted them!
I made this holder for them, so they fit in there nicely! The background paper was made with the itty bitty backgrounds, stamped in pretty in pink & close to cocoa onto very vanilla. Then I slipped it into a food safe bag, and tied with ribbon. They actually look way better than they really are! lol but kids like them!
This also fit in with some of the DTGT09 challenges, The card:
DTGD09craftycaro, non-traditional challenge
DTGD09Beca-Stamps, cut it out.
The Ice Cream Treat:
DTGD09LodiChick, it's in the bag
DTGD09bedwright, DP on me
DTGD09Lauraly, tie one on
DTGD09TruCarMa, good enough to eat
Let me know what you think.

July New set Challenge - Top Secret Password Diary
The winner, drawn randomly, wins 2 Free Sets! There's still time to play!
So this is my entry, I made this for Olivia. My computer desk is always filled with scattered pieces of paper the girls leave behind. With Rachel it's usually song titles she's looking to download, or movie times. With Olivia it's passwords & usernames or codes for games!
Olivia loves Webkinz, Poptropica, Nick Jr. & most recently 39 clues (we're on book 2).
She also learned a hard lesson about 2 years ago, and had everything stolen from her Webkinz account! Yep she gave someone her password, thinking they were a friend, and was shocked to discover someone she trusted would do such a thing! This will be a safe place for her to keep all her passwords & important info.
This is an altered diary, you can get them in the $1.50 (cdn) section of Michael's. I covered it with dp. Cyber Hanna was stamped onto white & coloured with copics. I paper pieced her chair with some herringbone dp.
The black piece was made with the new Spellbinders fleur de lis pendant. The image & the regal rose piece were cut with the square nesties.
The Skull & crossbones are a Martha Stewart punch, they are layered on punched squares.
I finished it off with gemstones.
For the inside, I used a piece of going grey. I made lines with a stamp from SU "Live Your Dream'. The corners are decorated with hearts & skull from Martha Stewart punches.
I also used our 'This book belongs to" stamp, this is one of Olivia's favorite stamps.
Hope you like it! Don't forget to play in the New Set Challenge, you could be the winner!
Stamps: Cyber Hanna, Live your Dream
Paper: dp Robins nest black herringbone, rusty pickle pirate princess, regal rose, black, white, going grey
Ink: noir black, going grey, regal rose
Access: Martha Stewart skull & crossbones, Nestie squares, Martha Stewart Hearts, Spellbinders fleur de lis pendant, square punches, sponges, copics, regal rose ribbon, stardust pen, gems

You can find a tutorial for the peek-a-boo box here in the resources section of SCS. I found this pattern posted by mjtrudel. It makes a box 2.5" x 4.25" x 1"

The Sweet Treats of Summer!
The first time I saw the little Ice Cream Riley this came to mind. I think it would make a cute birthday gift for any child or adult with a sweet tooth, or how about someone home recovering from surgery! I know Olivia has had her eye on it since I made it, and she keeps asking who it will be for, hoping of course that I will say it's for her!
So where to start, hmmmmm, well I bought the spice jars at the $ store. They're just regular ordinary size spice jars.
I used the computer to print out the labels. I used toffee bits, mini chocolate candies, oreo crumbs & sprinkles. I also printed off the sentiment on the front. I punched the circles on the lids with 1-1/4" & 1-1/8" circle punches & a nesties scallop circle. Please ignore the score line in the photo above, that was a mistake!
To make the body of the container, I made to separate boxes, one for each side. This made it easier to figure out, and you only need 8-1/2" X 11" cardstock.
Each box is as follows: start with a piece of cardstock 7" X 6-1/4"
score the 7" side 1-3/4" in from each side
score the 6-1/4" side 2-1/4" in from each side
cut along the solid line just to the score line
This makes 1 box that holds 2 spice jars
(sometimes you can click on the photo to enlarge it, it doesn't always work, & I don't know why!)
Fold up the sides, and use really strong adhesive. I would suggest the red tape or scor tape. Once you have 2 boxes made, attach them together, back to back.
Now you need to cut the centre panel which is 10-1/2" x 3-1/2" score in half at 5-1/4". This is the handle, and the piece that holds it all together. I used the large oval punch for the handle. Again use strong adhesive, on the inside of the folder handle, making sure the 2 sides don't meet until they are in place. You want to arrange it so that the joined boxes are sandwiched between each side of the center/handle panel. To make it a little more secure, I also put 2 brads thru the middle. Gee that sounds complicated...it's really not!
Next you need two spacers, cut 2 pieces 2" x 3-3/4". Score each end at 1". These will go inbetween the spice jars, inside the box. You can see in the photo above.
The dp I used was in the DCWV summer stack. I had to cut 2 strips to cover the whole container. Cut a strip 2" x 12" & 2" x 3-1/2". I put the smaller piece across the back, it's the same width as the back.
Riley was stamped onto white coloured with copics, and cut out with a circle nestie. The pick behind that was punched with a 2-1/2" circle punch and then layered on a scallop circle cut with a nestie. The sentiment was punched with a 3/4" circle punch & layered on a circle cut with the nestie. And there you have it! I hope you try to make one, I'd love to see it if you do.
So to recap, you will need:
2 pieces cardstock 7" x 6-1/4" (boxes) score along 7" side 1-3/4" on each end, score along the 6-1/4" side 2-1/4" on each end.
1 piece cardstock 10-1/2" x 3-1/2" (center handle) score on long side at 5-1/4"
2 pieces cardstock 2" x 3-3/4" center spacers score along 3-1/2" side 1" on each end.
1 piece dp 2 x 12" and another piece 2 x 3-1/2"
Ice Cream Riley stamp http://www.hannastamps.com/
strong adhesive
large oval punch
circle/scallop nesties
circle punches 3/4", 2-1/2", 1'1/4", 1-1/8"
2 brads
copics, ribbon or whatever you want to decorate with.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by, and remember if you try one, please leave a comment with a link so I can admire it!

What can you do with the Mermaid Hanna set?
The next card uses the same 'Mermaid Hanna' set. This of course is much softer & more elegant, I think!. The base is blush blossom with the edges sponged softly. The next layer is white run thru the cuttlebug with the textile folder. The fancy corners were made with an EK punch.
I love this little dresser made with the new matchbox sizzix die. My friend Sandee made one last week, so I had to give it a try. Now when Olivia first saw this her eyes got all starry & I knew she was thinking about how much her Polly's would love it! lol So I do believe that this will become a Polly dresser!
For the top, I used the Mermaid Hanna set again. I did the same thing with the oyster as above. Keri, the other guest designer for Hanna Stamps this month, came up with this great idea to make coral. I already had the punch, & it's always great to find another use for your punches! So Thanks to Keri for this clever idea!
I finished it off with dew drops & flat back pearls.
Retro perfect package...kinda looks like a package!

Release Day - Peak 4 Meghan's 13!!!!!!
I first stamped the image onto white with memento black. Then I made a mask, and stamped the rug. I decided to take it a step further, and added flooring, baseboard & a wall. You really just need a fine tip permanent marker & a ruler for this.
Hanna’s pants, and the chair were paper pieced. The rest was coloured with copics, except the wood floor, that’s prismacolour pencils. The wall was sponged with certainly celery.
What a great set, and it came with lots of other stamps….keep watching for more sneak peaks! and don't forget to come & join the party!!!!
Be Back later with more, I saved some of my favorites for last!
