Sympathy for a Friend

We just learned that a Friend's Father passed away, so I made this card for his family today.

I used a set called 'Our Family Tree' from Mark's Finest Papers. It was a very quick card, but the scene makes it look so detailed!

I stamped the main image onto very vanilla with versamark and embossed with black embossing powder. Then I punched a scallop circle to use as a mask, and sponged in some bashful blue. I used the petite oval nesties to cut out the image and scalloped mat. The ovals are popped up.

All the edges of the bashful blue panel were sponged. I stamped the sentiment from Warmest Regards on the bottom in black.

It's finished off with sheer black ribbon, and a butterfly charm tied on with silver cording.

Have a Great Day!

I'm Ready for Spring! Who's with me?

It's another blustery day here, and I'm ready foir spring! Darn that groundhog!!!
I made this using this weeks sketch challenge SC269. I used my new set from Mark's Finest Papers, 'Spring and Easter'.
The card base is regal rose, with a layer of SU dp and white embossed with the swiss dot EF. Ther other panel is white embossed with the Bloom Dots EF.
I stamped my chick with memento black, and coloured with copics. Then I cut him out and attached to the main panel, which is popped up. I stamped the sentiment in regal rose and punched out with an oval punch, and popped it up too. The butterfly is a MS punch, I used barely banana and then covered it with copics atyou spica in lemon.

RILEY0310, Cowboy Riley Is A Star!

Hello, it's time for another fun challenge with the Riley and Company Design Team. This weeks Hostess is the ever talented Cindy Haffner! Cindy is challenging us to use red, brown and caramel. I hope you can play along, it's just for fun, upload your creation to SCS using the keyword RILEY0310, so we can all see what you've come up with!

I decided to use Cowboy Riley, I love him, he's coloured with copics and I added silver atyou spica to his arrow and belt buckle.

My original plan was to use the paisley EF because that reminds me of a bandana, but then I saw the stars and that won out! The red star panel is riding hood red, then I rubbed the matching ink pad over it to dirty it up!

The creamy caramel panel was roughed up to look like leather. First I crumpled it, and distressed the edges then I flatted it and rubbed a more mustard ink pad across it & then the creamy caramel ink pad, super easy! I also used the piercer around the top edge.

Cowboy Riley was cut with circle nesties and popped up on the inverted circle nesties.

I finished it off with some ribbon and a star charm.

Check out the other members of the Riley and Company Design Team, and see what they came up with this week, you can find all the links on the right sidebar! and don't forget we'd love to see what you come up with.

Have a Great Day!

C4C25 & TSMONDAY17 Vegas Style!

It`s Monday and that means a Totally Stampalicious Challenge, TSMONDAY17! This weeks challenge is to use glitter and or bling Vegas Style! Becky one of our wonderful leaders is on a trip with her Hubby to Vegas, and the prize is truely a surprise! Becky will be bringing something back from Vegas for the lucky winner of this weeks challenge!

I also used this weeks C4C25, Totally Stampalicious is the Sponsor over at Crazy for Challenges this week, so one lucky winner will win a prize from Totally Stampalicious!

I`ve never been to Vegas, but when I think of Vegas I think lights & glitter and for some reason gold and black were stuck in me head!

This is the old brawd stamp set, and she is celebrating in style! She`s wearing her favorite gold vest and bangle bracelets! I was worried a whole gold glitter flower might be too much, so I only did the edges in gold. The cupcake has liquid pearl icing, and she`s wearing her lovely black pearl necklace!

I made the glitter panel by taking a piece of white cardstock, and covered it alternating 2 sizes of scor tape. I removed the larger tape and covered it with black glitter, then repeated with the gold...yes I`m very glittery now!

The sentiment is from the Farmer Hawg sentiment set, and I embossed it with black embossing powder. The main image and the sentiment are popped up.

I also would like to mention that we have a new member on our Totally Stampalicious Design Team. If you get a chance please pop over and welcome Monique Hansen!

I hope you can play in the challenges, we`d love to see what you come up with!

144 Bottle Caps In The Can!

So are you thinking 'What the.???' Don't worry, I didn't drink all those! lol My Niece Lauren was given a craft kit at Christmas to make all kinds of neat things with bottle caps.

She's starting to run low, and my sister had asked the family to save our bottle caps if we had any. Well I figured that would take forever, and then someone in my house either me or my Husband suggested buying some from the brew it yourself store! It's a brilliant idea, so I'm going to take credit for it! lol We bought 150, I used 6 to make her name, so there is 144 in this revamped hot chocolate can!

The can is covered in dp. I don't usually use the premade flowers, but I found this pkg. of flowers from K&co. and the colours and sparkle reminded me of Lauren. The leaves were made with the sizzix little leaves die and old olive cardstock.

