QFTD33, IC256, Celebrate!

Hello, I finally had a chance to play in the Queen for a Day Challenge QFTD33. This weeks Queen is Broom, and I was inspired by this card in her gallery!

This is also for today's inspiration challenge IC256 Destiny's Creations. I was inspired by this pair of earrings!

For today's card, I used the Fat Mice Balloon stamp, it's a Bugaboo Image now available at Totally Stampalicious in stamp form. I stamped the mouse in memento's rich cocoa and coloured with copics.

I took the colours from the earrings in the inspriation challenge, and used chocolate chip, blushing bride and so saffron. The background was embossed with a new Provo craft EF, I think it was originally in a pkg with a few others, but I was at a Craft Festival last week & someone was selling individuals! I thought it would be good for this image with the balloon & celebrate sentiment, because what's a party without candy! lol

I made the sun with my new die-namics sun die, love it! Then I finished it off with some gems!

Have a Great Day!

Speedy's Challenge #27, Holiday Card!

Hello, it's Saturday and that means it's time for another challenge from Speedy The Cat's Friends! This weeks Challenge #27 is to make a Holiday Card!

There were 228 amazing creations submitted last week, that means 4 winners, how awesome is that!!! So make sure to upload your card or project to Mark's Finest Papers Blog for your chance to win. There is a FREE stamp set drawn for every 50 entries!

So onto my card, and it includes a sneak peek of a new set to be released soon, called Musical Holiday! I also used this weeks sketch challenge SC304.

I picked the designer paper first, it's from the Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses pad, also available at MFP. Then I picked Old Olive and Pink Pirouette cardstock.

The horn was stamped onto white and coloured with copics. Then I cut the horn out, I did consider cutting out the middle intricate bits, but I decided to chicken out and just use a white background! lol The horn is popped up on dimensionals, and I added the sheer bow to it!

The pink panel was embossed with the Holly Ribbons embossing folder. The center music panel is a stamp also in this set, and I stamped it in rich razzleberry!

Have a Great Weekend!

Sorry...in 4 Challenges!

I've been getting a good jump on the Christmas cards, so when this new set arrived, I had to take a break from Christmas and make something!

I combined 4 challenges, well the ways to use it WT294 Frame it, may be a stretch! But I also used this weeks colour challenge CC294 breezy blushing cake, sketch challenge SC304 and Free 4 all F4A36 rummage & scavenging!

These images are from the Mark's Finest Papers set 'Flourished Sea Creatures'. I stamped the crab onto a light pink Basic Grey dp scrap. Then I added the darker colour with a prisma pencil. The oval was stamped with the sea grass (not sure if that's the right name?) I inked up the stamp with baja breeze and then ran my old olive marker along the edge of each blade. The oval is sponged with blushing bride, then layered on crumb cake oval scallop nesties. The bubbles are pearls.

The card base is crumb cake with a layer of baja breeze embossed with a new 'Swirl' embossing folder from Crafts-too. The next panel is blushing bride embossed with the love language EF.

I finished it off with linen thread with a shell button from the $ store!

Heads Up: November Sneak Peeks for Mark's Finest Papers will start on Saturday October 30...be on the look out, there's 6 new sets coming! Please join us for the Blog Hop Tuesday November 9-12.

Have a Great Day!

The checkered panel was made with a stamp from Mark's Finest Papers in the Snowman Country set!!! how cool is that!

I finished it off with some silver brads, and the inside will say 'have a Speedy recovery'!

The cardstock and stamp are from Mark's Finest Papers. The sentiment is from the set Snowman Country. I embossed it in white.

Hi Everyone, it's time for the Totally Stampalicious Monday Challenge. This week, we are being challenged to use the colours purple, green, and black, and it doesn't have to be a Halloween card!

I used the new 'Pimp My Ride Stella!', she's a Bugaboo image now available as a clear stamp at Totally Stampalicious. The lighting seems to be off, but the card base is lavendar lace, her sleigh is purple dp, and I coloured Stella with some green plus there's green dots in the dp. For the black, I used black ribbon and Stella's hair is black as well as the sentiment!

I hope you can join in the challenge, just upload your creation to the Totally Stampalicious Blog so we can see, and who knows, maybe there will be a prize!

Speedy's Challenge #26, Die Cuts!

Hello, this weeks Speedy The Cats Friend's challenge #26 is to use a die cut! There are so many die cuts on the market now, this should be an easy one!

For today's card, I used one of the new sets from Mark's Finest Papers called Snowman Country! I stamped the snowman onto white, coloured with copics, covered him (or her) with versamark and embossed with some glittery EP. Then I cut the snowman out. You can see the glitter better in the photo below.

The card base is white, with a layer of dp from Bo Bunny. The center strip is white embossed with the snowflake EF. The ribbon is from MFP, and it looks like it was made to match this dp!

For die cuts, I used the shapeabilities Fancy Tags, and the circle nesties. The sentiment was made by inking up the snowflakes with colours to match my paper, then I stamp the 'Joy' in black. Then just like the snowman, I covered it in versamark and glittery EP. Then I punch out the sentiment. The sentiment and the snowman are popped up!

I finished it off with some pearls and a bow with a button from my stash that looks like the pearls!

I hope you can play along, just make sure to upload your creation to the Mark's Finest Papers Blog by Friday Oct. 29. You can enter as often as you like, and if you already have MFP stamps, use them and your name is entered twice! There will be a Free stamp set drawn for every 50 entries!

SC303, WT293, Pink Christmas Tree!

Hello, well I have no idea whats happened to my mojo! My card idea today started with using the ornament embossing folder, but after several alterations, I didn't even use it! I'm still not sure I love it, but it's growing on me!

I combined two challenges for this one, the sketch challenge SC303, and todays ways to use it challenge WT293, fabric. My fabric is the lace tree skirt!

I stamped the tree from Mark's Finest Papers set Snowman Country onto dp from Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses with versamark and embossed with white EP.

The sentiment is from another MFP set called "Our Family Tree". I finished it off with some fibre and pearls.

Recipe
Stamps: Snowman Country, Our Family Tree
Paper: bravo burgundy, white, pink, MFP blue, Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses
Ink: versamark, bravo burgundy, soft sky
Accessories: white EP, circle punches, MS ornament punch, oval nesties, pearls, lace, fibre, dimensionals

RILEY2010, Autumn Colours!

Hello, sorry I'm late to the Riley and Company challenge, but better late than never! This weeks challenge is hosted by Therese, and she is challenging us to use fall colours!

I used the new Raking Leaves Riley to create todays card. I also used this weeks colour challenge CC293, concord cherry olives!

I stamped Riley onto white and coloured him with copics. Then I cut out the image and a couple of the leaves and popped up Riley and the falling leaf!

The card base is cherry cobbler, with a layer of old olive. The natural ivory was embossed with the Leafy Tree embossing folder from Crafts-too. Then I embossed another tree in chocolate chip and cut out the tree. I coloured the leaves with copics, and glued the brown tree on top.

I finished it off with some concord ribbon!

I hope you can play along. Once you've completed your card or project, please leave a comment and link to your creation on the Riley and Company blog so we can see! If you upload to a forum like SCS, please use the keyword RILEY2010.

TLC295, Shimmery Bear!

Hello, I made this for today's Technique Lovers Challenge TLC295, Make it Shimmery! Well I only have one container of Perfect Pearls in copper colour, and it just wasn't working for me, so I used Champagne Mist paint from SU.

I did follow all the steps in the tutorial, I stamped the bear from Mark's Finest Papers, Time to Chill, onto watercolour paper with Memento rich cocoa. Then I coloured very lightly around some of the edges with a close to cocoa watercolour crayon. I spread the crayon around with the shimmery paint! Look at the close up, isn't he something! he reminds me of a vampire named Edward!!!!
I covered my acrylic block with pink pirouette paint for the background, but it turned out very light! I stamped the snowflakes also from the Time to Chill set with pink.
The pink background piece also has snowflakes stamped with the shimmer paint. I love pink and brown together!
Have a Great Day!

TSMONDAY, CASE a Design Team Member!

Hello, time for another Totally Stampalicious Monday Challenge! This weeks challenge is to CASE a Design Team Member. If you go to SCS gallery and put Totally Stampalicious, you come up with a mix of cards from all the Design Team members, or you can search each Designers Blog, there's links on my right sidebar.

There's so many to choose from, but I finally settled on this card from Pat (aka kokirose). I still used Stella, but this is a winter one, called 'Let it Snow Stella'. I stamped her onto white and coloured with copics.

The card base is early espresso, with a layer of marina mist embossed with a snowflake EF and edges sponged.

I used the top note die to cut the dp from My Minds Eye-Signature Christmas, and this dp was the starting point for my colour selection!