The bottle caps have a piece of dp in the bottom, made with the 1" circle punch. I found these circles with the medal edge, and a pop dot on the back. I stamped each with an initial in regal rose and stuck it in the cap. Then I filled the cap with crystal effects. The bottle caps are attached to the can with a glue gun.

I used some nice cotton type ribbon to cover the lid edge. I attached it with 1/4" scor tape. The largest circle on the top was made by tracing around the lid and cutting out by hand. The rest of the circles were made with nestabilities.

Well that's my story! I'll be back later with something from Totally Stampalicious!

Have a Great Day!

Karate Lauren's 9th Birthday!

Hello, this is the card I made for my Niece Lauren, for her 9th Birthday. Lauren takes karate lessons, so I used Karate Hanna to make her card.

I also made this for the featured Stamper challenge this week FS159. This weeks stamper is Judy Rose aka JovialJudy! Judy has a wonderful Gallery, and this card was my inspiration.

I was first attracted to this card because of the circles, and I had them all punched out. But because this was for my Niece Lauren, hearts seemed more fitting!

So I changed the main image, the background is stamped, I used hearts instead of circles, added ribbon and although I used gems, I changed the placement.

All the stamps used are from Hanna Stamps. The store is currently selling off all stock, so prices are really low!

Stamps: Karate Hanna, Graffiti, Everyday Sentiments
Paper: pretty in pink, regal rose, white, dp?-Costco
Ink: memento tuxedo black, pretty in pink, soft sky
Accessories: copics, nestie hearts, taffeta ribbon, gems, dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!

Sleuth Lover's Birthday!

My Husband loves detective shows and stories, whether it be Sherlock Holmes, Poirot, Agatha Christie, the list goes on and on! So I knew I wanted to use Detective Riley on his Birthday card this year!

With the help of the sketch challenge SC268, it really pulled this card together!

So we have Dective Riley, eye + spy and birthday Riley! Dective Riley is hot on the trail and he's so right, there is a Birthday at my house today!

I coloured the images with copics. The Birthday Riley has stickles for icing. The eye was stamped and coloured, and then I stamped the eyeglass on white cardstock and acetate. I cut the centre out of the cardstock eyeglass and glued it on top of the acetate. The eyeglass is popped up with very thin strips of dimensionals.

I hope he likes it, now I have to go ice the cake & finish making dinner!

Stamps: Detective Riley, Birthday Riley, Detective Hanna

Speedy the Cat Has His Own Stamps!

When I was first introduced to SCS, Faith aka markie's mom was quite the inspiration for me, and her wonderful creations certainly influenced many of my purchases! No wonder she's been on so many Design Teams!
I even used to play a game where I would look at all the new uploads and guess which one was Faith's...I know, easy game!
I love checking out her blog everyday too! From polka dots, Markie's jokes and Speedy the Cat antics, you never know what you'll find story wise, but you will always find a new stunning creation!
So when Faith and her family opened up their own Stamp Store, Mark's Finest Papers, and then a new stamp line, I just had to order some!
I was inspired by the this weeks Technique Spotlight, Scherenschnitte Stamping (Scissor Cuts). I used the new set Speedy The Cats Friends.
The card base is black, with a layer of pretty in pink and a layer of DP from Making Memories Sabrina. The whole pink panel is popped up.
The image was stamped with versamark onto black and embossed white clear powder. Then I cut the image out. The glossy side is down, you can find the tutorial here.
The image is mounted on the petite ovals, and I used the classic frame die and cut it down to fit.
I finished it off with half back pearls and pink satin ribbon.
Have a Great Day!

TSMONDAY16, Digi Announcement!

I'm baaaack! If you're a digi lover, or if you just want to try it out, check out the Totally Stampalicious Blog!

The TSMONDAY16 challenge is to make something using a Digi, and they are offering a couple free! The randomly picked winner will get a whole Digi set FREE!

Plus Totally Stampalicious is now offering Digi's in full sets, and individual images! There's something for everyone.

While I prefer rubber, I used 2 digi's today. I followed Becky's fabulous tutorial here, which really helped abd was easy to follow!

My first Digi is Hawt Dawg. This image is about an inch smaller than the actually stamp. I coloured him with copics and cut him out.

The tag ws made with night of navy and old olive embossed with the stars EF. I used the large & small star punches and circle punches for the sentiment.

Sorry the pictures are a little yellow, I think my lighting was off! I made this for this weeks featured stamper challenge FS158, Laurie aka HamiltonGal. Laurie has a fabulous gallery, and this card caught my eye.

I changed the colours, theme, stamp and I didn't use any embellishments.

This fire hydrant is also a digi image from Totally Stampalicious. I coloured it with copics, cut it out & popped it up.

The card base is bermuda bay, with a layer of very vanilla. I embossed the vanilla with a texture plate from fiskars, it has paw prints, but it isn't embossed deep enough! I also sponged Tim Holtz distress antique linen around the edges.