The snowflakes were made with a sizzix die and a MS punch and some glitter cardstock. The main image and parts of the snowflake are popped up. I finished it off with some taffeta ribbon! Too bad the photo doesn't show the glitter, there's some on the dp, the snowflakes and the little circle snowflakes on the main image panel!

I hope you can play along, this should be fun seeing what you CASE! Make sure to upload your creation to Mr. Linky on the Totally Stampalicious Blog, so we can see, and who knows, there may be a prize!

FS193, Cool Penguin!

Hello I made this for today's Featured Stamper Challenge FS193. This weeks Featured Stamper is imamuttnut aka Laurie, and I chose this card to case.
I wish I had made the center panel smaller, but alas I did not listen to the little voice in my head! lol
This was a super fast & easy card! The base is white, the center panel is vellum with an icicle edge, I stamped the sentiment on first and then embossed with the snowflake embossing folder from Crafts-too. Then white and then black!
The cute little penguin is in a new set from Mark's Finest Papers called 'Time to Chill'! I stamped the image in versamark, then black ink and embossed with black embossing powder. Then I cut him out and popped him up.
To attached the vellum without having any glue marks, I put a strip of 1/8" scor tape under the ribbon and glued under the penguin.
Have a Great Day!

Speedy's Challenge #25, Stitching!

Happy Saturday, it's time for another challenge from Speedy the Cat's Friends, and this week's challenge #25, is to use stitching, faux or real!

This dp from Basic Greys Wassail reminded me of a quilt, which reminded, me of stitching, so that's what I went with!

I love the tree in the new set 'Time to Chill', if you've been following the Blog Hop at Mark's Finest Papers, you've already seen lots of great ways it can be used.

For today's card, I decided to stamp my tree on dp and paper piece it. Below you can see I stamped the tree 2 times on DP then I cut every other layer, while leaving a bit at the tops for a tab. Then I glued these down to the red cardstock, starting at the bottom of the tree, and only gluing the tab part of each layer. This gives the tree a bit of dimension.
All the faux stitching was done by hand with a fine tip marker. I used some twine to sew the buttons together. The dove is a MS punch, I punched 2, very lightly sponged the top edges and then glued only the bodies together. The wings are spread apart and the dove is popped up.

Speedy's Friends challenge is open to everyone, and for every 50 entries there is a FREE stamp set. You can enter as often as you like, and if you use Mark's Finest Papers stamps, your name will be entered twice! Please make sure to upload your creation on the Mark's Finest Papers Blog!

New MFP Release Snowman Country!

Hello, today's card features the new Set from Mark's Finest Papers, called "Snowman Country'. There are 6 new sets this month, and they are all available for purchase now at the store!

This is also the last day of the Blog Hop, all you have to do is leave a comment on participating Design Team Members Blogs for your chance to win, a new stamp set from next months release! You can find the whole hopping list on Mark's Finest Papers Blog!

So my card today is a little out of the ordinary for me! First it's big and square, well almost, it was supposed to be 5.5" square, but I cut it wrong...so it's 5.5 x 5.25"!

And somewhere in my head, I got the idea to use a giant glittery snowflake! It's very sparkly!

The cardstock is old olive and pretty in pink, with dp from Basic Greys Eskimo Kisses. The snowflake was made with a Petaloo glitter sheet. This stuff is kind of interesting, it's very pliable, like material?

The cute little snowman was stamped onto white with memento rich cocoa and coloured with copics.

I finished it off with some ribbon from Michael's Christmas section and a button, I also added a pearl to the center of the snowflake, and some at the top to balance it!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

MMTPT115, Now This is Skeery!

Hello, well when I read this weeks Teapot Tuesday Challenge, A Disaster For Casper the White and Friendly Ghost!, I thought how fun, specially with Halloween fast approaching!

Cindy's stories always make me laugh, and while reading them I always think this woman should be writing children's books!

Then I read the Destination Station and I have to admit Jacob's story brought me to tears, and I'm sure many other Teapotters were affected the same way. So for Jacob, this had to be a special Halloween card.
I decided to make what I think would be called a tri-fold type card, with a front, and 4 panels inside, each measuring 4.25 x 4.25". So the picture at the top is the from, with Franken-Riley, a couple fun punches, on a distressed grey backgound, spider and of course googly eyes!
Inside is Count Dracu-Riley and Mummy Riley. Since Dracu-Riley is in a coffin, I decided to make a lid for the coffin, added some texture and bats and voila! The next page is the Mummy with faux gauze background. The letters and bat are from a MS punch.