Have a Great Day, and I hope you play in the Totally Stampalicious challenge!

More Valentines and C4C24

Hello, I have a few more Valentines t share with you, and a little treat box. They also fit this weeks C4C24, to use red as the main colour.

The first is the treat box I made for my sister. I used the SU box #2 die, so this was pretty easy! The box is real red, the large heart on the front was made with the new heart embosslits die. I cut one from white & then one from red & I trimmed the edges of the red one with my scissors.

The tag was made with the small tag punch, the white one was hand trimmed to fit inside. Then a MS heart punch, and a circle punch for the sentiment. The sentiment is from a MS stamp set I bought last year.

I'm not crazy, I know the candies are more for Christmas, but my sister loves these and the colours fit.
How about 2 heart flowers! The card base is real red, and a layer of white with a cloudy sky sponged in soft sky.

The hearts were made the same as the ones a posted the other day. The leaves and grass are garden green on these ones.

Next is 2 more I made exactly the same as the ones posted the other day, but I used pinks and reds for these ones. I've been to the bulk barn, so now you can see them full!

Hope you had a Happy Valentines Day!

Fun Valentines!

Hello, I made these fun Valentines for my Niece and Nephew! When Stampin Up first came out with this idea I thought it was the coolest thing, now I finally had a chance to use them! I still have to stop by the bulk barn for some candy to fill them, so just imagine them full of something sweet!

They are both pretty much the same, except I used bermuda bay for Jack's and melon mambo for Carly's. The designer paper is from the little 6x6 pad welcome neighbour. I love this pad, and may have to get another. It's full of papers with small print design which is perfect for paper piecing outfits and smaller scale things!

I used the Sweetheart set. The hearts were stamped in versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. Then I used the large heart punch in the middle and hand cut around the edge. You have to make sure you cut it wide enough to cover the lip of the candy cup.

The stem was stamped with old olive. I made the grass with old olive and the MS grass edge punch (love that punch). The little birds were stamped with so saffron for Carly and more mustard for Jack, and then cut out. I sponged the edge of the grass and popped it up.

I used a circle nestie to make the holes. Then I put a piece of matching cardstock on the inside, taped down on the sides and bottom. You just pull the tab up to reveal the opening for the candy!
Stamps: Sweetheart, $stamp on inside
Paper: bermuda bay, melon mambo, white, old olive, Welcome neighbour DP
Ink: old olive, versamark, so saffron, more mustard
Accessories: white embossing powder, Martha Stewart grass edge punch, circle nestie & 1" circle punch, tab punch, dimensionals, large heart punch
Have a Great Day!

Ahhhh Coffee! Tuesday Riley DT Challenge

Hello Everyone, today is the second Riley and Company challenge. This weeks challenge is hosted by Patti, and she is challenging us to make a monochromatic card! Everyone is welcome to play along, you can leave a comment on the Riley and Company blog with a link to your card, or upload to SCS and put RILEY0210 in the keyword so we can see your creations! Also whenever you upload a card made with Riley and Company stamps to SCS, if you put riley or sophie in the keyword then it will appear in the Riley and Company gallery at SCS so we can all admire it!

Okay I have to admit, I struggled with this one! monochromatic is hard when it's an image you would normally colour, so I wasn't sure if I could colour my image as usual and then use like colour papers...hopefully this is monochromatic enough!

I used Cafe Riley, he looks so cozy, I wouldn't mind joining him! I coloured the image with copics, in colours that I thought matched my paper.

Bravo burgundy copic R59 cardinal
Kraft copic E43 Dull ivory

The card base is burgundy with a layer of dp I bought a couple years ago in a big pack from Costco.

The corners are an EK punch, with a half back pearl added. The main imager and the corners are popped up.

The bottom edge is a MS edge punch, topped with kraft taffeta and burgundy ribbon.

Stamp: Cafe Riley
Paper: bravo burgundy, kraft, white, dp
Ink: memento tuxedo black
accessories: copics, EK corner punch, MS edge punch, ribbon, dimensionals, half back pearls
Want to see more monochromatic ideas, check out what the other Design Team members came up with, just look at the right side bar for all the links to there blogs!
Have a great day, and I hope you can play along!

Burning Love Valentine! TSMONDAY15

Wow, can you believe this is already the 15th Monday challenge at Totally Stampalicious! Time sure does fly!
This Mondays challenge TSMONDAY15, is to use hearts in honor of valentines day!
This also fits for the C4C23, on the Crazy for challenges blog, to make a Valentine!
I knew I wanted to use Rockin Frawg, and since he's holding a guitar, I figured he should be singing a love song! I searched online and decided to go with Elvis Presley's Burning Love. I printed the lyrics on the computer. Of course this couldn't go smoothly! For some reason the printer ink keeps smearing, but I used it anyway. I figure we can pretend the fire is making the letters melt! lol
I stamped Mr. Heart Throb in black, and coloured with copics. The guitar is covered with a silver atyou spica. I used the MS grass edge punch to make the flames.
The edge of the verses and the main image are sponged with summer sun and pumpkin pie. I made the hearts with a MS punch, all the larger ones are popped up.
Check out Totally Stampalicious, this week they're offering free shipping with an order $30. or more.
You can still get free digis with each stamp set you buy.
Sign up for the newsletter for a chance to win the next $100. draw when they reach 200 subscribers!
Stamps: Rockin Frawg
Paper: black, ruby red, white, pumpkin pie, summer sun
Ink: memento tuxedo black, ruby red, pumpkin pie, summer sun
Accessories: MS grass edge punch, MS heart punch, word window, dimensionals, copics, silver atyou spica, sponges.
Have a great Day!

Flower Handbag!

Hello, I haven't played in Melanie's challenges for too long, and decided it was time! Melanie challenged us to make something using her set 'A Year Of Flowers'.

I decided to combine that challenge with the Technique lovers challenge TLC58, the bucket handbag. You can find all the info and a template by following the link.

The bucket itself is plain old white with the edges sponged in soft sky. I stamped the flower stems and leaves onto white, and coloured them all with copics. It's hard to see in the photo, but the center flower is layeresd with part popped up.

The edging was made with the Spellbinders borderabilities classic lace die. It's close to cocoa with the edges sponged in matching ink, this border is popped up.

The tag sentiment and unique ladybug can also be found in the 'A Year of Flowers' set. This was my second attempt at a tag! The first one had a red ladybug, and I just didn't think it fit! lol Well that's the beauty of crafting, you can chose your own colours!

I finished it off with pretty in pink taffeta ribbon, and the tag also has linen twine.

CIC6, Red Hearts!

Hello again, with the craziness of Christmas and Olivia's Birthday out of the way, I had some extra time to enter some challenges! This was made for the challenge C1C6, over on the Clearly istamp blog for Clear Dollar Stamps. This challenge was to use red, black, white, and pink if you wanted.

I used the Everyday Jar-Gone set. The hearts were all punched. I stamped the jar on a separate piece of white, then glued on the hearts & cut them along the edges of the jar, so they didn't go outside the jar. Then I attached that to a jar I had already stamped and added a few more hearts to the top of the pile.

I hope it's okay, I also used this weeks sketch challenge SC266!

Stamps: Everyday Jar-Gone
Paper: real red, white, black, dp Kaisercraft
Ink: memento tuxedo black'
Accessories: copics C-1, swiss dot EF, circle punches, heart punches, ribbon, dimensionals

Serenity in Spring!

Hello, how about a glitter of spring! This is much cheerier than the news from the silly ground hog!

I made this for the Guest Designer challenge 'Think Spring' on the MFT forum. The challenge is over, sorry I'm late posting this, there certainly were some fabulous designs! If you want to check out all the entries you can find them here. The winner was raduse, check out her beautiful framed creation!

I used the serenity now set. I picked my dp first, from basic greys Sultry pad. Then I matched it with kiwi kiss & pretty in pink. Her outfit is paper pieced with the dp too.

The grass was made with the new MS edge punch, it's popped up and I added flowers and pearl centers. The sentiment is stamped on dp. I used a hat pin for the beads, added some taffeta ribbon and balanced it with a butterfly!

Stamps: serenity now
Paper: kiwi kiss, pretty in pink, white, basic grey Sultry
Ink: memento tuxedo black
Accessories: copics, MS grass edge punch, MS hydranga punch, circle punches, taffeta ribbon, beads, hat pin, MS butterfly punch, pearls

I Hope you like it.

TSMONDAY14, Charge it!

Hello, I made this for the TSMONDAY14 sketch challenge on the Totally Stampalicious blog!
I used Glam Kitty again, because I love this set! It's so funny because this isn't the first time Joycelyn and I have used the same colours! I promise I hadn't seen her sample before I started mine! lol
So I used black, pretty in pink and white. I paper pieced her dress using dp from Making Memories Sabrina. The background was made with stamps in the Glam Kitty set.
I coloured Miss Kitty with copics, except her dress. The bag was stamped separately, coloured & cut out. The little swirls in the corner were in my 'already punched/cut' bin. They were originally made with the cuttle bug die vintage.
I added lots of gems for sparkle and black satin ribbon with pink taffeta ribbon.
I hope you can play along, you can find the sketch and Mr. Linky here!
Also the Farmer Hawg and sentiment set are still on sale for a combined price of $19.95, so nows a great time to get them if you haven't already, the sale in on til Sunday Feb. 7!
Thanks for stopping by, don't be afraid to leave a comment and let me know what you think.