The next two pages are Vampire Riley and Witch on Broom Riley/Sophie! For the Vampire page, I used coredinations and embossed with the Spider web EF and sanded the raised parts abit and distressed the edges. It's hard to see in the photo the spider that's punched from glitter cardstock.
The next page is the Witch, I coloured her with copics (as well as all the others) then cut her out. The top part is daffodil Delight, I stamped the image onto this then embossed with a star EF, and sponged the edges. I cut the hills from old olive cardstock, added the fence and cat, both MS punches. There's also some glitter on the stars.
And this was where it was supposed to end, well I was going to add a place on the back to sign, but I just couldn't stop there...so I did the back too and that is why I'm a day late to the Tea Party!
On the backside, I used some more coredinations with more of a white core and embossed with the skeleton scroll EF. In order to get some of the skulls in, I had to cut a piece from the center and then match it up, it's matted on riding hood red. The skull is also a MS punch and it's glittery! Maybe I should buy shares in MS's company!
The next page is the signing page, simple white background, edges sponged with a bit of blue. The pumpkin is a $ stamp from Michael's and the grass is, you guessed it, a MS edge punch!
And finally the last spooky ghost page, this one was really simple, the top is punched, yep it's MS and actually so is the sentiment which I embossed with black.
I sure hope Jacob likes it, and I hope it's not too scarey!
You can find all the Riley stamps at Riley and Company!

TSMONDAY, Snowflakes!

Hello Everyone, Happy Thanksgiving! This weeks Totally Stampalicious challenge to create a card or project with at least 3 snowflakes! Sorry the picture above doesn't seem to have the best lighting!

This is also for this weeks Featured Stamper Challenge FS192. Jenn has a wonderful gallery and I was inspired by this card!

Before I get to the details of the card, I just wanted to let you know the winners of last weeks Totally Stampalicious Blog Hop are now posted on the Totally Stampalicious Blog, Congrats to all the winners!

So for today's card I used the new Pimp My Ride Stella! She's a Bugaboo image now available at Totally Stampalicious in stamp form. I stamped Stella onto white 2 times, and once on dp for the sleigh. I coloured one of the white images and cut it out, then I paper pieced Stella and the sleigh onto the other white image that I embossed with the swiss dot EF.

The card base is bravo burgundy, with a layer of dp from Basic Greys wassail. The center strip is kraft (new crumb cake) embossed with a new snowflake EF from Crafts-Too and then I ran my craft white ink pad over the raised bits and the edges. I used circle and petite scallop circle to cut the image and mat out.

I also used a snowflake edge punch on the burgundy strip, and added some pearls and ribbon to finish it off!

If you can join in the fun, please upload your creation to Mr. Linky on the Totally Stampalicious Blog!

Speedy's Challenge #24, Stripes!

Hello, it's Saturday you know what that means...time for another Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge...yep it's #24 and Joanne G (aka jojot) is challenging us to use stripes!

For today's challenge, I used the new Snowman Country set. The card is small, ony 4x4. I stamped the image onto white and coloured with copics. I've also added red stickles to the candy cane, and crystal effects to the berries and the buttons & eyes of the snowman. Then I cut the whole mug out. Circle/scallop nesties were used and the white center is embossed with snowflakes. I popped the mug up!

I found some cute mugs posted on SCS from Willsygirl, she had included a link to the tutorial, you can find it here. It's super easy, the mug only measures

I filled the mug with some treats, hot chocolate and mini marshmellows, I would have added a candy cane too, but I didn't have one! The sentiment on the mug is also from the Snowman Country set. Here's a great tip, I think I first learned from Faith, check out the mini ornament section of your stores, they can make great little embellishments. A great time to look is after christmas when everything is on sale...you can stock up for next year! The little candy cane is a mini ornament, I just took the little string off and used crystal effects to attach it!

Recipe
Stamps: Snowman Country
Paper: riding hood red, garden green, white, dp?
Ink: memento tuxedo black, riding hood red
Accessories: coics, circle/scallop nesties, sq/scallop nesties, stickles, crystal effects, snowflake EF, ribbon, candy cane ornament

Everyone is welcome to play, and when you have your card or project done, make sure to head on over to Mark's Finest Papers Blog and upload for your chance to win! You can enter as often as you like, you get entered twice if you use MFP stamps, and there is one FREE stamp set for every 50 entries!

RILEY1910, Happy Anniversary!

Hello, it's time for another challenge from the Riley and Company Design Team! This weeks Challenge is Hosted by Therese, and she's challenging us to make something with a Wedding or Anniversary theme. Happy Anniversary Therese!

For today's challenge, I created a scene using Couch Riley (now Sophie, see her eyelashes!) and Toasting Riley! If you're new to masking, you can find a tutorial here. You can create such great scenes with this techinique, and it's very easy...as long as you remember to use the mask! I usually make my mask by stamping my image on plain old copy paper and cut them out. Then I put a bit of repositional glue/tape on the back.

For this image, I stamped Couch Riley/Sophie first. Then covered her with mask.
Next stamp Toasting Riley. I did use a stampa-ma-jig to get him in the right spot.
Now cover Toasting Riley with mask.
(I cut out with nestie before doing floor.)
Use straight edge of scrap paper and cover top portion of image, only leaving the bottom exposed. Now stamp wood floor. I did have to draw in some of the floor lines near the edge, just use a fine tip permanant marker and ruler.
Leave masks on Rileys and sponge around edges.
Now you're ready to colour them in!

I cut the image out with the nestie Label #5, coloured with copics, added crystal effects to the glass, chocolates and balloons. The chocolate box was coloured with a gold copic atyou spica. This whole panel is popped up. The heart on the sentiment tag was made with an EK punch, the smaller ones are MS punch.

The card base is black, with a layer of chery cobbler, and then DP from K&Co. black & Ivory pad.

So why not ink up those Riley stamps and join in the fun! Make sure to upload your creation to the Riley and Company blog, and use the keyword RILEY1910 when uploading to forums!

For more inspiration, check out the other Design Team Members, there's links on my right hand side bar.

TSMONDAY, Thankful!

Hello, Happy Monday! Since our Canadian Thanksgiving is fast approaching, this weeks Totally Stampalicious Challenge is to make a Thankful card or project!

I made a card, and although it may not seem like a Thank You card, the inside will either say Thanks or Happy Thanksgiving, I haven't decided yet!

For today's card I used Farmer Hawg and coloured him with copics. I had picked my dp first, which is usally how I start, so I coloured him to match.

The strip down the side is white stamped with poppy parade and Hero Arts Spoon & Fork. The sentiment in his sign is also from this set.

The card base is black, with poppy parage and dp from Moxie called home cooked.

I finished it off with some ribbon and popped up the main image panel!

Everyone is welcome to play along, and who knows, maybe you'll win something! Make sure to upload your creation to the Totally Stampalicious Blog for your chance to win!

Speedy's Challenge #23, Masculine!

Hello, this is my card for Speedy The Cat's Friends Challenge #23. This weeks challenge is to make a masculine card!
EDIT: ok apparently I've screwed up! The challenge this week is BUTTONS & BOWS...so pretend the buckle is a button...I have no idea how I managed that!

For may card, I used the new set Stinky Situation! I also used this weeks TLC292, stamping on tissue paper.
For the background, first I spritzed the tissue paper with water, and then I sprayed it with Vanilla Shimmer. It dries quick and easy with a heat gun. Once dry, I stamped it with the birch trees from the Stinky Situation set, then glued it to a piece of white cardstock.

You can see the shimmer better in this close-up. I matted this with blue and then a black card base.

The skunks were stamped with memento tuxedo black, onto white and cut out. I popped them up on the rectangle. The largest black rectangle is made with the lg deckled rectangle nesties.

Since the theme is masculine, I finished it off with ribbon and some HPH.

Please join us at Mark's Finest Papers Blog for this challenge, there's great prizes every week! For each card or project entered, you have a chance to win a stamp set. You can enter as many times as you like, and if you use MFP stamps, your name gets entered twice!

All stamps, Cardstock, and Vanilla Shimmer can be found at Mark's Finest Papers!

Hello, this is my 3rd card using this weeks sketch challenge SC300. I couldn't help it, there were so many ideas running through my head! This was actually my first idea, but I figured it would take me longer to make than the others so I left it, but I just had to give it a try!

With the combination of the colours, lace and pearls, I think this would make a great Baby Girl card.

The card base is pink pirouette with a layer of white embossed with the swiss dot EF. The two panels were made with the eyelets borderabilities, and backed with pink. I wove the pink taffeta ribbon though them, and added little pink pearls.

The nest and sentiment are both from the 'Ferns & Chickadees' set from Mark's Finest Papers. I stamped the nest onto white, and coloured with copics. Then I cut it out, and popped it up. The main image is on a scallop nectangle nestie. The whole rectangle is popped up too.

I finished it off with some bows!

Have a Great Day!
